Can't draw lines in PSE8

I just got PSE8 for my MacBook Pro and installed my Genius Tablet (along with all of the updated drivers).
The tablet is working fine - I checked the pressure test under tablet settings - so it isn't the problem.
However, when I go into Photoshop and try to draw a line it just stops at the first dot.

Can you draw lines OK with your mouse?
If so, it might be an issue with the Tablet. Do they provide any kind of support?

SmartForms - draw line in template

Hi!
I am new to SF, so have a question on drawing line in a template. I use template as the data is only printed out once and is static. I have many columns in my template and I would like to draw lines on the columns so that it is tidy & looks nicer.
I double click the template & in the "output options" tab, I checked the check box "line with..", but error prompt out to stop me, saying "Boxes/Shadings are not allowed within a table".
Does anyone know how can I draw lines in a template?

Click on the template under the template tab, and then click on the select pattern just under the template heading , there you use lines.

I am wondering how can I draw lines b/w two points. I assume there should be spatial function where I can pass lat,lon of first and second point.......

You can use Luc's function, but it's quite easy to insert newly created geometry:

and it's not that difficult to create a function that you call which takes 4 parameters (x1,y1,x2,y2) which calls something like the above statement.
If you have WKT or WKB (Well Known Text or Well Known Binary info, you can use these:
SDO_GEOMETRY(wkt CLOB, srid NUMBER DEFAULT NULL);
SDO_GEOMETRY(wkt VARCHAR2, srid NUMBER DEFAULT NULL);
SDO_GEOMETRY(wkb BLOB, srid NUMBER DEFAULT NULL);
But there is no specific function to 'draw' a line (you can use third-party tools for that though, there's a lot of them out there that do offer graphical interfaces to Oracle Spatial Data).

The latter is easily accomplished using the Drawing Markup tools, which are available in both the free Adobe Reader, and in Acrobat. Copying/pasting text into the PDF is something that you could do using the editing tools that are available only in Acrobat. Note, however, that Acrobat isn't intended to be a text-editing application, so editing there won't be as robust as in an application designed specifically for that purpose. (It's also worth mentioning that you won't be able to alter a PDF if it has document permissions applied that would prevent you from doing so.)

By drawing on the screen, I assume you mean drawing outside the bounds of a top-level window like
JFrame or JDialog. You can't do that. At least, without going native and even then that's a dodgey thing

Can't draw a line HELP!

I have to do something really quick in Illustrator. But every time I draw a new line the last line disappears!!
Whether I use the brush or the pencil. If I concentrate real hard and draw in super slow motion, I can get it to not disappear. BUT then when I draw a new line, it DISTORTS the previous line to something completely different. Is there a way to turn OFF this "function"?

Double click on the pencil or pen tool in the toolbox . Uncheck "Edit Selected Paths" to keep the pencil or brush from replacing the drawn path when you draw a new path close to it, uncheck "Keep selected" to allow Illustrator to deselect a path as soon as you draw it.

I can't draw straight lines for fill-in-the-blank on tests and worksheets. The draw-it-yourself ooption gives me thick lines and is time-consuming. So, after all these years, do I have to go back to using a ruler and a pen?

In Pages v5.0.1, the straight lines are already drawn for you in the Shape Tool. Before we go there, select Menu > View > Show Ruler.
When you click on Shape in the Pages toolbar, the top left line is straight. Click it. It will drop into your document in a 45 degree angle. Grab the lower left selection grip and drag it up and to the right to position the horizontal line in the length of your choice. Use the Format: Style tab to manage the stroke weight. You can also choose Menu > Edit > Duplicate Selection (command+D) as a productivity tool.
If you move from the Format: Style tab to the Arrange tab, you can compare the start and end points with where you want the line positioned on the ruler. Once you have it positioned, notice the Lock button, also on the Format: Arrange tab.

I have been trying to draw dashed lines too. I have tried drawing a dash and then putting it in a loop. the loop executes after the user has lifted the mouse and then it gets the end point of the line. the problem is that the line appears only after the mouse has been pressed, dragged and released. I was wondering if you have managed to solve your problem. If yes then could you help me with it.

Can only draw circle and square in Illustrator CS5 and Photoshop CS5

I am experiencing a strange bug that seems to be affecting both Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5. In Illustrator, when I try to draw a rectangle or ellipse I can only draw circles and squares. Also I can't change the color of selected objects. When I try to change its fill nothing happens. I can also only drag objects on the 0, 45 and 90 degree angles. Also I can no longer select off an object by clicking on the artboard. When I click on the artboard nothing happens.
Similarly in Photoshop I can only draw straight lines using the brush tool. The marquee tool is also not functioning properly. When I try to use the marquee tool the marching ants form a square but when I release the mouse it selects a rectangular portion. Strangely if I use the marquee tool and make selection I can press the shift key and add to it but this second selection's marching ants are not square but are properly rectangular.
Since the problem seems to be affecting both Illustrator and Photoshop I'm thinking it's probably some kind of system conflict or perhaps an application running in the background is affecting it. Also if I restart my mac the problem goes away. Unfortunately the problem eventually returns.
Anyway I'm pretty sure most of the suggested fixes involve systematically going through all the programs running in the background and trying to determine which if any might be affecting Illustrator and Photoshop but I just thought I'd post something in case someone else had the problem or knew of any fixes.

Ok I figured out the problem. It was another application called teleport which lets you control 2 macs with one mouse. It requires a hot key and in my case that was the shift key. Even though it was running it was still affecting me. Had to quit it and restart. If you're having a similar problem I'd check to see you're not running any other applications that can be activated with a hot key.

How to draw line on SAP form

Hi everyone,
Who have a good way to draw lines on SAP form?
I created a Wizard form, and use Rectangle (Height=0) as the two lines between title and bottom button, but I met a problem, when show another form which cover the line, after close this form, some part of lines disappear, I have tried using SAP form refresh, it still can not restore showing line completely, who have good way to workaround the problem or give me another way to draw line.

The only way I found to get a form looking really close to a standard B1 Wizard form is to use bitmaps. I use 3 - one each for the top, bottom and left hand side. The bitmaps include the line drawing and appropriate pictures/background colours. I normally define these in the XML used to create the form as in the following example:-
