Can't edit all contacts in iOS 7

I couldn't find any info on this, but I am not able to edit all of my contacts after updating to iOS 7. Some have the "edit" button, and some don't. It's driving me nuts.
Some that I can't edit were originally created on my iPhone.

Had the same problem. Turned off contact sync in iCloud settings retaining all contacts on iPhone. Turned phone off and on then turned sync contacts on in iCloud merging all contacts. Problem solved. Hope it works for you.

  • I can't edit my contacts on my iPhone 4, after upgrading to iOS 5

After updating my iPhone 4 to the iOS 5.1.1, I can't edit my contacts or add any new contacts. Can anybody help me with this? Thank you.

    Try this:
Settings>iCloud>Contacts>On...see if you can edit now...if so, you can go back into Settings & turn this off, if you like.

I have the IPhone 4 , after updating the software to version 5.0 , i can't edit my contacts anymore(the button edit doesn't exist anymore), is it only from my device or the updated software should be adjusted?

That's exactly right.  And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes).  In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored.  That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos.  But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine!  Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there.  They will be safe there.

Contacts are synced with a compatible programme in the computer; in the iCloud or with Yahoo and Google Mail. You can directly "edit" a contact on the phone and/or within the programme that you are syncing your contacts with.
Have you configured/setup mails on your iPhone? If yes, check the contents of the mail account(s) individually. (including iCloud)  from SETTINGS - MAILS, CONTACTS, CALENDARS
"Contacts" if chosen from the mail account (s) would add email addresses to your contacts.

  • How can i remove all contact at once from ovi?

after synchronise with ovi & my mobile how can i remove all contact from my ovi's contact.
I can remove one by one but i want to remove all at once. how possible??
    Solved!

    @tkwcare:
Beware of that method. Restoring your contacts after sync'ing will restore the phone to a state with a timestamp prior to when the sync occurred. Sync'ing again will attempt to bring the phone up to date with the online resource and, in doing so, will delete all the contacts off the phone!

I'm assuming you want to transfer all your contacts between sim and phone memory all at once.
to do this, go to contacts on your phone then select "options", then select "Mark\Unmark". You then get a little side menu. in this side menu select "Mark All". all you phone contact should now have ticks next to them. Now Press "Options" again and now you should have the option to "Copy to sim Directory". and from sim to phone do this in reverse.
    Peace out

  • I can connect to all contacts except for people on the same "bill" as me.  Why is that?

I can connect to all contacts expect for people on the same "bill" as me.  Why is that?

What does can't connect mean in regards to placing/receiving calls? Your iPhone doesn't ring when calling one of the numbers on the same account and bill, or your iPhone rings but the recipient's phone doesn't ring?
    Have you called the carrier?

  • How can I import all contacts to iPad1 from iMac?

My iPad [1] IOS 5 has a number of duplicate addresses, but does NOT include *all* my Contacts from my Mac.
My Mac is OSX 10.7.   I have selected iCloud as my storage, not 'my computer'
I have tried deleting the iPad Contacts [iCloud>slider 'off']  but when I return the slider to 'on' the Contacts are repopulated, but with all the same duplicates and omissions as before.
I have allowed a time delay; tried restarting the computer; nothing makes any difference.
Please help - I am reduced to sending myself emails containing the missing addresses!
In additon to the above... Pt2:  the duplicates in iPad Contacts have more - eg repeating the Home address - or sometimes less, information.
and if I add a name to a Group, there is immediately a duplicate entry created in the main address list [I could have >8 duplicated entries for one name if added to several group mailings]   Deleting duplicates is pointless, as they reappear.

If you have all the contacts you want on your iMac, turn iCloud contacts off on you iMac. Choose to keep the contacts local. You might backup or archive a copy of your contacts.
Once the iMac is isolated from iCloud, go to the iCloud.com website and select and delete all contacts. You can do this on the iPad also (it may be easier). Once the contacts are cleared from both the website and iPad, you can turn on iCloud contacts on the iMac. It should populate the website and the iPad.
