Can't edit Applications tab in ipod touch settings

Maybe this questions should be in the ipod touch category i don't know. Here's my problem: I can't uncheck or check any boxes in the Applications settings tab. The box 'sync applications' is checked and in the scrolling menu all the boxes are checked but I can't change or uncheck the box. The whole window seems to be shaded grey. The applications don't sync either. There are some apps on my ipod that I installed before this problem occurred and they still function fine but any new apps that I've downloaded won't load. What's really strange is that everything else, my music, photos, etc. all sync fine. Please help! this is really frustrating

never mind. I solved my own problem but I can't really figure out how. I my ipod off and then back on and then it seemed to work like normal. I had tried restarting already so I don't know why this time made a difference.

I can´t open any application of my ipod touch 4g. I have updated the software, download a new app, restart and reset the ipod but it´s still not working. Someone knows what can I do?

Did you try restoring the iPod from a previous backup or to factory settings yet?  If not, those would be your next steps.

Otherwise, you have a hardware issue, meaning you'll want to set up an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar to have them take a look at it.

  • How can I change the language of the App Store application for my ipod touch?

How can I change the language of the App Store application for my ipod touch?

These instructions are for changing the language for the Ipod Touch, but they don't change the language for the App store and the Reminders Application.
I think these two might be driven by the IP address of your location.  In my case, I am in Spain and have my Ipod Touch set to English, but for the App store and Reminders, it appears in Spanish.
I would like to be able to change them to English if possible.  I don't see any options within those applications to make this change.
Does anyone know how to make these changes?
    Many thanks.

Please help me out in this. Can't put any application into my ipod touch.

    Hello Mrunalini Goli,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Do you have the *Sync Applications* box ticked from under your iPod's Apps tab in iTunes? See this article for more help.

Also, make sure you don't have Restrictions enabled for installing Apps to your iPod. To check, head to *Settings -> General -> Restrictions*.

  • Applications transfer to ipod touch

Hi, I have downloaded a few applications for my ipod touch but don't seem to be able to find them on my device. They are showing on itunes that I have downloaded them in the applications part of the library but don't know how to actually transfer them onto my device. Can anyone help??

When you see the apps in iTunes - do you have "sync applications" checked? Is there a check mark next to the applications in your iTunes?
    Did you sync your iPod?
Have you confirmed that the applications in question are able to be used on your iPod & OS version?

  • Can I get insurance on an iPod touch that has already been stolen and how can I find it

My iPod touch has been misplaced or stolen, I have used to find my iPhone app multiple times but no luck tracking it. The app tells me that my iPod must connect to the internet before it's able to be tracked. I have locked it and sent various messages to contact me but still, it has to be connected to the internet. Is there a way I can get my serial number or something ? will Apple Replace My IPod If I Can't Find It?  Can someone PLEASE Help Me !

If it was stolen, the thief will soon find out it's useless. iOS 7's Activation Lock prevents its use by anyone other than its legitimate owner. If you provided contact information, that's all you can do. Wait until someone honest finds it.
Can I get insurance on an iPod touch
The insurance question is one for your insurance carrier - homeowner's or renter's insurance. Car insurance, if it was stolen from your car. Most insurance policy deductibles will exceed the value of your iPod though. Apple isn't in the insurance business.
... Is there a way I can get my serial number or something ?
If you do not know its serial number you can find it stored in your last iTunes backup:
Open iTunes on the computer you used to sync the iPod and select Preferences…from the iTunes menu. (In Windows, choose Edit > Preferences.)
Select the Devices pane. Position the cursor over any of its backups. The iPod's serial number will appear in a popup window.

    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

  • How do I delete an application from my IPOD Touch

Please help. I need instructions on how to delete an application from my IPOD Touch. I can't find instructions anywhere.

The best way to delete an app is to use iTunes and uncheck it before you sync with your touch. Using the method with the wiggly x on your touch will delete the icon from your touch, but according to the manual, "When you delete an application, its data is no longer accessible via the iPod touch user interface, but it isn’t erased from your iPod touch." So it still takes up room on your hd. When you delete by by unchecking in iTunes it completely removes the app and all associated data.

  • Application tab ejects ipod

I just received an iPod Touch in the mail this morning, plugged it into the mac and sync started without fail. However, it will unexpectedly eject in the middle of syncing and when I select the applications tab the iPod ejects - re-mounts and then re-syncs. I have done all the "R" stuff and still no change in behavior. I have an iPhone and a classic iPod that sync with no problem.

  • Can I transfer music from one Ipod touch to a newer generation Ipod touch?

Can I transfer music from one IPod Touch to a newer generation IPod Touch?

    - No directly.  You have to first get the music in your itunes library on your computer and then sync the music to the new computer.
    - You can/should restore you new iPod from the backup of your old iPod to get app date and other things on the new iPod.  You will have to reenter passwords since passwords only get restore to the same device. The backup does not contain music so that has to be synced.
    - You can transfer iTunes purchased from an iPod to your computer by:

    - The follow discussion discusses third-party programs to transfer non-iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer.

  • How can I transfer music from my iPod touch to my new mac without a backup?

I've seen a lot of tutorials on how to do this from various websites. Some are for windows only and some only apply to iPods that aren't touches. What I want to know is, how can i transfer my music from iPod touch to my Mac without losing everything and without having to buy all my music over again (none of my music was purchased on iTunes)? It'll break my heart that 600 songs are all gone simply because I don't have a backup or I didn't purchase from iTunes. There has to be a way to do this. Help?

You need a third-party program like one of those discussed here.

How can I transfer photos from my iPod touch to my laptop.?

    What photos?
Photos synced from computer to ipod are one way only  - computer to ipod.  As they came from your computer in the first place, they should still be there.
Pics taken with ipod are imported as with any digital camera.
