Can't Edit Calendar Entries

Hi, just wondering if I've done something stupid.
I've just purchased iPAD and upgraded to current OS after connecting to iTunes. All mail accounts and calendars have been sync'd to the IPAD but I can't seem to edit any calendar entries, such as changing a date or time of an appointment.
I either have to make the changes on my iPhone or desktop machine. I recently upgraded all my calendars so they are now at [email protected] but the iPhone has coped with this seamlessly. But I cannot make changes to calendar entries on the iPAD.
As always, I'd be grateful for any thoughts or help.
Regards,
Cliff

Hi,
Try a different tab in the menu. I'm using "Day" and able to get to the Edit window. Try Week, Month, or List... see if that makes a difference.
I recently upgraded all my calendars so they are now at [email protected] but the iPhone has coped with this seamlessly.
So your MobileMe account is syncing.

• Can not edit calendar entries, no "edit" button, only "done" button

I can not find a way to edit my Calendar entries on the iPad.
When I tap an event, I get a summary panel with only a blue done button, but no edit button.
When I do the same on my iPhone i get a panel with edit button etc.
Help, is there a setting I can change, or am I doing something wrong?
Sicco.

Tanks for your quick reply.
The problem is that the entry is kind of "orphaned" because i had the same entry (MobileMe sync) on my PB and on my iPhone.
I deleted the event on my iPhone, it is gone on my PB and not on the iPad.
But, even when I tap a date, nothing happens. The edit button is also not visible.
Must be an error from MobileMe.

• Since installing OS5 and iCloud, I can no longer edit calendar entries on iPhone 4.

Yesterday I installed OS5 and iCloud on my iPad, MacBook Pro and iPhone 4. I am able to edit calendar entries (old or new) on both the iPad and MacBook Pro. PROBLEM: there is no longer the option to edit calendar entires on my iPhone 4. I have checked under list, day and month viewing options.
Event details can be viewed but the button to edit is not appearing.
Most (if not all) of my calendar entires were created on my iPhone 4.
If I create a new calendar entry on the phone, I can edit it... but I think once there's a sync the edit option will again disappear. Waiting to confirm that.
I saw a posting about a year ago indicating this had happened before and was due to some mismatched account information, but I've checked each of my products and they all seem to have the same iCloud email and password information.
Is this a glitch or am I missing something? What do I need to change or adjust to be able to again edit calendar entries on my phone?
Please help. It's my lifeline.

If it happens again then try some basic steps like these:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

• Can not edit Calendar Items on iPhone 4 that were sent from Outlook 2013

Hi Folks,
When receiving a calendar item from Outlook 2013, I can accept it, but not edit it. When I receive the same item from Outlook 2003, I can accept AND edit.
How can I edit calendar items sent from Outlook 2013?
We are not using an Exchange server, simply sending the calendar items via email. We noticed this when we upgraded our office from MS Office 2003 to 2013.
Thank you so much for your help!
Ben Bolduc

Are you sure the Outlook 2013 calendar entries are set set to shared?
The following thread seems to document and discuss the topic well:

• Can you change calendar entries on iPhone once they've synced with Exchange

I've noticed that I cannot edit calendar entries on my phone that I have put into my calendar via Exchange. Sometimes appointments run longer or the time changes, and all I can seem to do is delete it and re-enter a new appointment. This is a pain!
Any suggestions?

works fine on mine (1st gen)? I can "Edit" the same as on other calendars!
When you select "Edit" can you not select the start end time etc by touching the screen?

• Can I copy calendar entries from 1 ipad to another using cloud?, Can I copy calendar entries from 1 ipad to another using cloud?

Can I copy calendar entries from 1 ipad to another using cloud?

Thanks Quinn, but it doesn't match what I am needing, so I should explain more clearly.
I am creating a spreadsheet for research references using Numbers. I want to be able to create all the records on the first sheet, and then create subgroups of selected entries on further sheets. I have done this by copying and pasting whole rows, which works, but it means that if I want to update an entry, I have to update it on each sheet: time consuming and prone to error. On other Numbers Spread sheets I have been able to link content in a cell in one sheet with a cell on another, so if one changes, so does the other. I would like to be able to do this with a whole row, or at least a selection of cells in one row.
I know I could use a database, but Im not sure which one. I have endNote and evernote which I use, but I would still like to have a basic CSV data type system so it can be easily shared with other people.
Any other thoughts?
Kathryn

• Can't delete calendar entry

I have some recurring entries in my calendar that won't delete. When I try to delete them, they just remain in my calendar on my 8830, although when I sync with Outlook they won't go there. When I try to open the entry to edit them, I get an error message that says "Appointment deleted externally. changes will be lost and the viewer closed".
So I can't edit them either.
Can someone please help me? I've tried doing a reboot, but that hasn't worked, and I have seen nothing like this on the support boards.
Thanks!

Bump.
I am experiencing the same thing on my 8830 and it is frustrating. I am synching with Outlook via my company's enterprise server and I have marked all of these calendar entries as private so they are not appearing in Outlook. They can't be deleted. I have not yet tried to create/delete a public calendar entry.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Can't make calendar entry on phone

I am having a problem with making a calendar entry on my iphone 3GS. I enter all the details (like I have done forever) and then when I hit "done" it just goes away. It's not in the calendar. This happens more than half the time - and has only started since the ios4 update.
Anyone have similar problems, or a solution?
Thanks

Now you have ME confused. Since I have gotten the very first iphone, I open calendar app on the phone, hit the plus button, and enter data. I can choose the name, the date and time, the calendar for which it pertains etc... Then I hit "done" at the top right, and the entry is immediately shown on the calendar view on the phone.
Now, I do the same thing i have always done - and sometimes it places the entry into the calendar, and many times does not. So I have to enter all the info again, and then after the second or third time, it works - and I can see the entry in the calendar app.

• ICal Wiki Groups - Can't Modify Calendar Entry - Error Bad Gateway

Hello All,

“HTTP/1.1 502 Bad Gateway”
to operation CalDAVMoveEntityQueueableOperation.
Anyone else see this problem?

i have the same problem. i have my own snow leopard server running ical server. 5 users, (typical) shared calendaring. i personally have multiple calendars created. i see this error when i try to change the calendar of an invited event (from work to personal, for example).

• Can't edit Blog Entries

Hi,
When I open iWeb, I can edit the other pages in my site, but the Blog Entries page either won't load, or will load partially. I can't see past entries or edit new entries.
If I can see the Add Entry button, and I click it, iWeb crashes.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

I have seen a similar problem today.
We have our blogs hosted at wordpress.com. In Contribute 6.5 (never before having touched the blogs in it) I went to add my blogs, entered my wordpress login details. Contribute spent a bit of time loading stuff. Then I had to go to lunch and shut Contribute down without editing anything.
When I got back I was informed by my colleagues that all of out blogs (which they had subscribed to be email) had sent them emails that were essentially empty. At the time I assumed that they got them because they are also blog admins.
On our test blog (which is hidden) I did a test post. It posted OK but when I tried to edit both an existing post and the post I had just done Contribute responded that I did not have a connection to that site. I noticed that the domain had changed from http:// to https:// - I've looked for a way to tell Contribute to see these as the same but can't find any.
Then we got feedback from a customer that he'd got the emails as well. So it appears that ANY activity by Contribute is triggering wordpress to send these updates. And from what I'm seeing now it does it whenever I connect with ANY of the blogs.

• Can't make calendar entries after upgrade to OS5

I recently upgraded my iphone 3gs from OS4 to OS5.01. Now I cannot make any calendar entries. The + sign in Calendar is no longer visible. I have seen a few other reports of this in other discussions, but so far no solutions. Is there a fix available for this? If not, can I revert back to OS4.x which worked fine and wait for a future release of OS5?

Problem resolved. Went to Settings > iCloud and turned on Calendar.

• Can't share calendar entries between ios7 iPads

Calendar Entries
made on an iPad2 do not show up on an iPad Air. Both have iCloud enabled. Notes & Contact lists are shared just fine.

Make sure you have Calendars turned on in Settings>iCloud on both devices, and that they are both signed into the same iCloud account. If they are, you may be entering your events on a non-iCloud calendar by mistake. Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar on both devices and choose an iCloud calendar as your default. Then add a test event on both devices and see if it appears on the other one now.

• How can I edit calendar reminders that still pop up from old .mac account?

Can anyone help me? I have 3 repeating, pop-up calendar items from my old.mac calendar that can not be edited in any way. I can't get to them to delete them. The calendar items do not show up in any other calendar, including icloud.

thanks for the feed back - that sounds a bit involved - have retrieved the files and placed them in a folder on my desktop - will have them if they are ever needed, excepted that I will have to look at them individually as all the names are EMLX.

• TS3999 Can't see Calendar entries with new upgrade...

With the recent upgrade of iCloud Calendar, I can't see many of the daily entries when I look at the "Month" view. In the old version I could. I'm not sure if it's the font size or color that's the problem. It's a pain to have to click on the "..." (which is the only thing I am now able to see) every time I want to know what we have coming up. My monthly calendar is VITAL to me and helps me keep all of our schedules in line. With 2 working parents and 4 very active kids, I need my fully monthly calendar view back, PLEASE!!! Any suggestions to fix this? HELP!!!

Anytime you introduce new networking hardware, it is important to perform a complete power recycle of your of your networking equipment.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, new router, AirPort base stations, and computer(s).
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the new router; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base stations; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

• Can't Edit iCal entry from Invitation

Okay, I run the calendar at work (Outlook 2003) but I also like to keep my own copy on iCal (because I like it better). I have been manually copying meetings so far but I decided to send myself invitations from my work Outlook calendar to my iCal (should have been less typing). I was able to get it to my work iCal (after reordering my list of calendars) and accept it. However, I cannot edit it in any way. I assume if I changed something on my work calendar and had it send the change to my mac email I would be able to click on it and it would change the entry on my iCal. But since I am the master of both my calendars I should be able to make it editable. Shouldn't I?
And no, I don't want to synch Outlook to Google to iCal.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks, AndyB, NH.

I've had the SAME problem..noticed it started after a software update
