Can't edit events received by e-mail

I just realized that I can no longer edit an event which I received by e-mail. I get the message "Invitation error, only the organizer can change this event". Until a few days ago changing events received by e-mail was always possible. My wife has the same problem with iCal on her machine. Does anyone experience the same problem or have a suggestion how to solve that?

I have THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. Just started a few days ago....it's ******* me off....none of my other friends are having this problem. I have an iPhone 4 also...here's a picture for anyone who wants to contribute a resolution...

Using iMac with OSX 10.7.5. Can send but not receive emails. No problem with internet account. Server rep tried everything and suggested perhaps a corrupted file in the op syst. Any ideas?

You may have a corrupt preference. Mail - Preferences - Accounts - click the offending account and re-enter all prefereneces. Also you can use Apple's OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages located at:

Can't send or receive comcast e-mail

Can't send or receive e-mail on my iMac through Comcast for about 2 months now. Same problem with all users set up in the computer. Can connect ok to the internet, but can't access www.comcast.net unless I reset Safari, then can only access once. Tried setting up new mail account, but get error message that it can't connect to server mail.comcast.net. Comcast blames it on last apple software update. I don't think that's the problem. Tried changing ports from 995 to 587 and 465 with no luck. Uncheck SSL box, no luck. Reset cable modem box, got incoming mail once, then no more. Outgoing mail still would not send. Not much help from the blogoshpere.
Any good suggestions out there?

Not sure why I can't even access Comcast.net without resetting safari. I have no trouble with the e-mail account on my PC (same Comcast account). Both my and my wife e-mail on the iMac don't work. Not sure what else it could be with the iMac. Comcast blames iMac software update for the problem. iMac software is up to date.

Can't send or receive on e mail - or bring up e mail portion of Firefox

Have been using ( & prefer Firefox) but all of a sudden I CAN'T SEND OR RECEIVE E MAIL. I can use e mail successfully on Outlook Express - but prefer Firefox. Also, I can still, for example, bring up my bank account, TDAmeritrade, Stockcharts, etc. with no problem.

Can't View Photos Received By E-mail

I have an Iphone 4. For some unknown reason, I have recently not been able to view photos that I receive via e-mail. Photos just appear with a question mark in a little box. Any idea's?

I can send but not receive email using Mail and Comcast

My incoming mail [Mac Mail 3.6(936) ] slowed and now has stopped. I get error message "mail.comcast.net" on port 995 timed out. I can send. I can receive at Comcast.net. I have tried changing the port setting to 101 and no SSL and 587 (the comcast online set up guide), etc. and sometimes it works once then fails again. I have deleted the p-list in the Mail Library and restarted and still nothing.
I deleted the account and set it up again but still no luck. Oddly the Preferences says deleting the Accounts will delete everything but the Mailboxes are still there. Part of the problem?
I do not have this issue using Thunderbird which is a program I do not like.
I used Comcast's various online guides, a long useless chat and useless email to no avail. My Primary Account Holder email (which I never use) works but not my every day email account.
MAC OS 10.5.8
MacBook Intel Core Duo
Mac Mail 3.6(936)

Here is what I would try -
Run the disk permissions utility....see if a repair works....
On the mail menu, go to Window => Connection Doctor - do you see errors (red dot) If so, what does it say the error is caused by?

How can I edit events in on the iPad syncing with mobileme beta version?

We use MobileMe to sync events in Cal between an iMac, a MacBook and 2 iPhones. We just migrated to the beta version of Calendar in Mobile me and it works fine. We share calendars between our machine successfully using MobileMe (Beta).
We just got a brand new iPad (WiFi 16GB) and configured it without problem except one. All the events are visible but cannot be edited on it. We can create a new event on the iPad but it won't show on the iMac.
This issue does not exist with the Contacts or the Mails
I guess this requires a specific parameter setting in MobileMe in this case. What do we need to change?

Can't Edit "Form Received" Text

I have a form working except upon submitting the message text "form received" is partially hidden under the captcha entry box and is a different color than all the other text on the page. I can't find any way to select, move and format that text in muse... Is there something I am missing?

Select the form in Design mode and switch between States within the States panel or the Control bar. You can edit that text for all three states other than the Normal state of course.

Can I Edit The Signature Line In Mail From My Touch?

When I send an email using my Touch the message automatically includes the line "Sent from my iPod"
Is there a way to edit this signature line?

Goto Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendars, go down to Signature and tap on the text (i.e., "Sent from my...." You be able to alter that signature to anything you'd like.

Can't edit event time in iCal 6.0

Hello,
Since updating to iOS 7 on my iPhone and iPad, I have noticed that iCal on my iMac will allow me to enter new events, but will not allow me to adjust the start and end times/days at all. I enter the times and click to another field and the times revert back to whatever was the default value placed by the app. I have to go to my iDevice and enter the event there in order to enter the start/end times correctly.
Suggestions? Thanks.

Email frozen, connection doctor say ok but can't send or receive through apple mail. Works ok when opened using safari

My apple e-mail has suddenly stopped working. Connection doctor say everything is fine (no connection problems) If accessed through safari account works fine. Also have had to "force quit" on a number of occassions. Any help much appreciated.
Am a bit miffed with apple wanting payment to fix something that appears to be a bug on a machine that is less than 1 yr old

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

HT1277 I can't seem to receive any incoming mail from my pop account why is this?

In the past couple of days I have been unable to recieve any incoming mail, but I'm able to send emails out! There is nothing wrong with my actual server, so I'm not sure what is wrong with my mac.

I'm thinking this is an authentication or port issue. Is this how you set it up?

The receiving email ports are:
IMAP is port 143
IMAP-SSL is port 993
POP is port 110
POP-SSL is port 995
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.

Can't edit new event in ical since snow loepard

I'm not realy good in english but i make my best, so sorry for bizzare contents. 2 days ago i install snow loepard on the macbook of my girlfriend and now some applications have problems. in ical we can't edit events... We c'ant create a new event but we can't change de title. The line apears block. It's weard because we can change the hour or other things, but not the title... somebody have the same problem? i look on the forum and i see nothing like this or answer for resolve the problem...

I fixed the problem. On another thread about a related iCal problem, someone thought there was a font issue causing the problem.
First, I removed iCal from the dock.
Second, I opened Macintosh HD, then opened Applications, then opened Font Book.
Third, in the Font Book window I selected All Fonts, and from the menu I selected "Select Duplicate Fonts."
Fourth, in the Font Book window, rather than just disabling the duplicate fonts, I moved all the duplicate fonts one by one to the Trash.
Fifth, I emptied the Trash and restarted the computer.
Sixth, I opened iCal from the Applications list (and selected "Keep in Dock").
Now, the iCal is working fine and I'm able to edit the event title.
