Can't edit members of my group message? 4S / iOS 8.1

Up to date iPhone 4S user. I can add people to a group message, but if I go to details and swipe to delete on a name nothing happens...I can't seem to delete a user from the chat. (a friend asked to be removed from a particular group) Also to see if it was just that one chat, I started a test group message and can't seem to remove users from that one as well. If I delete the group completely will the other members be removed as well or will my friend continue receiving messages?
This is frustrating...is this because someone in the group message is using an older phone or iOS?

If your iMessage and FaceTime still hasn't activated by now, I would recommend you use this specific section of the following article as long as you verify you've done all the other troubleshooting from it for this issue:
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime
If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.

Hi there,
You can text as many people as you want at once on the iPhone 5!
Bonus: If you want to send everyone a message without each person knowing who else received the message, you can go to Settings > Messages and turn Group Messaging to OFF. Each recipient will receive an individual message.

Can not add members to a Group as Group Administrator

Hi,
My collegue has created a Group 'WE_PM_group' and added me to that Group with role 'Group Administrator'.
But when I connect to the 'Create Group Or Add New Members' tool, then after SSO and acknowledging the 'read and understood Beehive Online Guidelines', it does not show the 'WE_PM_group' (it shows no Groups) and I can only Create a group.
My question : how can I add members to the Group that my collegue created and for which I am Group Administrator ?
Note : When I connect to the BeehiveOnline Administration Tool, I indeed see my e-mail address within the Group 'WE_PM_group' and with the correct role (Group Administrator)

If you go to the APEX app and have any group - like your Administrator - you will have a list of group - each of them is a hyperlink. Click on the group and the Group settings will be displayed - one of the fields is the Manager email. Get him/her to puit your email in that field, separated by a comma, and you are good to go.

When I replied to a message earlier, I noticed I replied to everyone in the group again. so your saying if I create a new thread from the person i want to reply to , the message will only go to that one person? meaning i have to tap the reply bubble from that person to create the new thread?

Group messaging in iOS 7

Ok so ever since I got my new iphone 5s my iMessage/text messaging has been really weird. My group messaging is not working right. Instead of getting a group message, I get messages individually from each group member. So you can't even tell its a group message. It just looks like a bunch of random texts from different people. I don't get why it's doing this??
I looked in my settings under messages and I have iMessage turned on, SMS message on, group message on. Pretty much everything is on but it's still not working. Also it may be worth noting that everyone from the group message all have iPhones so it's all through imessage.
Any thoughts as to how to fix this??? It's driving me crazy!

I have seen a number of posts from different locations regarding the Group Messaging question. I am with AT&T in the US and have an iPhone 4s with iOS 7.0.3. I do not use Group Messaging very often and have always had the button in the off position. I have sent a couple of short group messages in the last week, and see all responses from all members of the group. You asked for a picture so here you go. This is located under Settings>Messages.

How to edit members of a group in Address Book?

I need to add and delete members of a group in my Address Book. There seems to be no Edit function, though, and although I managed to type in a new name, when I opened the group, the new name had disappeared (and the old, deleted names reappeared).
Underlying that problem - and the real problem that drives me to write you - is that there is apparently no HELP function that would contain lot of How-To-Do-Directions. Having that would improve the program significantly.

Can you only rename group messages in iOS 8 if all participants use iMessage?

I was super excited about the new features in Messages for iOS 8, but it only seems to allow me to rename a Group if all members of the group are iPhone users. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a real limitation to the feature?

Can not edit mail non-universal group

Hi all,
After moving from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010, the previous distribution groups become mail non-universal groups and greyed out. i can not edit them anymore.
Some DGs contains some distribution groups or secutiry groups.
I can not create nested distribution groups anymore in Exchange 2010.
How can I make them not greyout and I am ble to edit them?

So I’d use the code above and run it a couple of times, just it will error groups with group membership but the first pass will change the scope of the child group and the second should change the scope of the parent group. This is a lazy approach
but I want to get you the code to create the DG’s ;o)
Once you have your groups at Universal level you can make DG’s
I use the code below to batch create DG's with prefixed names or email addresses

There's some code in there to get around some of our groups which had "_" in them and Exchange didn't like. If you just want enalbe the groups as DG's then remove the "Set-DistributionGroup" line

I've tried sixteen for my softball team and they get put into four different threads and it doesn't work. I also have two people without iPhones could that be the problem?

Why can't I leave group messages with iOS 8?

I updated my 5c to iOS 8 but I'm not able to leave group messages. I click under the Details for the group message but it doesn't present an option to leave.

I suspect your group message includes non-apple devices within the group?
I am able to leave group conversations that consist only of iPhones. However, I am unable to leave a group message that contains non-apple devices such as androids, dumb phones, etc. Very annoying, since the conversation I want to leave consists of non-apple devices
I have a potential solution: I'm going to try blocking one of the numbers from the group text. I'll post back my results.
If that doesn't work, I'm going to try turning off the "Group MMS" option within the settings, and then blocking the person who initially started the conversation.

Oh yeah, now I remember that.
But I also remember that you had to go all the way to the start of the message to gain access to the current contact information. Where as in iOS7 that button you mentioned is the contact information. Personally I perfer iOS7. I don't delete my messages, so this is better for me.
However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to add an Edit button in that sub menu that shows up when you touch the upper right button. Currently there are opitions for "Phone", "FaceTime" and "Information" on the contact.

Anyone else having problems with group messages in iOS 7?

Upgrade to iOS7 went fine. Everything worked smoothly up until about 6:30pm Central time. Can't send/receive group messages in iMessage. Anyone else?
Not sure if this is a problem with my phone or iMessage.

It has failed to work on two of my iOS devices. I am using air 2.6.
This is my code:

I have this problem too - and it is on a BRAND new iPhone 6 - I have definitively tracked the issue to the moment I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2 - and am beyond frustrated. Multiple Group Messages in iOS 8

I recently upgraded to iOS 8 after waiting a while in hopes that Apple would fix the basic bugs. Apparently that is not the case. I have a group chat with five of my friends that was working perfectly fine on iOS 7 but is having problems now that I am using iOS 8. The issue is that, despite having the exact same contacts, our group chats are being split into multiple chats. I have tried deleting redundant ones in hopes that they would merge back into one but it appears to not be possible.
All six of the people in the group chat have iPhones and we use iMessage to send our texts. None of us are using Apple IDs; this is done with the phone numbers.
How do I correct this problem? How do I have one thread for the group chat and not have to bounce back and forth just to read texts that are now being thrown out of order?
