Can't edit play list names

Recently I upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2 (12).
Now I can't edit playlist names. I click on the name and it briefly changes to the editable background, but changes back too quickly for me to change anything. The whole thing is really flaky. Yesterday it was working OK.
I'm using OSX 10.5.8 on a Mac Mini.
Anybody else experienced this?

Well, this must have been an iCloud bug. I launched iTunes today and the changes I attempted to make yesterday all took. Editing my list today works very quickly.

I have a similar issue with regards to the filename...
When I navigate to my website, it doesnt work unless I actually type the filename at the end of it. Example: type in "www.whitelion.com" (this is my real domain name) and it doesnt work. When I type in "www.whitelion.com/index.html" then it works.
This is obviously inconvenient because my clients will never know to add the filename to the end of the site.
Is there any setting or way to get the page to appear by just typing the original domain name without adding the extension?

No, the list isn't directly editable. However, if you reject the suggestion by tapping the "x" it will eventually learn the original word you typed and stop suggesting alternatives.

While I can't help you get back Playlists that have been deleted (by iTunes!), I can hopefully help you stop that happening again. The latest version of iTunes (on 4th July 2012) is 10.6.3.25 and this version fixes the bug that has been present (in iTunes) for the last few updates.
So first of all, make sure you have iTunes 10.6.3.25 installed.
For any Playlist you created, you will simply have to compile them again from memory, or by starting again.

Could you please explain more what you are trying to do and have done?
You can not purchase a domain name through Business Catalyst so you would have not obtained a domain you listed there. You have to by it from a domain registra.
If you have just entered a domain into the domain manager of your website but have not purchased the domain, this will not work. You have to obtain the domain first.
If you have got your domain, have you gone into the domain settings of BC and added the domain in? Have you gone to the domain registra and changed either the A-record or the NS records to point to your BC site?

Both Adobe DNG Profile Utility and the PassPort profile software very nicely create and install profiles in ACR. A profile name is given at the time of creation. Once installed in ACR, however, how can one edit the name of the profile?

Can't edit printer list, can't set up printers - Powermac G5, OSX 10.3.9

Hi,
I recently installed a new hard drive to our Powermac G5 and reinstalled OSX 10.3.9. While we had no problems printing previously I can't even install a printer now.
When I tried to print for the first time it automatically detected the Konica Minolta Bizhub printer we have, however it used a generic post script driver.
As soon as I saw that, I tried to install the printer properly, by doing this:
Click system preferences > click print and fax > click set up printers. Clicking set up printers has no effect. Neither does selecting 'Edit printer list' from the drop down menu of printers below.
The generic postcript driver will not work for us because there are certain functions that need to be enabled using the manufacturs driver for it to print properly. Consequently when I try and print it doesn't work.
What I've tried so far:
1)Restarting the machine. No effect.
2)Following some advice on the Apple website I have deleted the Library/printers folder, and reinstalled the driver from the Konica website then restarted the machine. No effect.

Change feed, can't edit prior list

I am the Director of Media Ministry at Argyle UMC, and I am having problems with my podcast.
Our website is a CMS site, so all I do is upload video/audio files, tell the files to attach to the "RSS", and I get the following feed:

This is the link I send to iTunes. However, I want more control over the podcast. The CMS adds NO extra info to the stream, so our iTunes page looks very blank: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=328711898
And because it is a CMS, I have no way of editing the file. So I created a feedburner feed based on the first link above:

This link should give me much more control over the info that iTunes receives on the stream. However I have no way of telling iTunes to change links to the new feed!
I figured "Oh well, I can just have two feeds up", so I went and tried to submit the FeedBurner feed, but it says "It appears the feed has already been submitted." I am guessing that this is based on the idea that both feeds have the same files inside of them.
Any idea on how to change the link that iTunes uses? Or how I can submit this new one in addition to the old one?

As this involves adding a special tag to the feed, and you can't edit the feed, the only thing you can do is to ask the iTunes Store to remove the podcast - for the method please see:

Once it's been removed you should in theory be able to submit the new feed. However a number of posters ave complained that even after their old podcast has been removed, they still get the 'already submitted' error - this may be a bug in the Store.
If this happens you will need to make a small change to the title of the podcast (of course you could do that and not bother to get the old one removed): it will then look like a new feed and should be accepted.
Incidentally your filenames have spaces in them: spaces are not allowed in a URL so the feed-writing software has to replace each of them with the code %20. This should work OK, but it's preferable not to have spaces in in the first place.

Can I edit the list of Genres?

I have a LOT of music on my Mac, and use iTunes to manage it.
Over several years, the Genre List has grown incredibly bloated, including many duplicates w/ spelling errors and variations.
Is there a way to edit this list?

3 years later, and this is still a problem. It's so clear that the primary use case for itunes is selling music, and not managing a music library (or at best passively accepting whatever genres the content providers wish to push).
For all its defects, Windows Media Player, circa 2005 was a great content management system for managing music - you could drag (or shift-select) and drop anything to shift genres, albums, artists. (WMP ***** now) All iTunes allows you to do is add to playlists, everything else is the tedious Get Info dialog.
And I just want a text list, I hate having to look at thumbnails for everything. I don't know or care what the album cover looks like, but clearly the marketing weasels at the record labels made it a requirement that you have to look at the stupid cover art even though that makes it incredibly difficult to scan a list or sort.

Can I edit metadata field names/titles?

I am looking to edit the metadata field names - not the names in the fields but the titles of the fields. Please see attached screenshot.

If you can, it would probably be via TranslatedStrings.txt file in program files directory, 'Resources' subdirectory, "2-char language ID" subdirectory.

I can not edit my events name.

I can not change the name of my events especially from "new event" I have tried restarting and validating my fonts to throwing out caches. I can change on Mobile me and my iphone but not on my computer. HELP!!!

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Can't see play list of new cd's bought in store

I recently bought a best of U2 cd, when I tried to import it into my iTunes. When the cd pulls up, no song info shows except for the time of each track. No song titles, no album name, no artist name pulls up. I've down loaded the latest itunes a couple of nights ago. Do I need to manually enter that info from now on??

Did you have an active internet connection at the time you tried importing the CD? If not, you'll get exactly what you're seeing, as iTunes will not have been able to query the Gracenote CDDB to retrieve the information. If you did, on the other hand, something else may be wrong, and you should try asking for help on the CDDB/Radio/Podcasting sub-forum.
