Can't edit script

Hi,
I've looked through forums where others have experienced the same problem:
- text is not editable, and seems to be locked.
Have tried Ctrl key to try and toggle this off, but only worked once.
What is the solution to having full access to an editable script please?

Hi Rohit,
I can send you the file in a few months after we've concluded filming.
For now I can't share the file.
Is this a common issue people have? I discovered a few similar cases in forums online.

i am using sqlserver data tools to build a package..
i have alot of script components...the problem is i wrote this package in machine A ... when i take the whole solution in machine B
i can not edit or see the script components projects files etc...
am i missing an atribute at package solution/project file?
because in ssis 2008 r2 version i can edit all of components (script componet,oledb source component...etc.)
...but in 2012 version of ssis i can not edit script component project..

I guess you need to upgrade the package/solution 1st to the SSIS 2012 format.
You need to go to Start-Microsoft SQL Server 2012->Integration Services and choose
Project Conversion Wizard .
Once the project (not just a package) is converted to SSIS 2012 open it in SSDT, access your Script Component and then choose
Design Script button

Can not edit scripts

APEX 3.1.1.00.09 running on XE
on "Home>SQL Workshop>SQL Scripts>Script Editor" there is no place to create a new script. There is an area that I would assume is for editing, but it is red and does not allow any typing in it.
I am wondering if this was a known problem.

Have you checked in the Workspace Administration (internal) in Home>Manage Service>Feature Configuration
if Allow PL/SQL Program Unit Editing is set to NO ?

Can not edit a "Script task" with error message

TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio
I try to edit the vb.net script in script task that I developed and get this message.
Any idea what happen and how to fix this.
Cannot show Visual Studio 2008 Tools for Applications editor.

The given path's format is not supported. (mscorlib)

Silviu investigated further and found the root cause.
Repro steps to break it (SSIS 2008 VSTA editor for Script Task/Script Component)
1. Edit script in VSTA
2. in VSTA File->Save As: save file somewhere on disk (intent is to back up script code)
3. close vsta.
4. OK script task dialog
5. Edit script in task again. Gives Error above.
This is a bug in the way SSIS calls into VSTA. Unfortunately SSIS cannot disable “Save As” functionality in the script designer which in turn will cause the error you are seeing the next time you try to load the script.
This is caused by the source file you saved in a location which is not under the project folder.
We have opened a bug for this in the next version of SQL Server, but the workaround is easy enough for anyone facing this in SQL 2008 or SQL 2008 R2.

Can I add a text form field in Photoshop that can be edited in Acrobat reader?

I design coffee labels with Photoshop then send them off to the printers. The printers then open up a PDF and put in the best before date before printing. At the moment I have to add the text form fields using Acrobat Pro after i've saved the photoshop document as a Photoshop PDF. The problem is if I want to edit the labels at a later date, I have to re-add the text form fields with Acroabat again.
Can I add a text form field in Photoshop that can be edited in Acrobat reader? Is it better to use another program for this task?

Sorry so late responding. In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

How can I edit a droplet for Photoshop 6?

How can I edit a droplet for Photoshop 6? The company hired somebody to set up the droplet years ago, and nobody remembers how it was set up. The computer that was used to save the files has crashed, and I need to change the path the droplet uses for saving the files. I tried to open the droplet with Image Ready, but it said it was not an image ready droplet and could not be opened. The computer running Photoshop is using Windows XP.

It seems that the script on the ps scripts page is to old to work in cs5.
This is a lnk to xtools 1.8 which has the latest version of the droplet decompiler:

Just unzip, find the Apps folder and look for the DropletDecompiler.jsx.
Then put your droplet on the desktop, Use File>Scripts>Browse in cs5 to navigate to the DropletDecompiler.jsx.

I am using sharepoint online and sharepoint designer 2013. Things were working fine but one day it suddenly stopped working. I have assigned site collection administrator to several accounts and I tried on different computers. I can not edit anything in
sharepoint designer 2013. Can not edit workflows, can not edit lists. Everything seems to be bugging out. I have reinstalled sharepoint designer and tried on different computers, all of them behave the same. I checked on all accounts I assigned site collection
admin to, they all have full control over everything. I can edit lists on the sharepoint site with no problem. Anyone knows what's going on?
I also created another blank site, same thing happens.

One straight forward way of doing it is from the UI (Which did not work in my case though :( )
1. Right-click the ONET.XML file ( at \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\SiteTemplates\<var><Service></var>\xml) for the site definition and open it with Notepad
       If you see “DisableWebDesignFeatures=wdfopensite” section in the one.xml that means your site has been configured to disallow SharePoint designer.
      You can remove this section from the file and should be able to access the site in designer now
2.   If you are unable to get rid of “DisableWebDesignFeatures=wdfopensite” or find the correct onet.xml corresponding to your site definition, here is a simple script I put together to see if Designer is disabled on the site using the property
vti_disablewebdesignfeatures2 and update it as required.

Can't edit in Design View

When I click Live View, I can see my page, and it shows up in a browser just fine, but I can't edit in that mode. However, when I click Live View again, I just get a gray, blank page with the tag, meta, sytle, script, and link icons at the top left. I've been tinkering with it for the last two hours, and nothing I try is getting the page to appear in Design, or Split view. It's driving me nuts. Any suggestions?

Reflection errors in Field Data Edit Scripting context(Line Item class)

Hello Experts,
I have a script that does some validation in the Field Data Edit Scripting context of the "Line Item" class, and I have "MATERIAL" as my target. when i try throwing an Application Exception in this context I get a reflection error message box instead of the message I have passed to the Application Exception constructor.

One thing to be aware of is that no matter how you choose to construct your exception in field, field data edit and collection scripts, the attribute is always set to the be the taget field/collection. Have you noticed that? The script designers made things that way. What's going on here is that the exception raised in the Interprer is caught by the Script Manager and rethrown with the script target as the attribute and your raised exception as the exception.
One other thing I would point out is that scripts set to execute on the Collection Member Lifecycle event tend to be poor performers. You can get a faster result if you edit whole collection and chain the errors onto one ChainException. I can only speculate as to why, but I have seen major improvements in complex scripts if I iterate the whole collection, versus implementing a collection memeber lifecycle validate event. This is counter-intuitive, but there it is.
Finally, exceptions raised in Collection Lifecycle Events that interupt the overall save process in the prescence of parent document Lifecycle Validation events can result in partially saved data. I observed this issue a few years back and it may be resolved now. The only member lifecycle event I use is Created, to lock, default, etc.
So, for your particular problem, you may want to rethink your strategy and see if you can get things to work for you bypassing that reflection issue. If you still can't raise the exception on MATERIAL, maybe you can raise it on another field, because another advantage of this approach is that you have full control to raise any error on any field on the Line Items.

Can't edit Media Kind in iTunes 9?

After updating to iTunes 9 I have found that I can't edit the "media kind" label on any of my tracks. This is particularly annoying as I use audiobooks a lot, and now I have to store them as music. In fact, it seems that I can't edit anything under Options at all, such as "skip when shuffling" etc. Any ideas? I have never had a problem with this before and any help would be much appreciated.

Just a couple of general points that may help in future.
Unless a file has the Podcast flag set, audio files imported into iTunes will be treated as Music (apart from m4b audiobooks) and video files as Movies. You need to manually change the Media Kind after import.
As well as "Media Kind" there is another property inside iTunes called "Video Kind" which indicates if a file is a Movie, TV Show or Music Video. Current builds of iTunes *do not* alter this value in tandem with a change in Media Kind. This could potentially cause problems with smart playlists and perhaps even remote access to the library. The Video Kind property can be set from script.
Given that Media Kind is an internal property of the iTunes database there is no good reason that it can't be applied to any file whether locked or not, but I suspect iTunes first checks for write permissions before making changes so permissions may be an issue whenever you are unable to change the Media Kind.
Unless your selected audiobook files are all in .m4b format iTunes will report any selection of two or more audiobook files as being Music. Ignore it. It can't handle mixed property values either, e.g. a mix of compilation and non-compilation tracks will always show as *Part of a compilation: No.*
When working with single audiobook files you cannot change the status of the *Remember playback position* and *Skip when shuffling* flags. Simply select more than one file to adjust.

Increase the size by increments of .1 until you get the size you want. You'll need to publish the site before you'll see the change.
If you only have a couple of pages in your site you can create your own text based navbar. That will give you complete control over font, size, color, spacing, etc. However, be sure to use only Web Safe Fonts or the navbar will not look like you want it on those computers that do not have the font you used installed. This demo page is an example: Text Based Navbar. With more than a couplke of pages updating such a navbar can become a real pain. However, it is much more search engine friendly.

Crop And Straighten Photos - Changing parameters / Editing Script

Hi. I am currently using the Crop and Straighten Photos automation to crop scans of 10 to 12 maps that are scanned on a large flat bed scanner.
A lot of the plans have rough edges and aren't always completely square. Is it possible to allow a tolerance (eg. 5mm, or 20pixels etc) before cropping each image? I've tried editing a .jsx script that was submitted on this forum (the script was designed to crop more border from the image, as opposed to leaving more image) but this simply added a black border around my image as it enlarged the canvas side once the image had already been cropped.
Instead, I need the selection area to be increased prior to cropping.
Does anyone have an idea on whether I can get a script to do what I am looking for?
Furthermore, if two or more of the maps are joined at all by a hair or a frayed string of canvas from the map's backing then the Crop and Straighten Photos automation considers it to be one map and crops it as only one image. Is there a way of increasing this tolerance to make the cropping process more brutal so to speak?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Christoph.
I'd realised that once i made the post, and yes, the duplicate and flatten parts in the process are unnecessary, they have been removed. The action is set up now so that once it crops the individual images, it closes the main image down, and then saves and closes the individual images. It is setup to save and close 12 images (as this is the most there will ever be in my case), and I set the action to post errors to a log rather than halt, so if there are less than 12 files it will continue and just post an error in the file. It works really well now thanks!!
I then run an action that options each individual file and brings up the "save as" dialog. This is a chance to perform a QA on the image and to save it as the correct name on the plan.
However, the action is currently setup so that it creates a complete new image each time and closes the original. This is the only way I can make the "Save as" dialog point to the new destination as if I simply open and "save as" the original files, the default folder always resets back to the original folder where the cropped images are. I'll have to investigate other methods of opening and renaming the images to help speed this part of the process up.

Editing Script Component in VS2013 launches VS2012?

New SSIS developer here.
Using VS Premium 2013 RTM (12.0.21005.1 REL) with SSDT 12.0.30919.1 and SQL Server Integration Services.
I have a Business Intelligence -> Integration Services project (an SSIS project), and when I create a Script Component in a Data Flow Task and click "Edit Script...", it launches Visual Studio 2012.
The ScriptLanguage property for the Script Component is set to "Microsoft Visual C# 2012". I don't see an option for "Microsoft Visual C# 2013" (if such a thing exists?).
Questions:
1. How can I set VS2013 to call VS2013 (and NOT VS2012) for editing the C# in my Script Component? I can create/edit/build a straight C# project just fine in VS2013, so how to do I get VS2013 to edit C# in the Script Component instead of launching VS2012?
2. What is the relationship between the version of Visual Studio ("Visual Studio 2013") and the version of the languages available/defaulted in the ScriptLanguage setting ("Microsoft Visual C#/Visual Basic 2012")?

You cannot as the Script Task is done via VSTA which is VS 2012 Shell. And there is not such need;
