Can't email a photo from LR 5 ??

I can no longer export a photo in an email or email a photo from a right click on the photo. An error message appears that windows has a problem and the the program (LR 5) has to shut down. I've tried different export settings with the same result. This used to work just fine. I can export to the hard drive without a problem. I'm running Windows 8.1, outlook for email , and Avast for antivirus. Any help would be appreciated.

Adobe is aware of the problem.
My advice until it's working again - use a work-around, e.g.
* MapiMailer - what I used to use, and still works.
* Outlook Script - what I use now, even though Lr's native emailing is still working for me (knock on wood) - win7/64 + Outlook 2007.
* Or just email to disk then drag to email... (tip: have post-processing auto-open the folder where you've exported the files for email).

I'm having a similar issue I think - in iPhoto I select an image then hit Share then select email and it pops open an email for the address to be entered but the contents are blank, sending the email arrives blank - same thing sobersue ?
If so I've logged a bug report with Apple Techs about it ...

You have a number of things that will make this not work.
Your mailto link is not the way to go, take a look at this and it should get you on the right path.

On your action page, you can have it give the thank you message that you want. Having a seperate page saying they forgot to do something complicates matters more than you might wish at this point, and usually irritates people. however if you decide you want to go that way, look up "sticky forms". What this does is re-populate the fields when they have to go back to correct.
A better way would be to validate the information, you can use Spry if you want which is built into dreamweaver.
You also have in your html form this
enctype="multipart/form-data"
That is used for sending files, and since you are not, the form would not work, so you want to remove it.
Hopefully that will give you a starting point.

Not all of the users in our environment have this issue. If the users having this issue, install a secondary email account, Gmail, Hotmail, etc, then they can send through those accounts. Why would the exchange account not be seen to send photos?

Sounds like it worked until the policies associated with the account that are creating the problem were fully pushed down.
Try setting up a new (test) Exhange account and see if it behaves the same way on the phone (after removing the problem account from the phone, of course).

There is no Safari email. Do you mean you use a Web Based email service like Yahoo or Gmail and access it via Safari?
sent the photo from iPhoto by following on screen instructions under 'share' in iPhoto
Iphoto sends HTML emails so that will never send as an attachment.

I can send all the photos from my phone to the Verizon Cloud, but there's no ability to do the opposite. No "send as Text" option, no "compose message" button. The old Pix Place had this option, so why doesn't the Cloud?

I figured out that I could use the message selection it gives and just type in my email address and it worked. I dont know why the email selection never worked, it just kept asking me to enter id and password and then telling me I have an account? The email function from iPhoto is pretty basic. The only Bcc available is to yourself (in iPhoto > Preferences > Advanced), cc: does not appear to be available at all, and it does not appear you can email to a group.
You can change this by going to iPhoto > Preferences > General and next to where it says Email photos using: select Mail. If you do this you have all the options available in Mail including Cc: and Bcc: and the ability to drag a group from Address Book into the mail addresses.

You can't. iCloud is not for general file backup from a Mac. It's for backup up and syncing data between mobile devices and and Macs and The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: Backup and restore overview.
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your (mobile) device using iOS 5 or later. Once you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch .....
What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
