Can't enable bluetooth second time after 3.0 upgrade

Question

Since the iPhone 3.0 upgrade, I can only enable bluetooth once. If I turn bluetooth off, then attempt to turn it on again, it appears to crash and I am not able to turn on bluetooth. The only way I can enable bluetooth is to turn the phone off, then back on.

I'm not sure what you mean by turning "automatically join networks" on.
Under Settings->Wi-Fi, I have turned on "Ask to Join Networks," which is what I think you mean -- it says, "Known networks will be joined automatically. If no known networks are available, you will be asked before joining a new network." But even if I turn that toggle off, it still says, "Known networks will be joined automatically. If no known networks are available, you will have to manually select a network."
The behavior I had in the past was that my iPod would reconnect to my office network when I woke it from sleep, so I feel confident it's always automatically connected in the past, and is set as it should be to do so in the future. (Even while asleep, it would occasionally alert me to new e-mail. Since it loses its connection now, it doesn't do so.) Either way, I'm confused about why attempting to manually rejoin a known network would even occasionally get me an "Unable to join network" message, when tapping "Other ..." and re-entering that same network's settings would be successful. Seems it is able to join that network, but won't do it automatically -- and occasionally won't do it unless I teach it about that network all over again.
But there's also that "Auto-Join" toggle I've mentioned above, on the Wi-Fi Network settings page for this particular network. No matter how I try to turn that toggle on, it reverts off as soon I scroll down the page or tap the button in the top bar to return to the Wi-Fi Networks screen.
For what it's worth, it remembers my home Wi-Fi network just fine, and connects automatically when reentering range of my router. It also reconnects when waking from sleep, and periodically while asleep as well.
