Can't enable web services for groups (wiki) in WGM

I'm having trouble creating a wiki on my server. More specifically, in WGM, I cannot enable web services for a group. The pull-down menu is accessible, but the only option is "(None)."
I have users and groups set up in OD (they are not local).
I have a working default web page.
I have web services enabled in Server Admin.
I can create and access user blogs.
My user and group folders are on a raid drive instead of the main drive - I'm wondering at this point if there's a problem with a folder name or permissions. WGM just doesn't seem to recognize that there's a site on my server.

    Hey bobupton!
Try going into the printer's EWS and using Google's public DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). It sounds like you know what you're doing so I skipped a few steps on how to get there but if you need more help with it let me know!

  • Can't enable web services/eprint

For some reason my Hp6700 will not allow me to enable web services/e-print

    dcousine,
The first thing I would try in this situation is a network reboot.
First, disconnect the power cord from the back of your router.
Next disconnect the power cord from either the back of the printer or the wall, without powering it off first.
Wait about 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to your router.
Wait about another 30 seconds and plug the printer back in. It should boot back up automatically, but if it doesn't go ahead and press the power button.
Once everything is back up and running, try to enable ePrint.
If that doesn't work for you, let me know and I can give you some more steps to try.

  • Enable web services for hp envy 5530

I keep getting enable web services when I am trying to scan a document. I have clicked on yes about a million times but it wont let me move forward with scanning my documents. I am using MAC OS system.

    Hi @cixxpac77,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.   I see that you are getting a message to enable the web services on your Envy 5530 printer when trying to scan.
From your description I suspect that you are trying to use the scan to email feature of your printer.  This feature requires that you setup the ePrint feature of the printer.
The first step is to please ensure your printer is connected to your wireless network.  This can  be easily accomplished from the front panel of the printer using the Wireless Setup Wizard.  If you are unsure how to do this, the steps can be found in your User Guide on page 55 in the section titled “To connect the product with the Wireless Setup Wizard”.
Once the printer is connected to your wireless network, let’s enable web services.  The steps to enable the web services can be found in the Getting the Printer Claim Code document.   If you wish to customize the printer’s ePrint email address I have included the Setting Up a Custom Email Address for HP ePrint document.
If you encountered an connection error message when trying to enable web services, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer.  I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screenshots, on how to do this.  Don’t worry that the screen shots are for an Officejet 4630  the steps are the same.
Please let me know the outcome.

  • M451dn can not enable web service tab

    I BOUGHT A NEW LASERJET PRO 400 M451DN
    NETWORKED PRINTING WORKS PERFECTLY
TRYING TO ENABLE WEB SERVICE TAB AND SAYS "CONNECTION ERROR CHECK CONNECTION"

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP
    JOHN

    Hello,
The first thing I would do is follow step six in this document to set a static IP: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02817031&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4023246&tmp...
When it askes for DNS information, enter in Google's DNS. Preferred DNS = 8.8.8.8 Alt DNS = 8.8.4.4
If the printer is on a corporate network, it may require a proxy to get an internet connection.
If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out. First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)? Second, who is the maker of your router? Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

  • Officejet 6500a Plus - can't enable Web Services

Any help would be appriated on this - I've tried trawling Google to no avail!
I'm trying to enable Web services on my printer to use apps, ePrint, Airprint, e.t.c. When I press Web Services setup, I accept the terms and conditions and am instantly taken to a product update check. The screen then displays 'No product updates available for this printer' with only an 'OK' button to press, when I do I am taken back to the terms and conditions. I am stuck in a permanent loop! All other services (print, scan) work fine and the printer is definitely connected to the internet.
    I have tried:
    -Restoring factory defaults
    -Turning off printer and router.
-Changing DNS settings for the printer.
Any other suggestions - I'm getting really frustrated now so would appreciate any ideas!!

  • How to enable Web services for CP 1525nw

    Hi,
I am unable to use ePrint for LaserJet CP 1525nw. Printer connected over WiFi. Tried to Enable Web services and saw the message "Connection error Check connection". Firmware is up-to-date. Use the printer in different applications on PC, iPad and iPhone. Everything is working well not ePrint. HP diagnostics did not describe any problems.

    Hello Prophet097,
Setting manual network information may help the enabling of Web Services for ePrint on your printer.
    To do so:
On the printer's control panel, press "OK" two times to access the reports menu.
Press the right arrow to select "Network Summary" and press "OK" to print the report.
Open an internet browser on a computer within the same network as the printer.
In the address bar, type the printer's "IPv4 Address" and press "Enter", this should take you to a page about your printer.
Click on the "Network" tab at the top of the page.
Click on "IPv4 Configuration" on the left-hand side.
Click the bubble to the left of "Manual" to allow you to input manual settings.
Input the same information from the "Network Summary" into the fields for "IP Address", "Subnet Mask", and "Default Gateway".
Note- None of those fields should be "0.0.0.0"0 or "169.254.xx.xx". If they are, there maybe network issues with the printer.
In the "Preferred DNS Server" and "Alternate DNS Server", this could vary by the size of your network.
-Preferred DNS Server- If you are on a small network, input the same value as the "Default Gateway".
-Alternate DNS Server- If you are on a small network, input either "0.0.0.0" or "8.8.8.8."
Note- If you are on a domain, you may have specific DNS Server information that needs to be in the fields.
    Click "Apply" on the page.
Power the printer off and then on.
Try to enable Web Services again.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

  • Can't Enable Web Services on a M276nw printer

    Hi,
I am having trouble enabling HP Web Services on M276nw printer. Whenever I hit the "Enable" button it either says "Can't connect" or the loading page stays on for so long (have waited for more than 15mins) that I have to cancel the process manually. The printer is connected to the internet via wireless connection and to a computer, from which it was set up - again wirelessly.
I have looked at the forums here and tried powering off the printer and then the wireless router and them powering everyting on again, tried connecting to different wireless networks, but still can't enable Weservices.
I tried manually setting up a IPv4 connection, but unfortunately when I access the printer throughits IP adress in a browser, I can't see this specific part of the screen (as referred to by several people on the forums) where I can input DNS server details. Obviously my IPv4 Configuration Menu does not have these options.
Does anyone have ideas how I can solve this problem?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Regards,
    Xepo

    Hi Shlomi,
Many thanks for getting back to me. I tried your solution, but unfortunately doesn't work for me again.
I set up the DNS like you advised and as shown in the attached screenshot. After trying to enable webservices, it gives it a couple of tries and then show connection error.
Do you have any other suggestions? Anything is appreciated
    Regards,

  • Can't enable web services on LJ Pro 1102w

The printer is connected to the wireless network just fine but when I try to click Enable on Web Services I get an error "Connection Failed".  Giving the printer a fixed IP address doesn't help and neither does adding to the public IP list.
    Suggestions?

    Hello cmerrill,
The first step I would try is power cycling the printer. You can do this by following these steps:
While the printer is still on, unplug the power cord from the printer, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
Also, I would make sure the printers firmware is up to date. You can check by visiting the printers support webpage and selecting the Operating System you are using at:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?Product=4110396&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

  • Can;t enable web service on HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a

HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a we have installed this printer as a network printer.  Everything works fine except that I cannot enable the Web service to EPrint or scan to an email.  It says the printer cannot access the internet.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Hello. First power cycle the printer, and the router to see if that will clear up the error message. To do that unplug the router then power down the printer using the power button. Then plug the router back in and once it is back up an running, turn on the printer and try to reconnect to web services
Then, if still unable to connect, I would set a static DNS on the printer. To set a static DNS you must access the embedded web server (EWS). You do that by entering the IP address for the printer into the address bar of the browser of your choice.
Once it brings up your Officejet's EWS, locate the tab that is labeled “Network”. From there look in the left column on the new page that will pop up and select IPv4, wired or wireless will depend on how the printer is connected to the network. That will bring up the page to set the Static DNS. It will be the 2nd portion of that page.
Set the radial dial to manual. Then, for the Manual preferred/Primary DNS, set it to 8.8.8.8 and the Manual Alternative/Secondary to 8.8.4.4; then click apply.
NOTE: if another message with an option to click “OK” appears, read that message carefully. Most of the time it is an option to undo the change you just did and you will want to avoid clicking that message. Just navigate away from that page by clicking on another tab.
Power cycle the printer. Once printer is back up and through with calibrations from being turned off and on. Reattempt to connect to web services by touching the icon.

  • Cant enable ePrint web services for Color LaserJet M551

    Hi,
I've read all posts in this forum about the ePrint web services enabling issue and tried out all suggestions with no luck.
    Here is the situation:
The printer works fine locally. I can print without problem.
    The printer is wired.
All ports in my router are open for outbound connections, including UDP.
Using communication logs in my router I can see that the printer can resolve the DNS-names using either my ISP DNS-server or the suggested 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Using nslookup shows "registration-pro-site1print.houston.hp.com" resolves to 15.240.60.111 and "registration-pro-site2print.houston.hp.com" resolves to 15.201.224.79.
This indicates that the printer can indeed resolve the addresses. The logs also reveils that the printer communicates with the servers (connection established and data transferred) over https (probably the web service) but still after some minutes the enabling process times out.
I've tried this enabling procedure for several days now so my believe is that the registration servers should have worked some time during that period.
    I'm frustrated
