Can't enter password to update apps

iP4 with latest iOS updates.
Well this is strange.
When I try to install app updates, the little box shows up to enter my password, but the keyboard does not show up,so I can't enter the password.
Anyone else seen this?

What do you mean a "more fuller update" from software update? Do you mean the updates I automatically get from apple software update are not actually the latest snow leopard updates? I'm very confused.

they're generally pretty useless and typically solve most problems by saying to reinstall everything.
That has never been my experience with Apple Care the few times I have used it.

Yes, you can delete them from your phone by tapping the icon until it jiggles, then tap the black x. You can verify that your Apple ID is still correct for future purchased by going to Settings>Store>Apple ID (at the bottom). If it's wrong, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using your ID. Then you should be good to go.

If it really does not work, change your password here https://appleid.apple.com (Manage account) and try to add the account again. I hope it helps.

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.

Still need a password to update apps purchased by another Family Sharing member!

On iOS 8.1, I can enter App Store app, tap on the Purchased tab at the bottom, and then tap the upper-left corner to choose one of the members in the same Family Sharing members, then tap on the "download cloud" icon next to any apps purchased by that member. Doing so, I don't need to enter the password that Family Sharing member's Apple ID. But, whenever apps, those purchased by other Family Sharing members, have an update, I would need to change the Apple ID to that Family Sharing member and enter the password, in order to enable the app update. Or, those apps will stay on the Updates page of the App Store app, waiting to be updated, forever.

No. To update apps you have to sign intot he account that purchased them.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

Multiple passwords for updating apps

I have a problem with updating apps on an iphone. I have changed my password on 2 ocassions whilst my account remains the same. The problem is everytime I try to update downloaded apps I get asked for a password. If I use the current password it will only work for apps downloaed with this password. Older downloaded apps ask for my old - now defunct passwords. Therefore I often have to try 3 times to enter different passwords before the app will update. Frustrating and time consuming! and requires me to remmber old passwords. Is there a solution to this dumb problem?

Mac App Store and iTunes Store content is not tied to passwords, it is tied to Apple IDs. An app can only be updated by the ID that bought it.

IPhone is asking for an old Apple ID's password when updating apps.

So here's a strange thing. I have two Apple IDs. As far as I can tell, everything is set-up to use only 1 of those IDs, and the other, I just don't even touch. But when purchasing or updating apps on my iPhone, it asks me for the password of teh Apple ID account that I don't use. I know you can't delete an Apple ID account (which I find VERY annoying!), so does anyone know how I can just completely migrate to the primary account so it stops asking me for my old password on the old account?

My understanding thus far is that each App purchase is tied to only the xact Apple ID that was used to purchase it. So supposedly if you change your Apple ID those Apps bought on the Old Apple ID are not transferable to a new Apple ID. The reason for this would be that otherwise people could endlessly share their purchased Apps with other Users with different Apple ID's, who would not have to pay for the use of the Apps.

New iPhone 6 asks for my girlfriends password to update apps, even though the phone is connected to my itunes account?

My phone is hooked up to my iTunes account, but when i go to update apps, it asks for my girlfriends iTunes password? I only go the phone today, but havent had this trouble before with iPhone 4 or 5.

If that's the case you may have to disable wifi syncing in her user account using her iTuens library. I'm really not sure though. If someone does, hopefully they'll jump in here. The problem with chaning libraries is that when you do, iTunes will delete any iTunes media on the phone and replace it with the media in the iTunes library you sync with so hopefully this won't be necessary.

This may be a stupid question but my iPhone asks me for a password for every App I update unless I click Update All then it will only request my apple id once.

Okay, so my password is one of the accents. To enter it, you hold down a letter and the letters with accents pop up. I know, stupid idea, but no one ever guesses it. Yesterday, my friend disabled it for a joke, and so I waited for it to recover the full minute, and now I can't enter my password. I kept trying and now I've just stopped because the last time it disabled it was for an hour. How do I fix this? Now I can"t even access my alarm clock or anything. It's the iPod 5.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

ITouch stuck in "iPod is Disabled" mode and I can not enter password, How do I correct this?

To who ever can assist me...
My little sister recently experienced the feeling of having her iTouch stolen from her @ school. Since the incident occured, two of her best friends located her iTouch and returned it back to my sister. When my sister attempted to turn the device on, she noticed that the screen that appeared showed her wallpaper, (which was a picture of herself) and the red box message at the top of the screen that indicated "iPod is Disabled"(below that statement states) "connect to iTunes"
So in seeing this message she connected the device to the family laptop. She proceed to open the iTunes program. Once the program was opened, she waited for the iTunes to read her iTouch. Once iTunes attempted to read the device the following error message appeared within iTunes stating:
"iTunes could not connect to the iPod "Delilah's iPod"because it is locked with a password. You must enteryour passcodeon the iPod before it can be used with iTunes."
With that error message coming up, the question then came to be, how do I enter my password if the Touch does not provide me that option to do so? The Touch is stuck in this "Disabled" mode and the screen that appears does not present option of entering password or anythihng for that matter.
With this issue, is there anyone out there that has experience this touble? Is there a solution, and if yes, could you please guide and advise us on what action to take? Unfortunatley, my sisters warrenty has expired. So i know that if the issue requires for us to take it in for repair that we may have to pay for the repairs services, but it would be worth it if I can see that there is or is not an answer for this problem.

Can't enter password for 5 million minutes (malfunction)

I have an ipod touch I have had for over 2 years. One day it just pops up that I have to wait over 4 million minutes before I can even enter my password to open it. I realize that it is a security thing, but it is a malfunction in my ipod. Since Apple doesnt give a crap because their warranties are so short, they say that the only thing I can do is restore it, which will erase pictures along with tons of songs I have downloaded that I will have to repay for since you can only download once. The computer it is backed up on is 2000 miles away. I know what my password is... Is there a way to get this bypassed so that I can enter my password before waiting 5 million minutes to use it again?

according to this article, the only thing you could try is this:
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced to the iPhone or iPod touch, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode but your data will not be present.

Earlier today while using my iPhone with Telenav, it suddenly just quit working! It felt hot and wouldn't come back on for a few mins. When it did come back on, it said Restore needed. However, when I connect iPhone to computer, iTunes cannot connect because of password!!! iPhone will NOT allow me to enter password! Thanks - I tried that just now. Didn't work. The passcode prevents the phone from being accessed. I have no idea what the guy used when he did it before but it was like magic.. there was a green button, he clicked it, the password screen went away and the iPhone home screen just popped up like nothing - I wish I could figure this out. If this program could override the password it would be absolutely perfect. Any other suggestions?

Isn't updating apps supposed to not require an iTunes password anymore in iOS 6? I thought that was the case, but my iPhone 4 keeps asking for one when there is an update available. Does anybody know what to do besides restoring? Anyone else having similar issues?

I have a hunch that, for me, the issue is because I have two different accounts synced. I have my parent's account for the App Store and my personal account linked to iCloud and all those services. I've noticed that when I update apps, I would sometimes have to log out of one and into the other because one app might be on one account and not the other. I'll get around to moving everything to one account sooner or later, but it isn't an immediate issue to me. Just a minor inconvenience.
