Can't enter text in threaded frame

How basic can this be?
After writing one book I'm preparing master pages for a second. When I created this document I selected the "master" option
I've copied master spreads in the lower frame of the Pages box. I liked several frames on the spreads together.
Now I've come back to those pages. I can select the frame but I can't enter text manually or pasting. The text cursor will not stay in the frame.
My goodness. How elementary can this be, what the heck am I missing?
Thank you for your help.
Scott

What I did was go back to the master pages and delete the existing text frames and rebuilding. That took
care of it.
Thanks for your prompt help. I appreciate it.

  • HOW can I enter text using Japanese character sets?

The "Text, Plates, Insets" section of the LOOKOUT(6.01) Help files states:
"Click the » button to the right of the Text field to expand the field for multiple line entries. You can enter text using international character sets such as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese."
Can someone please explain HOW to do this? Note, I have NO problem inputting Hirigana, Katakana, and Kanji into MS WORD; the keyboard emulates the Japanese layout and characters (Romaji is default) and the IME works fine converting Romaji, and I can also select charcters directly from the IME Pad. I have tried several different fonts with success and am currently using MS UI Gothic.ttf as default. Again, everything is normal and working in a predictable manner within Word.
I cannot get these texts into Lookout. I can't cut/paste from HTML pages or from text editors, even though both display properly. Within Lookout with JP selected as language/keyboard, when trying to type directly into the text field, the IME CORRECTLY displays Hirigana until <enter> is pressed, at which point all text reverts to question marks (?? ???? ? ?????). If I use the IME Pad, it does pretty much the same. I managed to get the "Yen" symbol to display, though, if that's relevant. As I said, font selected (in text/plate font options) is MS UI Gothic with Japanese as the selected script. Oddly enough, at this point the "sample" window is showing me the exact Hirigana character I want displayed in Lookout, but it won't. I've also tried staying in English and copying unicode characters from the Windows Character Map. Same results (Yen sign works, Hirigana WON'T).
    Help me!

  • Can't enter text in certain forum dialog boxes (java?)

On certain forums and sites, I am unable to click on a dialog box and enter text. When I click in the box, it either highlights the line or the whole box but does not allow me to enter any text - the keyboard does not appear. I do not have an option to paste text either. The text/dialog boxes look similar to the one I am writing in right now. For my online classes, I use Moodle, and that's one of the sites that causes this issue. It was an issue also on my iPhone but I was hopeful that it would work differently on the iPad.
There are two methods I've found to enter text. One is through HTML and the second is unreliable -sometimes if I click in the box while I refresh, I can get the keyboard to pop up.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Java is enabled and I've tried clearing everything.

According to what I read on another forum entry - to do with WYSIWYG editors - this is a problem with Safari. Apparently, it doesn't handle Javascript correctly in all cases. I administer Joomla sites and Safari on a standard machine, let alone an iPad, gives me a lot of grief. So, on any other machine I use Chrome or FireFox. Sadly, this isn't an option on an iPad. We're stuck with Safari - whether we like it or not!

  • Can't enter text in a box?

I have a government form that I created in LiveCycle and it automatically filled in the correct boxes with a text box.  In the design view mode the orange boxes exist but some boxes allow me to enter text and numbers and others will not.  I can't determine what is different from one box to the other.  I have deleted the boxes and started over, cutting and pasting from the boxes that work.  Help would be appreciated.

    Hi ,
I guess you have saved the form as static . Inorder to save the from as dynamic . Click on Save As then click on Adobe Dynamic XML forms.
Inorder to develop interactive forms you should also pre-view it in interactive format . Fot this click on File -> Form Properties - >Preview .Then Click on the preview type as interactive form and preview Adobe XML form as Dynamic XML form .Try this and let's see what happens.
    Thanks.

  • Can't enter text in Message

WHen using Message, I,can't access the text box by tapping. Address and photos can be entered, but no Message. Is this a tactile problem?

If you are able to type text in emails, documents and any other areas where text can be input, I don't see how this could be a tactile problem. Are you able to enter text elsewhere?
Did you try rotating the iPad in different directions to make sure that you don't have a problem with a particular part of the screen? Did you try closing the Messages app completely and start over again? Any other information that you can provide?
In in the meantime, try a reset. This fixes some really weird unexplainable problems.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • When using firefox beta can not enter text into reply areas on forums.

When visiting vbulletin type sites, the firefox beta will not enter text into the message reply text box. Seems to be only a problem on honeycomb os.

This sounds like a known bug in Firefox 4: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=624163
We have a fix ready for this bug. The fix will be included in an upcoming version of Firefox. If you want to help us test the fix today, you can download a pre-release version from the "Aurora" channel here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#Download_Aurora

  • Can you enter text into "info" pop-up window for TV Shows?

It's not a big deal, but I was just wondering if there is a way (a script perhaps) of entering text into the little "info" pop-up window for TV Shows in iTunes? (You know the one...it pops-up when you click on the little "i" in the description box on the TV Shows main playlist)
The show files I made myself have blank info windows of course and it would be nice to be able to enter a decent length description of the episode (the character limit in the "Description" box is so short).
Like I said, it's not a big deal, but it would be nice to be able to enter info in there...so if anybody knows how...please let me know.
    Yhanx a lot!

Thank you very much for your reply! I will definitely pass this along to the IT department! Smiling now!

  • Can't enter text in iBooks fields (desktop app)

NOTE:  I dunno how replies here are routed back to the post-er. If this site uses the email address tied to my apple store account I won't get your reply.
I am asking here about the Mac, or desktop, version of iBooks.  Why can't I add or edit text in the document info fields?   <see inserted screen shot>    Most of my PDFs are song lede sheets or lyric sheets I have created. I often need to tweak the Title and/or Author info.  Again --  I am NOT talking about eBooks but about PDF documents and PDF collections that the user stores in iBooks. Modifying the text in these fields via iTunes was a snap.   When Mavericks renived iBooks from its original iTunes portal to a standalone app, it dissed all the special test I had entered into the author and category fields.  It kept the file name and nothing else.   All my PDFs entered the new iBooks showing  my name as the author  (??)
I have tried CMD-I cliicking on the files ... OPT-I....CTRL-I ...other keystrokes.  I find no way to pull up a file info window or other interface that lets me edit these fields.  I can't even change the NAME of the document without opening it, making a SAVE AS> copy to the desktop, changing the file name on the desktop, then reimporting the newly named file to replace the old one.  Ugh!  Is that really how Apple designed this desktop version?    -- David in Kansas City
[Yes, yes. I user other PDF-management apps that are great and more versatile.  GoodReader is probably my favorite.  But I had enjoyed iBooks to this point as a base station -- a central location for all PDF files]   The ones I want to annotate or modify in other ways are sent over to GoodReader]

    Hi Nick,
Was the 'auto find' feature added by a Safari add-on? I don't recall Safari doing that by default. It sounds like that add-on is now interfering with the newer Safari - uninstall it if possible.

  • Can't enter text in text fields

I'm typing this up in text edit and then having to copy/paste everything i type into this text field. I had to do the same with my username and password.
I just downloaded the most recent OS update, which 'upgraded' my safari to 3.0.4, I'm running a PowerBook G4, with OS X 10.4.11.
Every time I try to type text in a text field (usernames, searches, forum posts, anything) it starts the 'find' feature and looks up where it is on the page. My previous version of safari also had this feature, where it auto'find'-ed things on the page, but not when I had a blinking cursor in a text box. Any help with this, as its pretty much rendered my version of the internet into 'look but don't touch'. I can't even log in to my email without copy/paste from a text editor.

  • Enter Text in Price difference line item in MIRO

    Hello,
My user wants to enter text in price difference account line item in MIRO. I tried to do it in MIRO simulation by doubl click on line item. But it does not show as we normally see in FI documents.
Please advise how can I enter text in price difference line item while doing MIRO. Since this account gets posted automatically.
    Regards,
    Tapan

    Hi,
You can create substitution with exit in GGB1/ OBBH
In exit, give a popup for this price difference line item and in that popup user can enter the text and then fill that text in the line item.
Your ABAper should be able to do it.

  • How to enter TEXT data using rules files

    Hi,
How can i enter text data using rules files?
    Thanks,
    A

If you are talking about planning members with a text data type then it is not possible to load the actual text string using a load rule, essbase just stores a numeric value and the text string relating to that numeric value is stored in the planning applications relational tables.
If you want to load text directly then you can load data through the planning layer, more information available at - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/ch05s02s01.html

  • ENTER TEXT

    Hi,
how can I enter text in the log on screen, where we enter our user id and password?
for example how can i enter the text "in case of any problems with login call ext-111"?
    Regards
    Deepak

    Here is the note contents:
    <b>Summary
    Symptom</b>
You want to display a customer-specific text on the SAPGui logon screen.
    <b>Other terms</b>
SAPMSYST, screen 0020, logon, login, signon, sign on screen, logon screen
    <b>Reason and Prerequisites</b>
Before Release 4.6 the logon screen, program SAPMSYST screen 0020, was modified for this. As of Release 4.6, modification is no longer necessary.
    <b>Solution</b>
As of Release 4.6 it is possible to display customer-specific texts on the SAPGui logon screen. See 4.6A release note BC_46A_LOGIN_INFO.
Go to Transaction <b>SE61</b> and select the document class 'General Text' (selection using F4 help), and create a text with the name ZLOGIN_SCREEN_INFO in the system language determined with the profile parameter zcsa/system_language.
If the text does not exist in the system language, no output is made.
Note that there is space on the logon screen for 16 lines for every 45 fixed-font characters or for approximately 60 proportional font characters.
Title lines (can be recognized by format keys starting with a 'U') are highlighted in the display.
You may also output icons at the beginning of lines by using an icon code (for example, @1D@ for the STOP icon). You can get a list of icon codes from Report RSTXICON. Pay attention to the codes with two '@' symbols displayed by the report. You cannot include text symbols. The function 'include character' cannot be used.
Creating/changing this text requires a changeable system. Therefore, for production systems, SAP recommends maintaining the text in the upstream system and then transporting it. To do this, select a transportable (customer) development class when you create the text and save the active version prior to the export.
The transport is done via the transport object R3TR DOCT ZLOGIN_SCREEN_INFO
The text can be changed in the original system only (see TADIR entry R3TR DOCT ZLOGIN_SCREEN_INFO). When making a change in a non-original system, a modified text would be generated which cannot be represented sensefully on the initial screen.
Caution - changed functions as of Release 6.40
Except for the above-mentioned formatting possibilities for:
         - headings ('U') and
         - icons at the beginning of a line
no further formatting is available that was was previously possible using SAPScript.
    Warning
If you modify screen SAPMSYST 0020 (in older releases), then note that you may only insert text elements.
Changes to the flow logic, for example, by inserting subscreen, force a change in program SAPMSYST.
SAP strongly recommends not changing the system program SAPMSYST because by doing so, serious problems may arise (for example, the dialog logon is generally no longer possible!)

  • Black dot in text box, can't enter texg

    Hello,
I have a black dot in both text boxes, and when I try to enter text, the canvas gets "crazy" on the left side. I fixed it this morning, but now I have it again, and I can't recall what I did to fix it.
    Thank you

Your guess is correct, Sir Doug of Gilmore, as is your suggestion to create a new track.
The black dot appears when the selected track is a graphic or other object, such as a background.
To the original poster and asker of questions, LiveType treats eveything as if it were typeable. Press any key and your object will appear once more, in so far as that it fits in the frame.
Please do not ask which one is the "Any" key.
Disclaimer: "typeable" is not neccessarily a word that you will find in a dictionary.

  • When I select a title or lower thirds and try to enter text by double clicking on it I cannot enter any text at all. Also the text area box does not show up at all where you can enter text also.

When I select a title or lower thirds and try to enter text by double clicking on it I cannot enter any text at all. Also the text area box does not show up at all where you can enter text also.

It's a bit hit and miss, Walter. Sometimes the box to enter text shows up straight away in the inspector under "text". Other times, although you click "text" in the inspector, there's nowhere to actually write anything.... then what you have to do is move the trackbar over the Title Box until you see the text boxes in the main Viewer. In the Viewer, double click a text box.... you can enter text there, but it's a bit flaky, but when you've clicked in it, you'll find that under "Text" in the inspector, the box for inputting text has magically appeared!
I'm not sure if anyone else has this trouble, but it is a bit of a pain!
