Can't Erase Partially Downloaded Song Off iPad
Recently, I downloaded an album on to my iPad and it seemingly downloaded just fine. But once I was on my MacBook, and going through the "On this iPad" screen in iTunes 11, I noticed something weird:
As you can see, there's two copies of the song "Spring Vacation". One, which is downloaded, and another one, which looks like it attempted to download, but did not. I would like to remove the attempted download from the list, but I have not been able to do this. I have done a hard reset on the iPad, and have turned off and re-enabled iTunes Match, but it still remains.
Any solution to remove this annoyance would be much appreciated.

The only solution for these "ghost tracks" is to erase all contents on the device, then restore it from a backup.

tapping on the cloud icon downloads the song to your iPad. It does NOT send the song to the cloud. The song is already in the cloud and that is why the download icon is next to it, so that you can download it if you choose to do so.
THe songs that you see that you said that you did not download might be the Songs of Innocence U2 Album that Apple pushed to everybody's devices sometime ago. If you want to remove them, try this and see if it still works.

is there anyway i can get all my downloaded songs from itunes onto my ipad?
If you cannot powerup the phone, there would be no way to recover the photos from the device. Have you tried to just connect it to the computer? If the photos are that important, have you considered possibly a 3rd party repair to just fix the screen so you can access the device, or was there more broken than the screen?

I have problem syncing my music to ipad. Most of the songs are duplicated but only in ipad. I checked the music library in itunes and there didn't have the duplicated songs like in the ipad. I can not delete the duplicated songs inmy ipad.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes (or if doing it on your phone delete it from the Music app and redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app)
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

Downloading songs to ipad when homesharing
How do I download itunes songs onto my ipad when homes haring with my imac? They are both connected to home sharing. I can stream itunes songs from my ipad. I want to download songs to ipad so I can play them when I'm not at home and connected to home sharing.

You can't, unless you purchased these songs via iTunes Store or are using iTunes Match on both devices. Home Sharing is for streaming only as a copyright protection. -
How can I use a downloaded song as an alarm on my timer? Not a ringtone, a song. It is only 30 sec. long.
This is not particularly helpful. I've looked on 3 websites and none of them match my configuration of iTunes. I've gotten as far as creating an AAC file and that is it. Can't find the .m4s designation to change it.

YEA! My jurryrig worked! To all with this problem:
You CAN have podcasts in a regular playlist IF you convert them to a standard MP3 first. So, yes, a lot of manual labor
The good news: if, like me, it is a track that you listen to frequently (in my case meditations for sleep and relaxation) then the time is worth it. I will mess with automator later to see if there is anyway to script this! Then, less work for me and more for my mac.
Here are the steps:
Select the file from your Podcast folder.
Change all data you need -- "artist," "album" etc...
Make a copy of the cover art for this file by dragging it to the desktop.
Select the Advanced -> Convert ID3 Tags menu item.
Check ID3 tag version, and select "v1.0" from the drop-down menu.
Drag the file to the desktop (this will make a copy of the MP3 on the desktop)
Delete the file from the iTunes list.
Drag the copy of the file you have on the Desktop back into iTunes.
Search for the file in the Library, and add the cover art again to the file.
Now the file is out of the Podcasts folder and works like a regular MP3 file inside iTunes. You can re-add it back to playlists! -

How can I delete partially downloaded music albums from my iPad 2?
I bought what I thought was an album from the ITunes store. Turned out to be a jumble of songs from several albums which went everywhere. I hate a mess like that so I decided to just delete all the songs. Now I am left with partial albums with no cover art and songs that don't even play. I can't delete them directly from my iPad and syncing with iTunes won't get rid of them either. Am I stuck with them?

Can't Delete Song Off iPad Mini
Hi, I just got the new iPad Mini with Retina. It's completely up to date. Today, I put three albums on my device.
1) The album art is not showing up (not a huge deal but still bothers me)
2) A song showed up in my music on my iPad that I do not want
I CAN NOT swipe and delete. I've tried.
I pressed the "Show All Music" Button so that it is off and it doesn't show music from the cloud
I even deleted the song off of iTunes and it is still on my device. Please help.ID you don't see the X, do yo use a cloud icon in the lower right corner of the movie icon? If you do see that icon, the movie isn't on the iPad anyway. The movie is in the cloud and you can tap that cloud icon to download the movie to your iPad.
So it all of that is true, those movies are not taking up space on your iPad. You can hide those movies in the videos app by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show all>Videos>Off. -
I am trying to play songs from iTunes Match on my phone everything is enabled. The songs and playlists show up but when I select one it won't download or play. The download status icon next to the song name flashes on and off but nothing happens. When I go to the iTunes Store the download section shows the same behavior - it flashes that there is 1 download continuously but nothing downloads. My iPad on the same network also running ios6 works fine. Any ideas?
Problem closed (although not resolved). After working with Apple support, no resolution was found. I asked for a refund of the iTunes match purchase price, which was granted. Interestingly the support tech, who was very nice if not particularly helpful from a technical point of view, spun the "resolution" of refunding my iTunes match purchase price as a positive one, here is a quote from the final email
"I'm glad to hear that you're not having issues with the songs you've purchased. Nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that our customers concerns have been rectified."
It is notable that I never had an issue downloading music directly purchased thru the iTunes store, the only issue that existed was downloading songs that I ripped from my CD collection and "matched".
I'm happy that I received my money back, however I wish that the iTunes Match service worked for me (I was looking forward to this service). I'm most upset at the time I wasted trying to fix this problem.
I'll now download music the old fashioned way: syncing with iTunes directly. -
Stuck with a partially downloaded song
On my 3rd generation iPad, I am stuck with a song I partially downloaded.
In iTunes>Purchases, I clicked on the cloud next to the song title. It started to download on my iPad. Somehow, I thought the better of it, I didn't need the song on my iPad, so I broke it off. However, now it's there, on my iPad, as some sort of out-of-reach ghost song.
When I go back to iTunes>Purchases, there's no cloud next to the song, but Play. When I choose Play, I'm redirected to Music but the screen goes dark. Nothing happens. I can't swipe to delete the song either. There's a button that seems to indicate it's partially downloaded (next to "Rolling Stones Si..."), but when I click on it, it disappears:
I've tried General>Usage>Music, but it says "No data".Oh thank goodness! I re-downloaded the songs, like what you said, on my computer, and I synced my music over, go to albums on my iPad and deleted the whole album. Finally the songs are deleted! Thanks for helping me!

Accidentally deleted a song off iPad
I accidentally deleted a song off my iPad and tried to re-sync it. But when I do, the song will not transfer to my iPad. Any Ideas??

Because Apple pays the music copyright holders a royalty each time a song, including a free single, is downloaded from the iTunes Store. You can sometimes get one free redownload request granted by using _*this form*_, but never more than one.
