Can't export 5.1 Audio

So I have 5.1 audio in my timeline. Yet, when I export to .aif, I get a mixed version, with alot of signal in left and right, but none at all for the other channels.
Here's a screenshot. The first set of tracks is the 5.1, the second is the resulting export.
Next are my sequence settings.
The export is set as Audio to .aif, 48k, 16-bit, channel grouped.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

So here's my workflow:
My Sequence settings are for 6 channels, all set to 0 db (I had left them at the defaults, but changed them when all this din't work to see if it would help), all set to Dual Mono.
I then set each audio channel from 1-6 in the timeline. I then exported the tracks you see as the first set in the timeline as Audio as Aiff, using 48k, 16-bit, Channel Grouped. I got the resulting files which I then checked by importing and placing them on the timeline as well (This is the second set in the timeline).
I then open Compressor, and select Add Surround Sound. I add all the 6 exported .aif's into the window to their corresponding channels, and click ok. I then drag the Dolby Digital Professional 5.1 preset onto the source, and click submit. I then drag the resulting .ac3 into fcp to check the audio, and that is the third set in the timeline.
I also just tried it your way, sending to Compressor directly and applying the DD5.1 preset. Looks like I'm getting the same result:

  • Can't export MIDI as Audio file. Any idea what I should have done?

    Hi all,
wonder if anyone can help me out. I'm a "Logic"-newbie.
I recorded 10 "external MIDI" tracks(strings) from my Roland JV 1080 synth module into Logic Pro 9 and now I want to export the MIDI file as Audio but when I go to: File - Export - Track As Audio File, the "Track As Audio File" is gray/ not enabled !! The option-"Export All Tracks As Audio Files " is enabled, but when I try it, it doesn export the MIDI tracks with all the Roland JV 1080 data.It only exports any other recorded "soft instruments"tracks or Audio tracks I've uploaded. Keep in mind, the 10 Midi recorded tracks of strings (JV 1080) are using the same program name/patch, and all 10 tracks are on a single channel. In the Inspector window, it doesn't show the "Bounce" option either. When I started recording the strings from this patch, I used the "new track with duplicate settings"-button,so I could have the same sounding string patch available right away. My Roland JV 1080 synth, is connected to the Midi interface only. Should I also have Audio cables connected from JV 1080's Mix Out to the Audio interface (Apogee-Duet) in order to record directly as Audio?
    Thanks for your time guys!

Thank you as well! Since, you have similar equipment like mine- (Apogee/ Emagic), how do you suggest I connect my devices properly. I got an external  12-channel "Mackie"1202-VLZ Mixer, which has my Roland JV 1080 box and my Kurzweil PC2X controller kyes connected to.These two are also, connected MIDI In and Out -to my Emagic Unitor 8 MKII (Audio Interface). I'm a little confused about the connecting of my Apogee Duet, since it has just 2 OUT's- L and R. What's the best rigging here, so I can hear the Audio back from the JV 1080 and the Kurzweil?
( P.S. The Apogee Duet's OUT's (L& R) are plugged into the Mackie'sStereo Aux Returns (L&R). The monitors are  connected to the Main Outs.)
    I appreciate your suggestions.

  • Can you export multi track audio using FCPX?

    hey guys
i can only find export audio under the "share" menu
and it has aiff, aac and mp3, no wav or omf and no options to include as multi tracks rather than a single stereo track or 5.1 surround
do you guys know of a way to export multiple tracks? without muting every track and export numerous times of course

Typed this hours ago and forgot to post it.....
Have actually done that and sent a test piece to the broadcaster. Not sure if I have got the audio tracks in the right order.... from top to bottom would that be audio tracks 1-4, with four at the bottom? I am waiting to hear back from the broadcaster to see if the test piece works as they expect it to.

  • Can't export sections of audio

I can't figure this one out. All of a sudden I cannot export sections of a mix using the work area. I open an older mix and it works fine. The newer one the work area is a bit grayed out.
When I export it exports the whole mix. I don't want this.

And a common sample rate that fits with both NTSC and PAL video samle rates as video recorders were first used to record dital audio.
You can also just play back your file at any sample rate by using Interpret Sample Rate from the bottom of the Edit menu.
Indeed...but only within Audition.  No standard player will handle it--no CDs etc.

  • How can I export an audio track

I have made an audio track with three songs in GB and now I want to export it and use it as a track for a Keynote slideshow.
How can I export it as AAC or similar?

I don't remember Reason being that straight forward, but the obvious way to go, is to mute all sends and bounce.
Then solo the reverb channel, in aux, checking it isn't shared by other sources, and bounce. You should have a dry and a reverbed signal, at your convenience.

  • How can I export m2ts footage with 5.1 audio in PP CS5.5?

    Dear All!
I have a 90 minutes project which made from 4 sequence. Sequence settings are the followings : AVCHD 1080p 25fps square pixels , 5.1 channel master audio.
I made the sequences from avchd file-s, which recorded with Sony HDR-CX700V with AVCHD 1080p 25fps and Dolby digital 5.1 sound.
Right now I finished the project with lots of effects and imported After effects compositions, and I cannot find any setting to create 5.1 sound.
I have Mainconcept codec suite, but this offer m2ts 1440*1080i settings only.( And I cannot configure the mainconcept codec settings.)
Do you have any idea how can I export the project without any degradation, and with 5.1 audio? The original footages recorded with this properties : H264/AVC - top field first - 22.000 Mbit/sec.
    And I use in the project some 720p H264/AVC - progressive - 8.001 Mbit/sec videos.
    Please help! Thanks a lot.

You have to consider a couple of things. Mixing 1080 and 720 material is best done in a 720 sequence, because uprezzing will seriously deteriorate quality, unless you accept black borders. That also means exporting a 720 format as maximum, unless again you accept serious quality loss. Whatever the resolution you choose, exporting AVCHD material to anything else than uncompressed, Lagarith or UT will entail a generation loss and thus quality loss. The best export settings are dependent on your delivery medium. DVD, BD or web.
Since you are working in a 1080 sequence, the quality loss of uprezzed 720 material is not a big issue, apparently, so what is the relevancy of 'the same quality' on export when you have already compromised quality?

  • In CS3 can I export my audio and save it to a CD?

Does anyone have experience exporting audio only to some file format and burning to CD?
Is it as simple as exporting AUDIO only as wav and burning the wave file thru WMP?
Message was edited by: Wes Cox

Yes. Export as Export Audio only. Check that Multiplexing is set to "None," which should be the default with the Export Audio ONLY checked. Then choose PCM WAV 48KHz 16-bit. This will create a WAV file, where you tell PrPro to locate it. This will be file that can be burned to a CD as data. If you want the full CD-Audio (CDA), Audition, Soundbooth, or the free, Audacity, can convert this to the CDA format, at 44.1KHz (CDA standard), and can burn to a CD-Audio. Do not know about Soundbooth, or Audacity, but Audition can even structure your CD-Audio with tracks, if you have more than one file.
    Good luck,

  • Can you export Keynote audio in any way?

Is it possible to export recorded Keynote audio at all? I'd like to offer the video as a separate, downloadable mp3 for an online course I'm creating.

    Two possible ways:
    1. Not sure if this will work but worth a try: Export an item description of the track with the subs in. The n open new project and import that Item description which will bring in the track complete with subs, movie and sound. If this is all you want this should work fine.
    2. If however you want to actually export the subs to maybe edit elsewhere or whatever you do the same and export Item Description of the track.
    Download Subtitler
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/26322
And use this to extract the subs from the Item description. Can be a bit flakey but works - make sure you have defined the language of the subs in DVD-SP and also make sure you use the Item Description Import not Auto in Subtitler. Then you can save them as STL file for use elsewhere.
    Hope this helps

  • Can't export MP3 audio from Premiere Elements 9

I want to export the audio from my movie.  The File, Export option appears to be unavailable, regardless of what I do; I saw elsewhere on the forum that all exporting is now done through the Share tab, and referring to PE8, the post recommended the "share to computer" tab.  Under advanced options, I set the audio to be exported as an MP3, with no video.  However, the "advanced" button leads to a screen with 3 tabs: "Format," "Video," and "Audio."  I can make those changes under the "Audio" tab with no problem, and because I have chosen to export only the audio, there is no information under the "video" tab.  The problem is that the "Format" tab only gives me two options, ".flv" and ".fl4" or something like that, and the resulting file appears to be a 7 second long, blank and silent video, played by Windows Live Movie Maker.  How can I get my audio exported?

Are you using version 8 or version 9? It's hard to tell because you reference both.
In version 9, if you go to the Share tab and select the Computer option, you'll be taken to a screen with seven output options.
Audio wil be listed as your last option. (You do have to click on the Audio listing to select it.) and MP3s are certainly among the options listed on the Preset menu.
If you can't see it, you need to scroll down or resize your panels -- or your computer monitor may not be large enough. But it's there.

  • How can I export a movie with audio that I have edited in logic 9 to a quicktime movie

I imported a quicktime movie into logic and added audio and effects but when i export it the original audio from the quicktime movie is still there even though it doesn't sound in logic!

    Hi
One of teh final steps in the Export to Movie process is a dialog box where one can select which of the audio tracks embedded within the movie are included.
You must actively de-select those tracks that you do NOT want to include in the Export.

  • Can't export MPEG from Quicktime without losing audio

I'm trying to take a video I took with my Sony DSC-N2 and reduce its size. I've tried exporting it to different formats with Quicktime (Pro 7.1.6) but everytime I do the new file has no audio. what can I do? This happens whether I'm on my old G4 or on the new black Macbook. Help!
    David

I've found, sometimes, that QT loses your prefs for audio when exporting and, thus, exports NO audio
When you click on file> export, and then options, click on the audio tab and ensure that it has something selected. Assuming that you have the correct codecs installed, QT should then export with the audio
    Good luck,
    Paul

  • Can I export to a 4 audio channels clip?

Hi everyone, that is my question: can I export a four tracks videoclip from Premiere?
The 4 channels should be stereo + stereo
The purpouse is having a clip with two separate languages, both in stereo
    Thanks for you help!

Yes. The best would be to Export as elemental streams for use by your authoring app. You can Mute one set of Audio Tracks with either the Audio Mixer, or from the Audio Track Header. Export as normal to PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit. Now, un-Mute those, and Mute the others. Export your Video as DV-AVI Type II, Video-only (no Audio, no muxing).
Once in your authoring app (Encore?), Import your DV-AVI Video-only file as a Timeline, and your two Audio-only files as Assets. Decide which of your Audio files you want as the primary and drag it to that Timeline. Then drag your secondary Audio file to Track 2 on that same Timeline.
I would do a "language" sub-Menu, and link the two (or more if you had more) Buttons to the respective Timeline, making sure to choose the appropriate Audio Track. The user can then select the Audio for the DVD. Some players also have an Audio button on the remote, and this should allow selection of language.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
