Can't export a 29.97 QT/mp4 - what's wrong?

I'm composing the music for a short documentary that I was given as a QT file. It doesn't have window dub (timecode superimposed on the video), which I'd like to add for easier reference with markers, etc.
I brought the movie into FCP v5, then used the Timecode Generator effect to add SMPTE on screen. I've exported the movie 6 times now using the "Using QuickTime Compression" option. Each time I set the framerate to 29.97, and changed other parameters (compression quality, keyframe, etc.).
The resulting file's info says its framerate is 29.97, but when I bring it into Logic, it's not lining up. Initially it's fine, but after about 6 minutes there's a difference b/w the window dub that I added and what Logic's SMPTE readout displays.
If I switch Logic's framerate from 29.97 to 30fps, however, it matches up perfectly.
So it seems the export from FCP is at 30fps not 29.97.
Does anyone know how to export a QT/mp4 that runs at 29.97? I'm obviously doing something wrong.

I've done both: Used Current and selected 29.97... I've done this 8 times now.
The movie is at 29.97 non-drop (checked with the video editor), which is what we work with all the time.
On the most recent attempt, I went to the Sequence's Setting window and de-selected the Drop checkbox from the Timeline Options tab (Drop was selected by default).
I re-exported, but the onscreen TC is still off from Logic's SMPTE readout.

I'm here to help! Are you unable to log in to ExportPDF, or unable to convert files once you're logged in? I tried to check your order history, but don't see any orders under the email address that you use here. Did you perhaps sign up using a different email address, or sign up via Adobe Reader?

HELP! Vertical Lines and Can't Use Half of My Screen. What is Wrong???

Ok, this is really frustrating. Please read first.
I did not spill anything or drop my MacBook. A week ago, it was fine. And then I picked it up and opened it to check something, and my screen was SCREWED. Nearly half of the screen is filled with colorful, vertical lines. Between the lines is filled in with white. I can't see anything underneath and makes it so difficult to use my MacBook.
I don't know what is wrong. I called some places and some say it might be the video card, while a few say it may be the screen. I'm thinking of going to Best Buy since it's closer just to see what is up.
I purchased my MacBook in 09 and never had a problem. The warranty is gone. If it is internal, there is no way I'm paying/can afford $700+ and I'll have to downgrade for a PC I just don't understand what went wrong... can anyone help me save my Mac?? Does it sound internal or a screen issue?
I also took a pic with my phone of my Mac when it's on screensaver mode if that helps...

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles
Here are a few possibilities:
1) The display itself is bad.
2) The inverter cable is bad.
3) The video card is failing.
Do you have your install discs? If so, try booting up from your install disc to see if the same issue shows up. If you have the adapter that will allow you to connect your MacBook to an external display, you could try that as another troubleshooting step.

I can't export .oam files any more. What gives? A big bad bug? Anyone got a work around?

I was doing great with Edge until last night...when the .oam publishing feature vanished. I'm pasting small animations into my Muse pages, so this was a great thing, in theory, anyway. Tried restarting the app, tried restarting the computer, always opened the .an doc to work on the project. Thing is, it works once in a while...like once in 20 tries. Why? What's the deal? This app just not ready for the real world yet?

A couple of questions:
Are you saving first? We don't allow publish for new, unsaved files. (It seems like you're working on an an file first)
Do you have any errors in the warnings panel? Look in the lower right hand corner in the Stage panel.
If neither of these are the case, please post your entire project file on a file sharing site so that we can take a look at what you're trying to do and advise you.

Can not export XML with CC 2014. What can I do?

Every time that I try to export a Final Cut XML, to go to Resolve, the program freezes and I have to force quit it. Any Ideas?

We too are having this issue. On not one but several machines in our office, so definitely a Premiere issue. This is crippling my workflow as I need to send offlines to redcineX to recreate the online and then to resolve. Very annoying. I'm downloading the latest update now in the hope that fixes it. Otherwise it's bug report time methinks

ITunes refuses to export the library. Any idea what's wrong?

When I try to export the iTubes library to a xml-file to the desktop I see the file for less than a seconds but there is no file stored.
In fact the xml-file should be refgreshed auton=maticaaly but that doesn't work since a few months.
I need an actual xml-file of mij library so I can use the programm DJay
I already downloaded the latets version of iTunes and I have run Onyx and repaired my permissions.

If the red color is only there when you are at the Home screen, you may have somehow changed the iPad's Wallpaper. See Settings-Brightness & Wallpaper to see how it is currently set.
If everythng has a red background, I do not know how that could be adjusted. It could be a defect. Before the warranty expires, you can show it to an Apple Store Genius. If the Genius can not fix it, you may get a replacement iPad.
If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center. There may be one in your city. <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>
One thing your can try is to reset (reboot) the iPad. Hold down both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

I tried to restore my phone, but something occurred and it wouldn't restore and it the screen will not change from the resstore laoding page and i can't turn it off or on. What went wrong? and how can i fix it?

i was trying to restore my phone and it was connected and everything and i went to restore it and after a couple of minutes something popped up saying it couldt restore. i looked to my phone screen and it looked as if the phone was going to restore but the screen never changed and after an hour, it still hasn't changed. i tired holding down the lock button but that didnt do anything. then i tried hooking it back up to itunes but itunes doesn't connect to it and my computer doesn't detect a connected device. What happened and how can i fix it?

When I open Firefox I get a message that says I am working offline. I have tried reinstalling, but no help. Other acounts on this computer can get to Firefox, but not me. What's wrong?

I upgraded to the newest version of Firefox yesterday. But now I cannot get online with Firefox. I can check my e-mail and browse the web on Internet Explorer, but not Firefox. I get a message that says Firefox is working offline. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but that did not help. I restored my computer to Sunday's settings, but that did not help.

I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

I can't convert a large PDF to Word - what's wrong?

I’m trying to convert a 22MB PDF file and it fails. The only message I get is ‘there was an error’ or something like that after spending over 2-hours (or so) under the status of ‘converting file to Word using Adobe ExportPDF on-line’. My first though was the size, but saw that there is a 100MB limit. If my PDF (from a good source) has a password or permissions preventing the conversion, would ExportPDF state that upfront as the reason it did not convert? What should I try or what are my options to convert this PDF to Word?

My ipod nano 8th gen's battery can't last more than a day. What's wrong with it?

Had my 8th gen nano for almost a year. It used to have decent charge for days because I only use it sparingly as a music player. I do use it as a watch with a TikTok but I unlock the screen only once in a while to see the time. Now the battery drains ridiculously fast in 1 day. Even with the screen off for most of the time, the next time I check the time/wake up the screen, battery gets drain by huge chunks. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I've seen the wsdeploy file in javaxrpc. But that wasn't the file I was really looking for. I was looking for deploytool.bat.
If you check the wsdp tutorial on page 79, under the title: "Deploying the application using deploytool" they mention this tool. And they state that one can find it at <jwsdp_home>/bin/deploytool
But like I said, it isn't inside the bin directory
I have a strange feeling that the tutorial is not referring to jwsdp1.1 but rather to jwsdp1.0
and that sun have taken some files like deploytool out of the jwsdp package and put them in the J2EE 1.4 package (like deploytool).
E.g. in the same tutorial in chapter 9 somewhere at the pages 399-400 they refer to a file "jwsdponj2ee" which is needed to integrate (i presume) jwsdp on j2ee 1.3.*. This is another file you can't find in the jwsdp 1.1 package. Is this confirming that Sun presumes everybody uses j2ee 1.4 right now?

Can't add WoW game Time with Firefox, what's wrong?

I've tried adding WoW time to my account since last night. The Actual site Battle.net loads as it should, but the instant I click on account management or add game time it takes me to white background with barely click-able links. I put the code in the proper spot, clicked confirm, it asks add game time to wow press continue, but the continue button won't work. I'm confused by the website layout to begin with, never had this happen with Firefox before, please help. I'm running Windows 8 64bit.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Late 2008 aluminum MacBook running extremely slow to the point where I can't open or close applications/windows. What is wrong with it?

It was working just fine. I had just downloaded a 130 mb album. A few minutes after my MacBook basically stopped working. I could not open applications or close them. I decided to restart my computer and this did not help. I am able to turn my computer on and off but that is it.

Boot in Safe Mode so you can see how much free space there is on the startup disk.
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
If there's less than 15% available disk space, you need to delete files to free up space. You can do that in Safe Mode.
Then click Restart from your Apple menu .

I can't download files over 200 mb. What's wrong?

Every time I try to download a file over 200mb it looks like it's downloading but when it has loaded 100% it doesn't finish so it doesn't get saved. It's not a space problem and it has always worked before. (It's not the browser either, I have tried it in firefox too).
This is how it looks..
If anybody knows what could be wrong and how to fix it, please help. Much appreciated.

And check Safari > Preferences - General
Make sure: Open "safe" files after downloading is selected.
If it still won't open, go to ~/Library/Safari
Move the Downloads.plist file from the Safari folder to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari ... try again.

On my iphone 4, the display is dark, and the flash is on all the time, but i can still sync my phone with itunes. what is wrong?

ok. my iphone 4 (16GB, verizon is carrier, don't know for sure if it is GSM, CDMA, or a 4s) has no display, the light on the front is always on (the flash) and the phone will still sync with itunes and seems to work...what is wrong? does it need to be repaired? oh yeah, it has ios 6.01 on it.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
