Can't export AVCHD transcoded to MXF through CS4 Media encoder

So, I need some help. I shot AVCHD clips PH 1080P 24P transcoded with the Panasonic transcoder into MXF files to my desktop. Imported that folder with 15 clips into Premiere and and began editing about a three minute sequence in a P2 1080 24p preset. i even interpolated all my files to 23.976 I built a timeline. Everything looked great and played nicely.
Then I went to export it. I Went to file export - media. It launched the media encoder and showed up in the box. It said "waiting." I clicked on start que. When I clicked on that it said loading "my project file" below. After about ten minutes a yellow yield sign came up and said couldn't locate source material.
Any ideas?? I'd really appreciate it.

Hi MarkCole,
did you have Pr CS3 on the same system which you had un-installed after installing Pr CS4? If yes, then you may need to re-install Pr CS4 again.
If not, then you can try launching AME, going to File>Add Premiere Pro sequence, navigate to the location where the Pr project is saved and select it. Once the Pr project loads in UI, select the appropriate sequence and click OK and then click Start Queue.
Also, you might want to update to Pr CS4.0.1 and AME CS 4.0.1 and see if the problem goes away.
Thanks

  • Can't export (queue) out of ppro into adobe media encoder after update

i just updated everything (cuda, nvidia, os 10.8.2, 6.0.3) and now i can't export from ppro into adobe media encoder.  as soon as i export out with any preset across multiple projects and hit play, i get the sheep sound almost immediately.  before this gets put in the AME discussion queue consider that AME works fine either when importing an AE composition etc.  so it seems to be premiere related.  thanks!

Actually I'd recommend uinstalling all the adobe software on your PC if possible. Because truthfully if you have a decently fast internet connection or you have the installer for the suite on your system it really doesn't take that long to do a complete install. Plus when you do a complete install it's much more likely to fix the issue plus then you can use the Adobe CS cleaner tool which makes your odds for success much higher so that is what I'd recommend. If you follow the instructions from this link everything will go smoothly.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
I know in the past I have fallen into the trap of troubleshooting something for a few days, only to end up uninstalling then using the adobe CS cleaner tool, then reinstalling and then BAM everything was now fixed lol...
Then I always ended up feeling silly for spending so much time on it instead of just doing a fresh install. Although I had no way of knowing that to begin with unfortunately. Hindsight is 20/20 most of the time.
However you can technically try uninstalling Premiere by itself if you want to try that first. If my memory serves me correctly when you uninstall Premiere it will uninstall Encore and AME as well.

  • How do I trigger commercial breaks from ad networks through Flash Media Encoder 3.2

We stream live sporting events and need to trigger commercial breaks through Flash Media Encoder.  We need the trigger to get to our ad network and they in turn would insert the spots into the programming. I know it can be done but am not sure how to go about this with the software.

    Hi MarcSaphiron,
Could you please send the samples? It will be much helpful to complete my

  • I can transcode my AVCHD files to DNxHD in Media Encoder, but when I ingest through Prelude, Media Encoder Fails.

I am instructing students working on longer form projects to transcode their AVCHD material to Quicktime using the DNxHD codec (which is installed, and then preset loaded into Media Encoder).
I am doing this since it is the suggested workflow in this article:
Audio and Video glitches | AVCHD footage
It worked great last year in CS6, but this workflow is not working at all in CC2014.
When I transcode directly through Media Encoder, the process works fine, but if I ingest using Prelude (where students choose which files to transcode, set destination, etc) the transcoding fails and we get an AME error. Not sure why this would be any different than transcoding right into Media Encoder...
We are working on PCs running Windows 7.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

    Hi Sally,
Could you please post a screen shot of the AME error you are getting? And as Michael asked, could you also let us know which preset are you using?
    Thanks,

  • Exporting through Adobe Media Encoder as MPEG2-DVD but quality is pixelated. Help!

So, I am exporting my project through media encoder - MPEG2-DVD, Quality 5, NTSC, 29.97 drop frame, Progressive, Standard 4:3, VBR 2 Pass, 7.4697, 7.4697, 8.0382, Frames 3 & 15. I have done this process many, many times. Today, I am getting this pixelated junk when I pull the exported file into Encore. It looks smooth in the window prior to export but then it comes out like this. I am using footage that I captured into Premiere Pro and animation created in After Effects. Can anyone help?

  • Can't export Quicktime H.264 from AE CS4

Whenever I try to set the export module to Quicktime H.264 I immediately get the error/message, "For reliable output with H.264 compression, please choose it directly from the Output Module Format menu instead of via Quicktime."
If you try ro render, you only get an error and there is no render.
What could be going wrong? Is a plugin not working? The only thing I can think of is I updated to Quicktime 7.6 a few days ago. Anyone else experienced this problem?

I'm encoding at 640x360. I usually use profile level 4.1, but this is only going to be directed towards software not hardware. There are work arounds to this, lots of them. Like encoding using Quicktime Animation codec and then re-encoding to Quicktime H.264 out of PP CS4, Sorenson Squeeze, or even Quicktime itself. All will work well. But the thing is that a person shouldn't have to go through a two-step work around like this. You want to maintain quality but Animation files are relatively huge. (By the way, its funny how PP CS4 has no problem exporting QT H.264).
How would I use Adobe Media encoder directly? Just drop the project from AE into the queue?

  • Can't export to tape on Premier Pro CS4 Extended

When I attempt to export to tape from Premier Pro CS4 Extended, version 4.1.0, to a DV Cam, the tape rolls and records (with device control) but I get no video or audio.
    I have:
-selected the timeline for the sequence
-the work area bar is over the entire sequence
-I’ve made sure the tape is record enabled
-I have tried two DV cameras, and three fire wire cords
-I am able to capture video into the computer using all of the above
-I’ve tried moving my project from my external hard drive to my internal one
    Still no export…….
    Any ideas why?

  • Popping sounds when transcoding wmv to flv with media encoder

Whenever I use adobe media to transcode a wmv file created in windows media encoder to a flash file, I get pops  in the audio track (similar to hissing bacon). The pops only occur during the begining of the video, when it's quiet and go away once the music or any loud noises begin. I did some research and found that it's a common problem when changing sample rates but the thing is that it doesn't happen on every conversion, and happens across multiple computers. We've tried it on Dell precision m65s (xp pro) as well as a Dell xps (vista 64bit) and a MacBook pro running xp pro in bootcamp. Here are the settings we use in windows media encoder: 1800kbps video 160kbps CBR audio at 48khz 640x360 resolution 29.97 fps keyframe: 8 seconds  And here are the settings we use in AME: flv multiplexing on2 vp6 codec 2 pass vbr at 800kbps "undershoot" at 100% (quality: best) mp3 audio at 160 Kbps we have found that these settings work best for our cdm (brightcove)   Again, it only happens at the begining of a video when it is quiet. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Before anyone asks, the reason we don't capture it directly into flash with live flash media encoder is because the motion in our content causes the processor to peak resulting in dropped frames. When we get better equipment we will switch to live flash media encoder but until then we are stuck with windows media encoder.  Thanks, Peter

Again, the reason we are capturing with Windows Media Encoder is because we tried using Live Flash Encoder to capture directly into flash but our equipment wasn't fast enough and it was dropping frames all over the place.  We also don't have the space to capture into an uncompressed format because we don't have the available storage, and our events can be 8 hours long or more (each video is about 15 minutes, 20 or more videos)
Ive listened to everything in my workflow and it sounds fine until the outputted FLV file from AME.
WME is capturing at the following specs:
160kbps 48KHz Windows Media Audio 9.2 codec (stereo) 1 pass CBR
    1800kbps 1 pass CBR video
    29.97 fps
    640x360 resolution
    buffer size: 5 seconds
    key frame interval: 8 seconds
I have verified this with a codec info utility I ran on the wmv files.
AME is encoding with the following specs:
    FLV Multiplexing
    On2 VP6 codec
    620x360 resolution
    800kbps 2 pass VBR
    100% undershoot at best quality
    160kbps stereo MP3 audio
I verified the above with the same codec info utility (gspot 2.70a) and it is all acurate, it also told me that the audio is at 44.1KHz rather than 48 (there was no place to specify this, is this a limitatino of the VP6 codec?)
Yes, these are our source assets.  They're being captured either through an XL2 via firewire, or from an analog program feed converted to firewire via a Canopus converter box.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of this, or a different encoder (either to capture with rather low cpu resources, or to encode into flash) let me know.  I can provide a sample of the clipping if you need
    Thanks,
    Peter

  • Choppy and lagging playback from videos/animations exported from Cs4 (Media Encoder)

    Hello!
I got Creative Suite 4 (Production Premium). I usally uses AE and PrePro, saves the project and uses Media Encoder to export the footage. My filmcrew got a Sony HDR-200 (I think) who saves in AVCHD, m2ts full HD.
First I edit the clip with Sony Vegas... Cut the things I do not want.
Then, I applie visualFX with After Effects and sometimes Premiere Pro. Saves the project. Fire up Adobe Media Encoder and selects "add After Effects Composition".
    I always render in:
    H.264
    HDTV 1080p 25fps
    PAL 16:9 Ratio
    The Video was/is original i:
    Sony AVCHD (m2ts)
    1080p 25fps
Everything seemes ok. No error messages or anything like that.
Next step, I import the footage (from any Cs4 application) into Vegas, Movie Maker or whatever software.
The whole clip, is "choppy". Frames mixes together. The footage is choppy even in Windows Media Player, Winamp... Not just Vegas...
Example: My actor is going to stand up from the couch. While rising, several frames from when he sat and when he has risen appears. The mixes, last ca. 2 frames each.
Summary: All Cs4 products exports choppy video... Media Encoder or not... Same problem.
    Please help me!
    Computer (Costume Made):
    Asus PQ53 Deluxe
    Intel Core 2 Quadro 3.0Ghz

    eVGA Geforce GTX 285 (1GB GDDR3)

  • Watermarking through Adobe Media Encoder

Is there a way to watermark (or add text) over video through MediaEncoder?
I'm trying to do the following:
-export a raw video clip straight from the file (not through any editing program)
-use media encoder to convert it to an H264 .mp4 file
    -then post on the web
Without putting it in FinalCut/AfterEffects/etc...,  Is there a way to put a watermark through media encoder?  An image preferred but I don't care if it's just text

It sure would be great if AME did watermarking. Seems like an easy thing, surprising that it isn't already in there.
We have to add Apple Compressor to our workflow for this one simple task... it would speed up our process SO much to not have to add that extra step...
Please Adobe add watermarking to Media Encoder!!

  • Can't drag and drop Quicktime files into Adobe Media Encoder CS6

For some reason I can't drag Quicktime wrapped files into Media Encoder.  I get this error message:
"The file [FILE PATH] could not be imported. Could not read from source. Please check the setting and try again."
I have the latest version of Quicktime installed on my system and the problem files open in QT Player without issue.  Has anyone encountered this before or know of a quick fix?
    I'm running CS6 on a Windows 7 64 bit system.

What's the path to the file? Is it on an external drive? A network drive? A mapped drive? Can you try copying the file to your desktop and dragging it from there?
It's on an external e-sata drive. No problem accessing the file from within Premiere.  Just can't drop it into Encoder. Doesn't work if I drag to desktop and try from there either.
Are you dragging it in from Windows Explorer? If not, then what app are you dragging from?
    Yes, from Explorer.
Are you dragging the actual clip or a shortcut to it?
    Actual clip.
Have you tried importing via File > Add Source...? [Double-clicking a blank spot in the Queue gets you to the same Open dialog.]
Yep, tried that.  No luck.  Double clicking and adding didn't work either.
Definitely only seems to be QT files.  Have tried H264 files from 7D camera and ProRes files.  No luck.  Files that are MP4 work fine.

Hi, I have a hp workstation with the suite adobe installed. I want export media with the container mxf and with the codec Dvcpro HD. How can i do it? Need I install something?

Did you recently updated the AME application? this procedure might fix the problem.

  • Can't open AVCHD format in Premiere Pro CS4

I just bought Premiere CS4 and updated with all available updates from Adobe. I tried to import a AVCHD file and it says this file format is not supported.
I thought I read the CS4 supports AVCHD now. The thing is, the format option is grayed out in the Media browser, so I must be doing something wrong.
I think I might try reinstalling the software.

I believe I'm having a closely related problem... I am new to video, with a Canon HF20 camera. I have shot some clips to
the internal disk.  I have the trial of PPro CS4 on a Vista-64 machine.  I was able to port the files over to my computer
using Canon's file transfer s/w, but when I try to bring them into PPro using the Media Browser, it says my .mts files are
not recognized and refuses to import them.
Is it confirmed that the trial doesn't support AVCHD?  If so, I find that weird!  But if confirmed, can I simply pay them for
the full version, insert the serial number, and suddenly see the s/w start working for me in AVCHD?  Or do I have to (1) use
Harm's Clean CS4 to remove all traces of the trial, and (2) go purchase and download a full working copy?
Yechhh!  I guess I'm amazed that Adobe would set up a "trial" that isn't for so many users...
By the way, is my setting of project options also key to getting this right?  This also looks not exactly intuitive--I'm
shooting in Canon's FXP mode, which I believe is 1440x1080, 60 fps interlaced, and 17 Mbps.  I'm just trying to learn the
s/w. but would like to use the results over the web or via CD/DVD exports to friends/family.
    Thanks,

  • Can't export to Compressor. "Selection contains no media"

I get a message that says "selection contains no media", but there is clearly media on the timeline that plays fine in the viewer. Other projects export fine and using quicktime conversion to export works fine too.

    Pentent wrote:
Interesting. Losing the in and out points on the timeline solved the problem, but now what if I wish to just send a segment to compressor and not the entire sequence?
Exporting with in and out points works okay in other projects. I'm a bit confused.
Is the sequence in question not in your main browser tab? If you're someone who likes to, say, option-click bins to open them in tabs behind the main project tab - I like to do this - then is a known issue when attempting the Export > Using Compressor workflow. (Sequences exported this way must be in the main tab, not in a floating tab or tab behind the main tab).
I've never experienced this error in any other circumstance - I export Using Compressor all the time, with In and Out set, so that in-and-of itself isn't the exact cause...

  • EXPORT LONG FILES IN 1080p for Windows Media Player

Hello, need some help in exporting and encoding some large files from Premiere CS6.
We have 4 Sequences, each totalling 45minutes in length and in 1080p (ProRes422).
We need to export and encode for Windows Media Player as quickly as possible.
Looks like each export is going to take over an hour from Premiere as "Match Sequence Settings"
-keep in mind there is NO AUDIO.
Once it's out of Premiere as an MPEG, I can transcode to any format. Ultimately WMV would be optimal,
but we need to transcode the MPEG into a MOV file before 'Episode' will accept it, just to make the WMV files.
Target files: (4) 1080p Windows Media Player compatible files
Does anyone have a better workflow workaround? Midnight hour and need help!
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

Thanks Jim, I can't export to WMV out of Premiere or Media Encoder. I use Episode to make my WMV files, and since Episode doesn't take MPEG in from Premiere (sigh)
I have to first make them in Quicktimes..
But yes! Anything Windows Media Player can handle... should I just go with the 5GB MPG files? No way for me to test, I'm on a Mac and these are playing on a PC
    thanks for your help
