Can't Export to iTunes

After finishing a GarageBand file, my iMac G5 won't export into iTunes. It's gets to the end of the slidebar and then just sits there. Nothing.
Also, I have been unable to install any iTunes upgrades since the horrible 7.0 or 7.01 version. The installer opens and it won't go past the "preparing" window. I get the following in the Installer Log window:
Package Authoring Warning: The installer script defines but doesn't use (and can't install) package id manual version 8.0.2.2230000.1687.
I've tried removing the prefs files from both GarageBand and iTunes and I still have the export problem and the inability to upgrade iTunes.
Any solution besides a clean install (which I had just done a month prior to the problems beginning)?
Thanks!

    Hello luismezar
The easiest way to do that is to move the entire iTunes Folder using an external hard drive. Check out the article below for the steps to move your iTunes library to your new MacBook Air.

  • Can't export to iTunes anymore

Been using GB for about six months. Yesterday after finishing a song in GB, I told it to export to iTunes, and it tried...it finished up until the part where iTunes automatically opens and the file appears in iTunes. Instead of that happening, iTunes opened, and I saw in the iTunes status window: "Copying 1 of 1: Bounced" then that failed, then the OSX message "Error: Cannot read or write to disk." I checked the permissions for the HD, and "Read and Write" is NOT highlighted as an option. However, I can save documents anywhere but GB. So I reinstalled all my OSX software, including iTunes. Now iTunes won't open at all--it tries, and then I get a message that it unexpectedly quit. I thought it might be a Library issue, so I tried dragging the library onto the desktop, even the old libraries. Nothing changed. I reinstalled iTunes, but still the same thing. I don't think it's a GB problem, but I really can't tell at this point. I posted a similar question in iTunes, so hopefully someone from one of the forums can help...Please?

    Deauthorization:
If you have ever purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, Apple has placed digital rights management copy protection software on your main hard drive (where Mac OS X lives) that identifies you as the legal purchaser of those recordings.
If you back up your whole hard drive, reformat it and re-install everything, or if you put in a new hard drive and set it up to be your Mac OS X main drive, you lose the right to access any of the iTunes Music Store songs that you have purchased, because you have inadvertently deleted Apple's digital rights management copy protection keys that authorize you as the owner of those recordings you purchased.
So if you need to do this to your main hard drive, first you must go into iTunes and do a de-authorization. When you set up your new hard drive, you have to re-authorize.
    Apple sez:
[blockquote]To deauthorize a computer to play songs or spoken word content purchased from the iTunes Music Store, choose Advanced > Deauthorize Account. Then choose "Deauthorize Computer for Music Store Account" and enter your Apple or AOL ID and password.[/blockquote]
Similar steps have to be taken with many other music programs that utilize copy protection in software, such as Sibelius, SampleTank, Cubase, etc.
It's confusing because all that Apple and other companies tell you that you must de-authorize and then re-authorize if you move all your files to a new computer. While that's true, it's misleading, because the authorization issue also applies if you move to a new hard drive inside your existing computer.

  • How can I export an iTunes playlist to my iPhone 6?

I just purchased an iphone 6.  I have various playlists on my itunes and they didn't sync over to my phone.  I created a new playlist and it shows up in the library on my computer but when I sync my phone it does not show up on my phone.

Hi Chris, thanks for the input!  Just wanted to share that, if you have iTunes Match on, you will not be able to sync or drag and drop any new playlists. The trick is now,
    1. create your new playlists on your computer.
    2. turn off itunes match on your iphone, change options in itunes on your computer, while iphone is plugged in, to manually manage music and videos. Please note, with itunes match on, under summary in itunes, you will only get manually manage videos. once you turn off itunes match, you will get music and videos back!  sync that itunes puppy!
    3. drag your new playlist onto your music category on your iphone.
    4. you can turn on your itunes match afterwards, and while it states that this will replace your existineg music library, it will leave your playlists with imported songs alone.
Thanks to Kyle at Apple Support for his kind assistance!  ( I have AppleCare, and it works)

  • How can I export my iTunes lib ray to an SD card

I'm trying to export songs from library to an SD Card in my VW CC.
Is there a good way to do so other than selecting the folders in the finder?
    Thanks,

Drag the tracks from the iTunes window to the card in a Finder window.  Note that most car players will end up playing according to file name order.  You can, however, rename files so they appear in the desired order.  There's probably scripts or tools to facilitate that (check Dougscripts web site).

Yes. Use the iTunes command File > Add Folder to Library and point it to the folder where the music is stored. Start with one folder so you can see how it works. iTunes will add whatever is compatible.

iTunes is only designed to sync Apple devices. However, the songs in your iTunes library can be used for other purposes. Follow the instructions that came with your player.

  • Can only export songs/ringtones to itunes on one user account

I can't for the life of me figure out why it works fine on one user account, and on the other account (there both admin accts), it appears to be exporting to itunes but, nothing ever shows up in itunes or in the itunes music folder. Any ideas on this? I have seen a few other posts with similar problems but have not been able to find a solution. Thanks in advance.

  • How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program or laptop?

How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program/computer? The songs in question are originals composed by my boyfriend in Garage Band. We have full rights to them, but they import into iTunes like all the other artists songs. His hard drive crashed and I have the only copies. I have no access to my iMac for 2 months while we tour our show and we need them on the tour. We are in dire straights if we can not access these songs and the iPad will not hook up to our equipment. Plus we need to add a track to a promotional video. So how can we access our own music?
    Thanks.

If they are in the iPad's Music app then the only way to get them out of it is by connecting the iPad to a computer. As they aren't iTunes purchases you won't be able to copy them back to a computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, instead you will need a third-party program on the computer to copy them off - there are some listed half-way down this page which should work: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • I can´t see the pics I imported into my podcast when I export to iTunes

After making a podcast with pics, I was unable to view the podcast with itunes - I could only hear the audio tracks - but no pics - who can help me?

When you export to iTunes, you have to use the AAC compression, neither MP3 nor uncompressed AIFF will contain the pics.
Alternatively, select "Export to disk", and the podcast will be saved in AAC format by default.
