Can't extend music track

One more question here, quite a learning curve with this new iMovie 11. I have a purple music track with a duration of 3:22 sec but it seems locked at 3:00 now and I can't extend it for some reason. Any ideas why? It's like my whole movie is frozen at 3:00 and I can't make it any longer?? When I select the whole music track, a yellow line appears all the way around it but there is no way to click and drag it to make it longer. I know in GarageBand, I can make a song longer by dragging the marker at the top of the window. But no such thing in iMovie. Hope this makes sense.

The muic cannot be longer than the video clips and photos. iMovie is a visual medium.
I would recommend adding some dummy clips at the end of your project and you will see all the music.
An easy wasy to do this is to clip the Maps tab and scroll down. You will see both Black and colored backgrounds and animatic placeholders. Put one of these in and make it long enough and you will see your whole track.

N8 Video Editor - Can't find music tracks

My N8 video editor can't find any of the 2500+ music tracks (mostly AAC files and rare MP3s) that I have in the music library.
It can only find 4 AAC alarm tones that I imported from my N95 8GB.
What's wrong with it ?

Just had this myself as well - seems there should be an icon just under the Library for Music Videos but there is not at the moment. Have not found a way to add one either.
My solution was to simply create a smart playlist and choose the option 'video type' and set to music video. This created the list of all of my music videos.

Can I attach music tracks to iPhone 4S mail?

Is it possible to send music tracks as attachments using mail with iPhone OS 6.1.1 and recipient using unknown model of iPhone?
If this is possible, is there a limit to track size or total track size?
If it is not possible, I do have a MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion).

I'm using OSX 10.9 Mavericks with iTunes 11.1.3 (8) 64 bits and I can't sync it with my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.4)
What I should to do to put some music on my iPhone?
When I try to sync some tracks from my macbook to my iphone, iTunes starts showing that are backing up, etc, but at some point it shows the message "canceling sync" and never leaves it. Only closing iTunes and starting all over again, but falling into the same problem.
There are a lot of days that I have this issue.

Are you getting any error messages? Have you used these devices previously with another computer? Please describe what exactly are you doing to "move" files to your devices.

I have a problem with arraging music titles in imovie. I know that there is an option in the menu available and I see all my added songs. But I can't move any song! I can highlight one song by clicking on it but how can I move it up or down? How can I change the song order via this menu?
Or is there another way to change easily the position of two songs?

Thanks restoring and restarting didn't fix my problem - i have started it fresh and still it doesn't work. Basically I press ONCE on the remote, after the machine has not had any commands for 10 minutes, and the cursor skips from one end of the menu to the other - so I can't choose network or update software etc - I sometimes manage to stop it randomly in the middle of the menu if I press on a command in the middle of the cursor skipping all the menu steps...not sure what the problem is but I have basically not used my brand new apple tv since I bought it for that reason! I should call Apple support I suppose! grrrr hate wasting time with stuff like this!

Hey fellow Apple Geniuses - I just got the latest iMovie11 so excited for the new trailer feature, only to discover that these teenie weenie movie trailers are not near long enough for my taste, however I do like the cool transitions and layouts, so I discovered that I can convert the trailer to a project and then add more content, which I am doing right now. I need help though with the audio track... Does anyone know the secret to getting the 43 second music track to repeat, since this particular track (Friendship2) is not showing as an option in my iTunes/iMovie licensed audio to be able to keep dragging more into the movie? First plug in some headphones.
Then drop the karaoke song into garageband. You do this by just draging and dropping the song file into garageband or if the song is in itunes just use garagebands media browser.
Now create another track (vocal track).
Put headphones on hit record and sing.
This is a bit over simplifed but give it a try someone will be here when you have more specific problems.

Why Can't I Import Track 10 from my Music Library?

I have 350 albums in my computer music library and I can't import any track 10 song from an album to iTunes. The message I get is: "The file 10 <Whatever Song Name>.wma cannot be imported because it does not appear to be a valid exported file." This happens on every track 10 title in my library and on one track 1 title that is 14 minutes long. Help!

I am a PC user, but this may help you??:
I am having the same problem with track 10 on two Springsteen CDs that would not play in my desktop PC (one was a dual dvd, the other a regular CD). So first, to get them to work, I had to find a source (my laptop) that would "see" the CD. Then I ripped to Windows Media, then copied onto an external hard drive, then imported into iTUnes.
Everything went well until track 10 on both (After that, the rest of the tracks imported okay on one CD, and then on the other track 11 had a problem, but the rest ok).I found a posting (see below for the link) and it solved the problem on track 10 on both (basically I changed the track# to another number else in the Properties/ Summary/ Advanced section). However it didn't work for that one track 11. So if anyone has ideas on that, I'd appreciate it. I tried fiddling with all the differnt categories in Summary (track name, album name, etc) and rename the song itself, removing the number, but to no avail. On fcp I would precut all my music choices, then lasso them all and move them around so easily....
imovie seems incredibly cumbersome to do this- dragging tracks only one at a time... and even then. can I insert them cleanly adter one tracks is over and just "push down" what else is in the cut??

to answer your question, we have to discuss different 'levels':
• sure, you can use the audio-tool of the iLife suite, Garageband, to pre-edit audio clips; 'share' it, and - and that is a concept of iLife-apps - you have access to those audio clips in any othe iLife-app, here: iMovie/Music
• no tracks.
iMovie (and its bigger brother FCPX) don't have 'tracks' anymore. Totally diff. concept: the storyline. Idea behind that: you lay out a single 'Ariadne's thread'. You are allowed to 'dock' clips (audio/video/stills/graphics) along that main line. Now, moving parts of the main storyline moves those accompanied parts too (=magnetic timeline).
in FCPX this storyline could be music only! (not so in iMovie)
• a workaround: add 'any' video clip to your Project (or just a colored background). now, you can drag your music to that 'main' clip and replace parts of it
• no tracks, pt II

you can add as many audio-clips as you want to the main storyline.
moving a clip, pushes others 'away'.
but: no tracks, so what do you mean by 'push down'? look …:
the first music clip is connected to the first video clip. 2nd one to 2nd videoclip.
dragging the 2nd video to a diff. position in the timeline would move the 2nd music too.
very handy in case of sound-effects:
the first clip has 3 sfx; moving that first video moves ALL connected clips too (=magnetic). I don't have to care for any tracks, don't have to 'compound' clips - all connected, just drag to create your 'story'.-
• iMovie limitations: iM is meant for simple consumer task: import from camera, organizing material, simple edit, add music/narration, perhaps a title, "A Day In The Zoo" done
if you own legacy FC/pro, I would consider using that - espescially, if you're 'thinking in tracks' - no tracks, no layers, no 'free floating clip somewhere in time' with these tools

Hard to know what the cause is because it's like this
I know what I did to cause this. I upgraded my one of my hard drives, renamed the drive and moved the folder. The missing pictures it can't find were added with the option in the advance menu "copy photo to library" turned off.

What I did is added a small SSD as my primary drive. Put the OS and all the apps on it. Moved my iPhoto and iTunes libraries to an large external. Most of the picture it is not having a problem wth. Only certain ones. Don't actually think I unchecked tha prefeence, but it's acting like i have.
