Can't extract files for installation.

Attempting to re-install CS6 on my computer. Downloaded teh necessary files but now the computer says that it cannot extract them. Help?

adobe's files are self-extracting and should not be explicitly extracted.

Vi error on nfs mount; E212: Can't open file for writing

Hi all,
I've setup a umask of 0 for testing on both NFS client (Centos 5.2) and NFS server (OSX 10.5.5 server).
I can create files as one user and edit/save out as another user w/o issue when directly logged into the server via ARD.
However, when I attempt the same from an NFS mount on a client machine, even as root I get the following error using vi;
"file" E212: Can't open file for writing
Looking at the system.log file on the server, I see;
kernel[0]: add_fsevent: no name hard-link! dropping the event. (event 2 vp == 0xa5db510 (-UNKNOWN-FILE)).
This baffles me. My umask is 0 meaning files I create and attempt to edit as other users are 777, but I cannot save out edits unless I do a wq! in vi. At that point, the owner of the file changes to whomever did the vi.
This isn't just a vi issue as it happens using any editor, but I like to use vi.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Hey, beer is on me!

I've narrowed it down to a Centos client issue.
Everything works fine using other Linux based OS's as clients.
Since we have such a huge investment in Centos, I must figure out a workaround. Apple support wasn't much help as usual however they were very nice.
There usual response is "its unsupported".
If Apple really wants to play in the enterprise of business space, they really need to change there philosophy. I mean telling me that I shouldn't mount home directories via NFS is completely rediculus.
What am I supposed to use then, Samba of AFP? No, I don't think so. No offense to Microsoft but why would I use a Windows based file sharing protocol to mount network shares in a Nix env???

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.

Problem with Audigy self extracting file for Vi

I have downloaded the latest Vista driver for the Audigy 2, which is a self
extracting file. When I run it, I always get the same error message:
file error[@s]crc,0xc50a2d5:0x0d8c70c
and then the process aborts. When I download and run the file on my XP
machine, it runs just fine and brings up the installation program. Any ideas
on how I can get this thing to run under Vista. I went this route because I
was never able to get the onboard Realtek '97 audio to work. Under that
scenario, Control panel says the device is working properly and there are no
conflicts, but the speaker icon in the system tray has a red x over it, and I
get no sound. I would gladly accept a solution to either problem so I can get
the audio working.

Ok, I've edited the VI you posted to reproduce my error (this time with 8.0).
I added a "master stop" and "start log" button. To demonstrate my problem:
1. Run the VI
2. Click "START LOGGING" - c:\test.txt is created
3. Click "STOP" - c:\test.txt is closed
4. Delete the file c:\test.txt with Windows shell or explorer
5. Click "START LGGING" - a new c:\test.txt file should be created but instead an error is raised in the Write LabVIEW Measurement File function.
Any ideas?

Can't Extract Files from System Image DVD

I recently created a Windows 7 system image onto DVD-RWs as my HDD was suspect. The HDD was replaced under warranty. When I came to restore the system image I got up to the fourth DVD and the process would not go any further (could not read the DVD).
I then tried to extract some of the more important files from the first three disks that the restore process had read successfully. I used the AttachVHD option under Computer management however for every .vhd file which I tried to attach I received a "The file or directory is corrupted anf unreadable" error message from the Virtual Disk Manager.
I also tried 7-Zip to extract files but received the message "Can not open file as archive" each time.
Can any one throw any light on why I can't read these .vfd files?

Only last night a user went through the same situation as you are going through. Details are important. For now I am assuming that your computer is Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. If other post immediately to let me know.
1. You need two files from Adobe, one .exe and the other .7z. If you have a 64 bit computer operating system
make sure the you see 64 in the name of the file.
2. Assure that you have antivirus and firewall disabled.
3. Right click the .exe file and select Run As Administrator. The double click the .exe to Run it. This will lead
you into the 7z which is the program.
If the desktop is not working as the destination for the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Folder which will be present after the 7z has completed, then set it to Documents.
In the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Folder, double click the PRE12 Folder to find the Setup.exe from which you will
install the program.
I will be back in a moment to add the link to last night's thread where we went through what you are going through now.
Make sure at the onset that you have the right files to be used with your specific operating system.

Can't select files for uploading through Flash Player

I can only say that this seems to be related to Flash Player, but I'm not 100% sure exactly what the cause of the problem is.
On most sites that uses a Flash uploader it won't allow me to select files for uploading. When I get to the Select A File dialogue box
all files are greyed out. This happens in Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I'm using the latest version of Mac OSX. I can't seem to find
any information about this anywhere on the web.

Make sure Java and Javascript are both turned on in Safari Preferences/Security.

How to extract files for the Solaris jre in Windows env?

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how in the world I can get my hands on the lib and bin folders that would be available to me if I was to install the sun 1.5 jre on a solaris sparc machine.
Obviously I have a windows machine on me and a LACK OF a solaris sparc one. But I happen to need the files that would be installed if I was to carry out the installation with a flavor of the 1.5 jre on a solaris platform.
Any clues? Help is much appreciated!

I downloaded and installed CS5.5 design premium on April 30. Just to be sure, I uninstalled , re-extracted and installed cs5.5 again without a problem. The problem seems to be related to the CS6 download.

Can't find file for Trojan Horse on my MacBook

Anyone seen this before?
I have the Norton Antivirus Program installed on my MacBook.
I believe an attack occurred while I was looking through the Apple Support Forums for help with a QuickTime problem and accidentally clicked on the following link: http:www.smacktalkpaintball.com/video/
The Norton Warning came up and I hit the delete option and then set Norton to scan manually.
The following came up at the end of the scan:
Virus "bof.jar-51a4bd07-3d4b399d.zip" detected, Today at 7:24 AM. Repair failed.
/Users/Owner/Li...bd07-3d4b399d.zip Trojan Horse infected
I was not able to locate either of these files anywhere on my computer.
I have two external hard drives that I use to back-up data, but neither of them were connected at the time of the attack, and nothing else was connected when I ran the virus scan.
I do not have Windows installed on this MacBook - Mac OS X, Version 10.5.8,

That sounds an unlikely outcome on both counts. Norton anti-virus is just that: anti-virus, and I would not trust it to deal with trojans.
Are you sure you actually installed a Trojan?
If you allow a Trojan to be installed, the user's DNS records can be modified, redirecting incoming internet traffic through the attacker's servers, where it can be hijacked and injected with malicious websites and pornographic advertisements. The trojan also installs a watchdog process that ensures the victim's (that's you!) DNS records stay modified on a minute-by-minute basis.

Can't get OPP service started after OATM due to can't open file for reading

This is my second run on the OATM upgrade. OPP (and thus XML reports) came up fine after the 2nd run. After this run, had some issues with enqueing and solved them in an S/R with Oracle, but now I can't start OPP. I have tried all sorts of things, like aborting it in OATM, restarting, shutting down instance, running cmclean twice, resubmitting request, etc. Here is the error I get:
As System Administrator in forms, go to:
Concurrent -> Manager -> Administer
-> pick Output Post Processor (from the many manager in the list)
-> by the way it says "Activating" under status, seems stuck there.
-> then hit the Processes button
-> it will show a long list of "Terminated" and default to the first
one at the top.
-> Hit the "Manager Log" button
-> you now get

- but what is wierd is that the permissions on this dir are 777. I can see old OPP logs in that directory from before OATM. I can manually create a file with the name it complains about , then the app opens up the blank file with nothing in it. It seems that file is not getting created, not that it can't be opened.
If I need to change the log level of OPP please also tell me how to do that if it would provide some clues.

How can load properties file for one time and use in entire application

I dont want to read properties file every time , and want to get property value in any servelet or jsp page.(means i want to read only property file only for once and want to get value in any where ) , how to do this.

want to be happen that ??? No you don't . You read the file once. You store it in the hashmap. Then you hand that hashmap to whatever class needing the data.
getProperties() returns the hashmap, doesn't read the file.
Maybe I should have called the method getMap or something.
