Can't figure out how to install sql server for PHP

I am trying to install SQL Server for PHP on a server with Server 2008 32 bit.  The exe from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20098 keeps tell me that it is an invalid win32 application.  I've tried running as administrator
as well.  Somewhere I read you need to open the exe with 7zip.  I was able to do that and see all the files in there, but where do I go from there?
Thanks
Mike
edit: forgot to mention I'm using Apache for my server

That solution is obsolete. The current solution is here:

  • Can't figure out how to install mtn lion on macbook

bought an upgrade to mtn lion, but can't figure out how to use the license to install.  It says "go to Mac App Store main page and 'quick links', but I'm not sure i'm even on the right page.  no quick links button.  Help!

Are you definitely looking at the App Store application (from your Dock or the applications folder)? It does not mean the Apple Store website. You'll have the App Store provided you already have 10.6.8 or later installed - if you're not sure, click the Apple menu on the top left of your desktop, and click About This Mac.

No, but it may help the chances of a successful installation.

  • I can't figure out how to install Bootcamp 5.

I recently bought a Windows 8 disc, with the hopes of installing it onto my MacBook Pro early 2011 version 10.8.5. I've read up on all of the instructions, and know how to install windows itself, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to install Bootcamp 5. The instructions on Apple's support website say I need to open up the Bootcamp 5 folder that I put onto a flashdrive (which I did) and open the setup.exe file while in windows.... "while in windows"... don't I have to have Bootcamp 5 installed before I can have windows installed and open? I tried installing Bootcamp 4 and installing my windows 8 64-bit onto there, but as I suspected, it won't actually install the windows 8 information, because bootcamp 4 doesn't support windows 8 64-bit. This is the first time I've tried doing anything like this before. I don't have windows 7, or bootcamp 4, or parallels, or anything like that. After giving it a lot of thought, I'm beginning to worry that Bootcamp 5 can only be installed if you already have windows 7 on bootcamp 4, and you're just trying to upgrade. I really hope that's not the case, because I've already spent over $200 on the windows 8 disk, and I can't return it. If somebody could please tell me how to install Bootcamp 5, if it's even possible without windows 7 already on bootcamp 4, I would really appreciate it...
    Thanks!

So I never installed grub or syslinux. You may want to reread the beginner's guide and specifically the section on efistub: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide#EFISTUB
Roughly summarized, condensed, and paraphrased it goes like this (and leaving out stuff you don't need):
Look at the output of "lsblk." It will probably show a 200MB partition as /dev/sda1. This is probably your UEFISYS partition.
Mount the UEFISYS partition at /mnt/boot/efi, chroot and copy the kernel and initramfs files as described below.
    Create /boot/efi/EFI/arch/ directory.
Copy /boot/vmlinuz-linux to /boot/efi/EFI/arch/vmlinuz-arch.efi. The .efi file extension is very important as some UEFI firmwares refuse to launch a file without this extension. Important: Remember that the file is called vmlinuz, but not vmlinux.
    Copy /boot/initramfs-linux.img to /boot/efi/EFI/arch/initramfs-arch.img.
    Copy /boot/initramfs-linux-fallback.img to /boot/efi/EFI/arch/initramfs-arch-fallback.img.
Every time the kernel and initramfs files are updated in /boot, they need to be updated in /boot/efi/EFI/arch. This can be automated either using systemd or using incron (for non-systemd setups).
You will find more nuggets here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/UEFI for your future improvements.
Create a refind_linux.conf file with the kernel parameters to be used by rEFInd:
    # nano /boot/efi/EFI/arch/refind_linux.conf
    "Boot to X" "root=/dev/sdaX ro rootfstype=ext4 systemd.unit=graphical.target"
    "Boot to console" "root=/dev/sdaX ro rootfstype=ext4 systemd.unit=multi-user.target"
Note that instead you may want to use a line similar to
    "Boot to X" "root=PARTUUID=78b89af1-8445-4f8d-bfed-9f57b96ee0a7 ro rootfstype=ext4 systemd.unit=graphical.target"
Those two things pretty much did it for me: copy the kernel files into /boot/efi/EFI/arch (after you mount the UEFISYS partition there!!!) and make the refind.conf file.

  • Can't figure out how to install ARD on Headless Xserve G5 running 10.4.4

Ok, I'm getting really frustrated not being able to figure this out. I have a new Xserve G5 running 10.4.4 I have no services currently rinning on it. I have all the sever administration apps installed (also 10.4.4) But my first order of business is to install some other software on the server.
I bought Apple Remote Desktop 2.2 Unlimited and installed the administer stuff on my powerbook.
But When i came to seting up the sever for ARD im baffled. Most documentation refers to setting up ARD on the server though the aever admin app. But I can't find any reference to ard in server admin.
    What am I missing ?

  • Can't figure out how to increase tempo curve for a track/region

    What I'm trying to accomplish:
Using the heartbeat.aif (Audio) that comes with Logic Pro, I'd like to have the affect of increasing the speed of the heartbeat over a defined period of time.
I've tried the "time machine" to change the BPM but it operates on the current selection in a region (there is no curve over time option). I've tried using Tempo Operations (Temp Curve) but those don't appear to work well with Audio files -- at least I was not able to get it to work well (suggestions are welcome).
What would be perfect is an Automation process that includes Tempo where I could draw the tempo change line and then capture that to a new region (via the Sample Editor).
As a temporary solution I could use the Time Machine to change smaller sections of the original source heartbeat.aif and do increment renders (i.e. 120.00 +50%, 120.00 + 100%, 120.00 + 150% and then merge the regions into one. But this does NOT provide a very smooth transition.
Also tried adding a Tempo Fader and connecting it to Audio track, but adjusting tempo using this method caused all kinds of undesirable results even if I recorded to file and tried to use the resulting audio file.
There must be something simple I'm missing -- any suggestions?
    Thanks, Rob.

Yes this is an Apple Loop (Heartbeat.aiff).
I must be missing something, I can't find any place in Logic Pro that lets me draw the Tempo?
Are you talking about: Options | Tempo | Tempo Operations
from here selecting "Create Tempo Curve"?
If so, I can't find a way to actually draw the curve from here -- unless I'm missing something? I can select a pre-defined set of 3 curve types. I've tried this approach but didn't get the results I expected -- I'm guessing the Curvature value needs to be 1.0? In fact, the only values this field accepts is 1, 0, or -1. Manual indicates positive or negative to increase/decrease speed. I can change the resolution from 1/1 to 1/8 to a finer change.
Regardless, I've experimented with this and no matter what I do, the audio region will change in the Arrange window but when I play the modified heartbeat it still sounds exactly the same, no change in tempo?? Is this a bug or am I just not doing something right?
    Thanks, Rob.

  • I can't figure out how to download my Canon PIXMA MP230 to my macbook air

Okay so i recently bought a new PIXMA MP230 printer and i can't figure out how to install it onto my Macbook Air as it doesn't have a CD drive. Help?

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 shows that your printer is automatically compatible with Mac OS X. This means you won't need to use the CD to install the drivers. If you you connect it via USB it should work automatically. If you want to have your printer wireless you may need to look through the manual as to how to make it join your wireless network.
