Can't figure out how to open Lightroom 5 (part of PS+LR Plan)
Hello. I am a Lightroom 5 beginner. I purchased the monthly '$9.99 photography' package of Photoshop that includes Lightroom 5. I opened the Adobe Application Manager and downloaded and installed Photoshop CC successfully. Then I went to download Lightroom, installed it, and when I went to click 'open' it didn't do anything. I figured I would just close it out and re open, but when I did that it just said 'up to date'. Where can I go to find this now? Sorry I am new to this, and I'm already not the best with computers! I have a Macbook Pro if that helps. I'm sure it's something simple!
You do open the program in the Aplication Manager. You open them like any other program, the installation should have put a shortcut on your desktop, or look in the program manager or mac equivalent.

Have you looked in your menu of programs (in Windows: Start -> All Programs -> etc....)?

I downloaded a book on iTunes with my MacBook Pro and want to read the book on my computer. Just can't figure out how to do it. Do I need a program to read books on the MacBook first or is this something I can get in the app store?

Can't figure out how to open multiple projects in imovie
I want to copy clips from one project into another. I've read you simply open the two projects and drag clips from one to the other. I may be missing something quite basic, but I cannot figure out how to get two projects open at once. If I open from the project list, I can only choose one. What am I missing????
Open the project that you want to take video from, select the frames that you want to include in your other project, and Edit > Copy (or Command-C). Return to your Projects list, select the project you want to add the frames to, move the playhead to the point where you want the frames to be inserted, and Edit > Paste (Command-V).

Can not figure out how to open .xls file
I am trying to open a spreadsheet that i have downloaded but my MacBook Air says invalid format. The extension on the file is xls. Is there a way to open the file? I'm fairly new to Mac and still learning. Please help!!

Can't figure out how to open program
I have downloaded the 30 day trial version and it is done installing, but i can not find a program or anything so i can use it.
Having the same issue - installed the application using the cloud.
It says the application is installed, but I cannot find it in either my Program File/Program Files (x86) folders.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled, still the same effect!
What has happened? All the other applications installed flawlessly without issues. -

Tabbed browsing is the way. Go to Safari's View menu:
and click "Show Tab Bar." When you see a link on another site you wish to open without closing the first site, simply right-click and select "Open Link in New Tab." -
I keep multiple photos in a desktop folder to be quickly accessed by using Preview. But when I try to open ONE photo, it opens multiple photos. Can't figure out how to display just the single one that I select. OS 10.7.2
This is the resume feature of Lion. The last state of the application is saved when quitting (i.e last pictures viewed in Preview, last videos viewed in Quicktime etc).
You can switch it off for Preview by copy and pasting the following in to the terminal application
defaults write com.apple.Preview NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false -
Can't figure out how to stop my MBP from opening programs at startup, namely word and messages
Recenty my MBPro has started opening MS Word and Messages at startup and I can't figure out how to stop it? I've tried selecting and de-selcting the startup option from the dock but this doesn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?
System Preferences has a setting for this.
In the Users & Groups section you will fine a "Login Items" header. This is a list of all the programs that will open automatically when you log in. You can select any program and click the [--] button below that window to stop the program from opening automatically. -
I am trying to download photoshop presets from online but can't seem to figure out how to open them in photoshop. They download sucessfuly and then goes to my download folder on my computer, from there I double click on the file and photoshop opens and then nothing happens, any ideas? I am using a PC

I'm getting error messages when I download updates for lightroom and flash for the mac. can't figure out how to trouble shoot.
It sounds as if your browser and some of your apps are not color-managed. This is pretty typical. Even IE9 is only partially color-managed.
You can expect color-managed and non-color-managed applications to show you different things with the same images. How different will depend upon how different your monitor color profile is from the image's color profile.
For web publication and most general use, experts usually advise saving images with the sRGB profile. If such images, saved through the Save for Web & Devices function, look different to you than you expect, it may be that your input images have previously been saved in another color space.
You should really try to get your head around color-management by reading more on it. It can seem baffling and it's difficult to understand without some background. A quick web search turns up many overviews. Beware, though, even people writing articles sometimes don't fully understand it.

When I open Safari, I always type command-plus to enlarge the view. However, I can't figure out how to permanently set the Safari screen to this view setting in the preferences. Any ideas?
Sorry, but you must Command + for every page. It's not permanent.

Downloads - I want to open some PDFs/other file types from the internet but not have to save them. I can't figure out how to view them and close them without having to save them first. When I click on a file, the downloads box opens and depending on the setting, it auto saves the file or asks me where to save the file. What if I don't want to save it anywhere, I just want to view it and close it?

when I open a new tab, there are 9 tiles that I am assuming should have 9 sites you've either been to or would like to make as favorites. I can't figure out how to drag a favorite into one of the tiles.
I've done this before. When I drag a bookmark to a new tab , all it does is opens up that book mark on that page , it doesn't place and save
it in the tile
