Premiere Pro and After Effects both require a 64 bit processor and 64 bit operating system.
If you're running 32 bit then you will not be able to download or install PP or AE since they will not run on your system.

JayneMarie I think your computer now has a 32 bit OS and since the CS5 version, Premiere Pro is not meant to work in a 32 bit environment.
Please check your OS details and make sure you have a 64-bit OS installed. If it isn't a 64-bit OS, you will need to reinstall the OS.

I can't find After Effects CC on Mac Pro

On my Apps list is says that After Effects CC is up-to-date, but I've searched the Mac and can only find a older version of After Effects CS5. I've also tried to uninstall the App but it cannot find it. Any Ideas?
(Mac Pro 2.26Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, running OS X 10.9.2)

CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when they are not

Can't find After Effects

Just subscribed to creative could, Ae doesn't appear on menu there. When I try downloading from adobe.com, it re-directs me to creative cloud again, where I can't find it. Please advice

Do you have Windows 32 bit version? if yes then After effects will not appear there and you won't be able to use it too.
Right click on My Computer icon>> properties to check.

Can't find After Effects user guide.

I just installed Production Premium CS5.5 a couple of days. One of the optional downloads is the Functional Content for After Effects. The description says that it contains templates, footage and a user guide not included with the trial version. I've installed the functional content but I can't find this user guide.

It's online: go Help>After Effects Help. It's actually more of a reference work than a how-to for the novice.
AE takes so flippin' many twists & turns that it's darned near impossible to put everything in a logical sequential order. If you're new, you owe it to yourself to pay a nice, long visit to this page. Start at the top with the overview of how AE works.
And there are a boatload of helpful links throughout.

Where can I find After Effects Tutorials to do a specific kind of animation?

I am new to After Effects and to learn it, I want to find some tutorials.
I want to jump right into this and start doing development as soon as I can.
In order to do this, I want to study tutorials that will instruct how to do effects I want in my video.
Here are similar videos to show as example. I want to know how to make text and images and maybe video clips fly onto the viewing area in a similar way that is done in these three videos:

My daughter, a regular reader of this forum and enthusiastic AE student, was humiliated when she accidentally clicked on the last video and those words started booming from her room.
Secondly, The first example and the last example are called dynamic text animations. You'll find lots of info about those on the web if you search those terms.
The second example is stop frame animation and requires a bunch of talent with a pen. If you can't draw it's really tough to do that kind of work. You could duplicate that kind of animation by setting up a high resolution digital camera above a large piece of paper and then setting up the camera to take 1 or 2 frames per second while you create the illustration with a pen. Then you bring the image sequence into After Effects, put it in a standard size composition and move it around to reveal the various parts of the drawing.
Come to think of it, please don't post videos with obcene language. Keep it PG13...

Problem in Creative Cloud desktop app filtering: can't find After Effects CC(12) version

I need to export a CC(2014) After Effects project in CS5.
I've saved in CC(12) version but now i need After Effects CC(12) to be able to save the project in CS6.
If i filter by "all versions" or by "audio/video" i see After Effects CC(2014) but if i filter by "previous versions" i see only Edge Animate CC and Gaming SDK
No way to see After Effects CC(12)!
Maybe because i'm using the italian version of Creative Cloud? I don't figure out how to change the Creative Cloud language, if i change language in english (in the Preference / Apps tab) this affects only the language of the downloaded apps, not the Creative Cloud itself... DUring the installation process of Creative Cloud there isn't any choice to select a language...
Why a simple thing like this is getting so hard...

Can't Find After Effects on Creative Cloud Installer

Downloaded and set up Creative Cloud Installer, and found photoshop, illustrator, and others, except After Effects.
Anyone who knows how to download After Effects trial ??

If your system does not meet the minimum system requirements you have to go back to a version that does. Try the direct download links you'll find here.. CS5 comes bundled with CS4 for AE which is the last version to run on a 32 bit system.

You cannot drag the effects themselves to the timeline. You add them to a clip in the Viewer, just as you have done.
If the clip was already in the timeline when you opened it in the Viewer (by double-clicking it in the timeline to open it in the Viewer) and then added the reverb effect, there is nothing further to do, you have added the effect to the clip. You don't drag it back to the timeline.
You only have to drag the clip to the timeline if the clip was not already in the timeline (for example, if you opened the clip from the FCE Browser; or set different In and Out points in a master clip to use a different portion of the master clip in a different location in your timeline).
Depending on the effect you add, you may have to render the timeline after adding the effect. But I don't think reverb requires immediate rendering. One other note, you said you were working with an audio clip ... audio clips need to be AIFF (not MP3 or something else) and preferably 16-bit stereo.

Can not download after effects trial on pc

So, im trying to make just a simple intro with after effects. Of course, i just wanted to try the program first. So , when i click "download trial" it takes me directly to adobe creative cloud doing absolutely nothing. I looked for a minute trying to find after effects on the creative cloud, after effects was not there. I tried many times to download the free trial just keeped doing the same thing. I don't know if it's because i have a pc , but i would really like an explanation of what's going on aswell, if i can actuly download the free trial. if anyone can solve this i would be most grateful.

After Effects is 64 bit only.
If you're running a 32 bit version of Windows then you cannot download or install After Effects - so it won't appear for you in the Cloud.
Is my PC running the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows?

Can't install After Effects as full version

Hi, I can't install After Effects as full version although veing customer of the complete CC. With all the other programs it works fine (I installed them via desktop application) but after effects is still shown as test version. And this free trial is over now. Instead of giving me the intsall or udpate button ot shows the buy-button. Has anyone had the same problem or knows what to do? Many thanks

If you did all the process correct, and your plan is paid I only see one way to solve this issue.
Follow this steps and for sure your problem will be solved.
Windows
Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Mac OSLog in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
After editing this Hosts file, open Adobe creative cloud and log in once again. Is important that you start once again the session so Adobe creative cloud recognizes that Hosts file was edited.
You can do this by clicking in:
Preferences»Log out.
