Can't find an email I see in Spotlight. Ideas?
I see an old email in Spotlight that I want to get to. I can't find it searching in mail, or in Finder. Any ideas here? I don't understand why I see the full text of an email thread in Spotlight that seems to be missing elsewhere.... Using 10.9.2
What happens when you select (and hence preview it) in Spotlight? Can you see the actual message (in preview form)? If, while previewing via Spotlight, you press and hold option-command, which mailbox appears at the bottom of the preview? That's where it should be found. Also: You can simply press return to display the message. Then, command-click on the message title will show its location.

Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account. -
For some reason or other I can't remember my password for my apple id and when I go to reset it I can't find the email they have sent me.I think they are sending it to my apple email [email protected] which I can't access as they are telling me my password is wrong and send me an email message to this email address which I cannot remember the password for. I am in a vicious circle.Support have emailed me and stated they can't change it?!
Sign in at http://icloud.com with the new ID and password and confirm that your data is still all there.
Then sign out in System Preferences>iCloud then sign back in with the new ID and password. Your data will disappear from your Mac when you sign out, but will reappear when you sign back in. -
Where can I find an email address for Verizon customer service?
I would like to send an email to Verizon outlining my opinion of their website and how it might be improved, but I can't find an email address. When I asked the representative, she directed me to the "Contact Us" tab. There I found a postal address!
There is no email address only a postal address. You can try to call CS, but they have no idea what the website does or is, or how to push opinions or concerns up the line. If you go a regional executive route, you might get a call, but they are not familiar with website operations or even know who to send your issue to. Perhaps one of your improvement ideas is something we can assist you with, in case it was something missed or we know another way to accomplish what it is you're trying to do.

How can I find my email in Apple Mail from before my company switched hosting providers? People with Outlook in my company have all of their old and new emails. My old emails have vanished from my Apple Mailbox on my macbook and other Apple devices. I do not have my mail backed up in time machine recently nor did I export my emailbox recently. Any ideas?
Try looking in your User folder.
Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Mail/V2
If you prefer to make your User library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I have to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible. -
trying to update apple tv (small black box). how do i do update? can't find system settings. i see system preferences no mac pro. does apple tv need to be plugged into hdtv for the update or PC. If PC, how?
You have to do it on the Apple TV itself while it's plugged into a TV so that you can see its screen.

When you say "2 minutes ago" was that literally 2 minutes ago, or did the page stay idle for some time? The page does not automatically update and continues to show the times of posts when last opened. If you leave the page and return to it, it will then update (reload) with new elapsed times.
Questions and replies come thick and fast. Perhaps the thread has been pushed down the page by newer posts. It could have been pushed to another page. Click on the Next button (top and bottom of page). "Next" is actually older posts (they are stored in descending time order).

Wow! Purchasing a new computer and monitor should be a fun and exciting experience, and instead, it sounds like it’s turned into a complete nightmare. I can only imagine your disappointment when you found two charges relating to its purchase on your debit card account, and I’m sorry for any aggravation this caused.
As I want to provide you some piece of mind, I pulled up your order number using your email address attached to the forum. After review of its payment information, I found we collected only one payment. However, when orders are first placed on BestBuy.com, a pending authorization should show up on your bank card to make sure funds are available for the order until it is fulfilled. From there, the authorization should drop off and the collection charge should appear. This is the case for your one charge of $1,051.69.
It also sounds like an error may have occurred when you initially attempted to place your order, resulting in one of your gift cards not registering properly and the order not being completed. Your card’s issuing bank doesn’t appear to have recognized this and pushed through the pending authorization. This occurred a second time when your account information didn’t quite match up with what we had on file. Please know that we haven’t ordered a collection of these funds and your issuing bank should release the two pending authorizations within 5 to 7 business days.

I need a receipt for OS Mountain Lion for my workplace. I can't find the email that's supposed to be sent automatically. Any suggestions ?
If you just purchased Mountain Lion, wait a couple of days. It sometimes takes that long for the receipt to arrive. Also check any anti-spam filters on your email application or email account to make sure that messages from Apple aren't being blocked.
If no receipt shows up within a couple of days, you can ask your company if a screen print of the order information from the Purchase History, which should be available through iTunes by viewing your account, would be sufficient. If not, you can contact Mac App Store Customer Service and ask if they can resend the receipt.

Safari can't find an email application
I'm trying to send an HTML email. I view the HTML page in Safari, and use File/Mail Contents of This Page. Safari responds with a box saying it can't find a mail application. But I use Apple Mail all the time, so I know it is there.
Any ideas on why Safari can't find my email client?
And, is this the best approach to sending an HTML email to several contacts?

JohnFrom the Mail menu bar, select Mail > Preferences > General. If "Mail 5.1" is not the default mail client, make it so. Then try again. You might have to relaunch Safari or even log out before the change takes effect.

When I attempt to email a link in Safari using "File" then "Mail Link to this Page", I can't. I get a message saying "...Safari can't find an email application." even though I am using mail. Why?
I got it - no need to respond. I went to Mail Prefs, General, Defalt Email Reader, and rechose Mail. Problem solved!

From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
