Can't find antenna

I know this is nuts but I can't find the antenna in my G5. I just bought a wireless extreme card (up till now I was wired into the router and didn't need it)and the only antenna's I can find are the really small ones that I think are for bluetooth. I looked at the online manual and it tells me that it should be there (silver wire with a larger connector on the end) but **** if I can find it. Any suggestions or tips?
Please disregard my model in the sig, this is for my G5 that is in work.
Thanks,

Hi, and a Warm Welcome to the Power Mac G5 Forum!
There is a photo of the antenna wires and connectors here (#4 - click to enlarge)
http://tersus.no/bluetooth/
The Airport Extreme! connector is the larger of the two with the brass tip (looks copper-coloured in the photo).
If you have a pre-dual-core G5 you also need the airport antenna
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86413
If you have a "Late 2005" dual-core G5 you do not need the external Airport antenna itself, as there is an internal antenna
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302721
Please post again if there are any questions. The antenna connector should be in there somewhere... Good Luck.

  • Argh Can't find a new laptop mini antenna connector adapter for my tuner

It's the little mini connector that came with the antenna.  it allows you to plug a standard coax cable into the mini tv tuner input.
Does anyone know a product number or somewhere I can get one?  I've looked everywhere!  HP Parts department was useless.  They just looked in the manual and then said 'nope' go talk to tech support.
HP tech support can't find it.  I've looked through every post in this forum.  Looked all over notebook review forums.  Searched everywhere online.  The tuner in my device manager is described as:
    HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner
If you have one and aren't using yours, let me know.

This company made the tuner in my dv4t. Scroll down on this page.

It's about 4 items down. I hope it's what you need. It looks like mine.

  • Stops working when using it with wifi antenna adapter. Good with 3.6 but now that I have 5 I can't find how to change back.

I live on a boat so I use a wifi antenna adapter to get internet. I used mozilla 3.6 until 5 came out and I updated. After that my internet stops more so I called the manufacturer and he said it doesn't work well with Mozilla 5 and I should change back to 3.6. Its not that it stops so much as when it does stop, I need to access the program that can change the source of the internet connection and with 5.0, it won't open the program so I can't use it. I tried to download 3.6 again and can't find it to download. Now I have to use internet explorer which I don't like.

  • Can't find my home network

    Greetings,
I have tried searching this forum and the Apple support pages, and can't find a solution. My new iPod Touch can't find my home network. I have an AirPort Extreme base station and am using WPA/WPA2 Personal security. My MacBook Pro has no problem finding my network, and works flawlessly. My iPod Touch, on the other hand, can not. Even though my home network is not a closed network, I still tried entering the network name and password manually, and it still doesn't see it. I tried turning security off completely in my Base Station>AirPort>Wireless settings, and that didn't help, either. My iPod Touch does see one or two other networks in my neighborhood, but not mine.
For the record, I am sitting less than two feet away from my AirPort Extreme base station, so I'm definitely within range, my iPod Touch can see other networks, so it would seem that it's antenna is not at fault, and my MacBook Pro sees and connects to my network without any problems, so it would seem my AirPort Extreme is set up properly. So what am I doing wrong?
    Any thoughts?

Thanks Scott, that did it. Within range of everything is a wireless security camera that was creating an interference issue with my MacBook Pro and AirPort Extreme, and the only solution, other than disabling the camera, was to switch from 2.4 GHz to 5.0 GHz under Base Station>AirPort>Wireless>Radio Mode, which eliminated b/g compatible. At the time, that was fine because my MacBook Pro was n compatible. I see now that my iPod Touch is not. I tried switching back to b/g compatible, and the iPod Touch found my network right away, but the MacBook Pro lost it.
    Can't win for losing.
The security camera has now been disabled, and both the iPod Touch and the MacBook Pro can access my network. I just won't be able to film the guy who tries to steal them.

  • Can't find wireless network

I just got a new mac cube for my office and installed an airport card in it. My computer recognizes the card but does not see any wireless networks. even when i manually enter my network name and password it can't find it: it either say "there was an error joining the network" or "wrong password" (it's definitely the right password. do i need to configure the new airport card somehow? this is driving me nuts!

Did you attach the antenna wire to the AirPort card when you installed it?

I tried the update, says my map is up to date...
Im sure it should work somehow..
    thanks

    Hey there,
    check out those following steps:
    > Using an external GPS receiver (for example connected via Bluetooth technology), please press 0 on the numeric keypad of your mobile device to connect to the GPS receiver, so you can use the full GPS functionality of Nokia Maps. If Bluetooth is not switched on already, you will first be asked whether you want to switch on Bluetooth. Your mobile device will then start searching for devices available via Bluetooth technology in your surrounding area. From the result list displayed, choose the correct entry to connect to your external GPS receiver.
You may be asked for a pass code to connect to your GPS receiver. Although this pass code is “0000” in most cases, please have a look into the manual of your GPS receiver to find out what the correct pass code is.
    >If no satellite signal is found, consider the following:
Check that your hand does not cover the GPS antenna
If you are indoors, go outdoors to receive a better signal
If you are outdoors, move to a more open space.
If the weather conditions are bad, the signal strength may also be affected.
The time it takes to establish a GPS connection may vary between a few seconds and several minutes.
Avoid using a screen saver when the GPS connection is being established
    >Please mind that when using an external GPS receiver (for example via Bluetooth technology), you have to press 0 key on the numeric keypad to establish a connection to the receiver (if Bluetooth is not already switched on, you will first be asked whether you want to switch on Bluetooth.
    >Check that the address is spelled correctly.
Check that the ZIP number and Country are spelled correctly and that they are compatible with the address.
Try to search online. A local search will only work if you have downloaded the necessary maps to the device.

  • My IPOD can not find a wifi to connect to.

My wifi is turned on and searches for a connection but can not find any.  Do I need some type of booster antenna in my home?

Does it connect to any other WiFi networks? If not it may have a hardware problem.
Do you have your WiFi network SSID hidden?

  • My iPod touch can't find any wifi?

My iPod touch can't find any wifi at all. I've restored it reset everything and it still can't find the wifi even when I had it right next to the router. Any help please? I got this ipod from my brother a few days ago and apparently the wifi worked fine until he updated it to the 3.1 update or something like that so he gave it to me. I want to be able to connect to the wifi in my house and it just won't. Any help please????

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My Toshiba Laptop , can't find my wireless router

My toshiba Satellite L500D Laptop , after 9 months after it was bought , can't find my wireless router anymore . I had a look over the internet and have worked out the problem is connected to the wireless finder and it won't fix because the combinatio Fn + F8 is not working ??? I really need help please !!
So far i have tried Following the laptop help and troubleshooting methods (COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME) i have tried what worked for some people to do with the flash cards.....

Let me see if I can help.
The Flash cards usually do not fail once installed.   For FN/F8 to work you need to have the right utility.  Also you need to have working and properly enabled Wireless devices.  If they are not then you will not have this option.
Is your wifi actually working.  Does it see any Access Points?  Can you go to Device Manager to see if the Wifi is not banged out?  Not sure but you can check to see if there is a wifi switch on the computer.  Look around the edge.  Some machine have this switch to enable the antenna.
When you say Flash cards do not work.  Is it the FN/F8 only or all cards.  FN (F1-F9).  If they do not work reply back and I will try to help you with the flash cards and then work on your wifi problem.
    Good Luck,

  • Podcasts downloaded to "wrong" folder, then ITunes can't find it anymore

    Hi
When I subscribe to a podcast or download the newest podcast, it will be saved not to the folder of itunesmusic/podcasts/name of podcast, but to /itunesmusic/downloads/podcasts/name of podcast, apparently as tmp-folder. Synchronising just then with my IPOD works, but when I exit ITunes and restart it, the podcast is not found anymore and I get the exclamation mark. When I search for it I can't find the podcast then anymore.
I have ITunes 7.0.2.16 and running Windows XP.
Any one has an idea how to solve this?
Also is there a way to downgrade ITunes to version 6 or so? Because there it worked without problems.
    Appreciate any feedback.

Too my a bit to work out *** was going on, but it was driving me insane with podcasts vanishing on me.
To clarify, this is a full description of the issue:
I have a problem with iTunes losing podcasts. They'd download, seem to play, but when I exited and reloaded iTunes a load of them would be lost and give me the exclamation icon. I've managed to work out why iTunes is losing my podcasts, but have no idea how to fix it.
I've got a folder specified which I want iTunes to use to store my stuff in (E:\Media\itunes).
When I subscribe to a new podcast it downloads to a file called E:\Media\itunes\Downloads\Podcasts\File on 4_ Phone tap evidence - 21 N.tmp\download.mp3 and creates a folder called E:\Media\itunes\Podcasts\File on
I think it's supposed to save it to the first location and then copy it across to the second folder when it's finished. Except it doesn't. iTunes can run the podcast now, but from the temp folder.
When you restart itunes, it nukes everything in the E:\Media\itunes\Downloads\Podcasts folder - I assume as it thinks I have no downloads outstanding and anything in here is just junk.
Apart from manually copying, renaming and point itunes to this file - how do I get around this problem. It's only started since I went to iTunes7 and a complete uninstall/registry/config cleanse followed by a reinstall doesn't fix the problem.

  • Aio remote can't find printer

I have a HP Envy 4507. My AiO Remote app can't find it. This is not a compatibility issue as I have been selling 4507's which I demonstrate by connecting to them. I originally was able to connect on the one at home but not lately. I keep on seeing the one from work. HP ePrint sees the home one fine. I have reinstalled AiO Remote and now it cannot see any printers, no matter how I try to connect. Tried ip address, direct (which was working before) and through wireless router which worked when I first set it up.

    Hi,
Thinsg to quickly check would that there has been no recent  wifi password changes - if there has been any, they password would need to be re-entered into both the mobile device and printer.
Another quick thing to try is restarting the mobile device - this sometimes helps re-establish the  connection.

  • Macbook pro can´t find/connect to my hotspot

    Dear experts!
I recently moved to a new place and got myself a T-Mobile HomeNet Router. Everything works fine (WiFi and Ethernet) with all devices (iPhone, iPad, iMac, Linux-machine...) EXCEPT my MacBook Pro (specs below in the product section) :-(
Ever since I moved the Macbook can´t find or connect to my home hotspot. Settings on the router are as follows:
    - 802.1 b/g (it IS capable of b/g/n but I found a thread somewhere pointing out that this could be an issue)
    - channel 13 (deactived auto-channel because my neighbours had overlapping channel settings...this was the only one that worked)
    - rate auto
    - frequency 2.4 GHz
    - 30% signal strength (same reason as above)
    - QoS activated
    - SSID hidden (tried broadcasting it, made no difference)
    - WPA2-PSK
    - AES (TKIP and TKIP+AES available as well...but neither made any difference)
I can connect via ethernet, however that´s not the intended purpose of neither my notebook nor the router :-/ Someone suggested it might be an encryption issue but even without  ANY encryption the hotspot won´t show up in the list. Password contains special characters but even my old iMac doesn´t seem to have problems with it. I tried connecting manually via "other network" without success. Also via Controlpanel -> Network -> Assist me ...
I´m sitting right next to my router so the signal strength can´t be the cause either (besides all other devices work just fine anywhere in my appartement). Restarted all devices, each one is up to date. Last thing I tried was making the changes in Firefox cause someone suggested it might be a bug in the router software, still no success.....I´m out of ideas.
Posted this in another Mac forum already but no one could help me :-( You guys are my last hope ... does anyone know this issue and how to solve it??
any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
    many thanks in advance

  • HT201269 When I updated my wife's iphone 4s the last time to IOS 7 she lost all her contacts. I logged onto icloud because I thought they would have been save there but I can't find them.  My daughter and wife use the same Apple ID

About 2 weeks ago I plugged my wife's iphone 4S to our pc to update  it to IOS 7and backup her iphone info to icloud. When I was done my wife's iphone had my daughter's ipod info on it and I can't find my wife's info on icloud anywhere. My wife has about 6 years of business contacts on her iphone so she is rather upset. Is there a way to recover her contacts?

You don't have to wipe anything, but when you get a chance make sure you backed up to icloud.
What that means is your contacts inside of the phone either physically or liquid damaged. To check
which, you can look inside and if you see a little pink, that would give you a water damage. If you don't
see pink it means that you to many times plugged in that charger the other way or tried to. May be
used some other things to plug in. If you flash the light in you may be able to see those contacts.
If I were you, i would not believe me, good luck!
