Can't Find Artwiz Fonts!

Hi
I'm sure that I'm missing something but what do I have to do do enable artwiz fonts?
I've installed the package but I can't find them in abiword, openoffice, obconf nor lxappearance!
Thanks!

Did you add a line in your xorg.conf file for them?  Such as:
Section "Files"
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/artwiz-fonts"
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/misc"
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/TTF"
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/local"
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/Type1"
EndSection

  • I can't find the Fonts window.

    The "help" document on formatting the text in a form using fonts mentions a font window, which it says can be accessed by clicking on "Show Fonts," which it says is buried under a popup menu named "Format," and can, in some programs, be accessed by clicking a button in either the toolbar or the settings panel.
    I can't find the font window.  Does this mean that the author the PDF disabled formatting?

    If you only have Adobe Reader, no, it doesn't mean that. Those instructions are for Adobe Acrobat.

  • How can I find a font in a Keynote presentation?

    Is there a way to do a "find" for the places that a particular font appears in a set of Keynote slides?
    When I opened a Keynote presentation I'd created last year I got a warning that it could not find "MS PGothic" -- which is likely true since I don't use that particular font.  The warning told me that this font was on the 2nd slide but all I see there is the standard TNR font that I use for text blurbs.  I'd like to search for where this random font appears but I could not find a way to include a font-spec in the Edit->Find parameters.
    Is there some place where I can see all the fonts in use in a presentation and, more specifically, pinpoint the places were a given font is in use?
    This is Keynote on my computer, not the iPad rendition of Keynote.

    The Replace Font wasn't useful because the rogue font was not visible and, thus, a change to some other font (even when I picked one that should have been a stand-out) didn't help me locate the bad spot(s).  I did use your suggestion and created a new slide, moving bits onto it from the 'bad' slide until I got that new one to 'break' also.
    I eventually narrowed it down to the 'soft' line breaks I'd inserted in some of the text blocks.  For some reason that I can't explain those line-break characters had rendered in that MS PGothic font, which I don't use (and which I had disabled). Once I knew the pattern, it was a fairly simple matter to select the text block (including the line breaks) and reapply the paragraph's font.  And, viola!, the warnings are now gone.

  • Where can I find SAND font?

    Hi, I just inhreited my sister's computer, running 10.4.1 like mine did, but for some reason, hers doesn't have Sand in the fonts. Right now I am hooked up to my old one by firewire and could copy the font to hers, but I can't find it on mine. It isn't under Fonts in the library or in system/library/fonts. Any other place it could be?
    Or any suggestions on where to get it and download it?
    Thanks,
    Katarina

    Hi Katarina,
    You may have been looking in the wrong folder. The Fonts folder in the System folder belongs to OS X. The Fonts folder in the System Folder belongs to OS 9.

  • Where can I find the font files on my computer?

    I am looking to find where my font files are so that I can use my own fonts for an animation in Blender

    Generally, they're in either /System/Library/Fonts/, /Library/Fonts/, or ~/Library/Fonts/; use the Go to Folder command in the Finder's Go menu to access these folders. If a given font only shows up in one application, control-click it, choose Show Package Contents, and copy the font file out.

  • Can't use artwiz-fonts in urxvt

    For some reason, I can't get any fonts from artwiz-fonts working with urxvt. I did
    $ sudo pacman -S artwiz-fonts
    And it installed fine. Then I changed the line in .Xdefaults to
    URxvt*font: xft:lime
    But when I open urxvt it just shows the ugly default font. I have tried doing this with the fonts lime and snap and they both don't work, but I can change the font to things like Droid Sans Mono. What can I do to fix it?
    EDIT:
    Also, when I restart subtle, I get this error in the console:
    Fontconfig warning: Directory/file mtime in the future. New fonts may not be detected
    Does that have anything to do with it, and if so, how do I fix it?

    Wow thanks Reki, that helped! (I did change the directory to /usr/share/fonts/artwiz-fonts.) However, when I change
    -artwiz-lime-medium-r-normal-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
    to
    -artwiz-snap-medium-r-normal-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
    It quits working again. Is there a special way of generating those names or something?
    EDIT:
    No, it's not the names, it's just that snap doesn't work, but others like anorexia, glisp, etc. work fine. I wonder what's wrong with snap?

  • Acrobat Can't Find Wingdings Font

    I just received a PDF file which, when opened, informed me that Acrobat can't find my Wingdings font. I opened a text box and used Wingdings, Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 3. How can I point Acrobat to my Wingdings font for this document? For future documents?

    No problem. Thanks for letting us know your solution. We often get so tied up in our views, we also forget the simple ones. Fonts can be confusing, but this is a good lesson on why you should embed fonts when you send the PDFs to others, at least those outside your office. I have seen PDFs that look like trash because a font had not been embedded. The most common case is with folks using LaTeX and not embedding fonts that are not on either a PC or a MAC. One guy created a whole program for a conference and posted it. In AA7 (with the font issue AA7 had) all of the titles were in a Greek font and were unreadable. I am sure they looked fine to him.
    Sounds like you need a bit of a stress reliever tonight. Have a good one.

  • How can I find which font is used inside a PNG?

    Hi,
    When I started my company, I had a company logo and website designed for me by another company.  This company doesn't exist anymore and all I have left are the source files of my logo and website.  They delivered me the logo in PNG format.  I am trying to make different sizes and shapes of my logo, but when I open the PNG file in Fireworks (CS5), it says that the font is missing, so whether I want to replace the font or keep appearance.  How can I find out which font was used in the original PNG file?  When I select the text, the font selection box is empty, so I cannot see which font was originally used...
    Thx,
    Steven

    Hi Linda,
    I tried it and you are right.  I kept trying to preserve the appearance.  Never tried the replace fonts option!
    Thank you very much for your help!!

  • Illustrator can't find new font

    I am trying to use a new font I just downloaded online. When I try to use the font it doesn't show up in the selection. I looked and the font is located in my user > me > library > fonts folder but still won't find it. I even tried to put it in Macintosh HD > Library > Fonts with also no luck. I tried this with multiple fonts to see if I have the same issue...sure enough, I did.
    These are .ttf files.
    It's funny because all the Adobe programs refuse it but programs like TextEdit, and Font Book seem to find it fine.
    Any help?
    System: Mac OS X Version 10.6.2

    Jacob should probably not be giving advice to someone on the Mac system because no matter how many times this is posted he always tells it his way.
    But when trashing the preferences on a Mac what you really need to do is trash the entire Settings folder, as is probably true of the Windows platform…because the folder itself can become corrupt. Also as has recently been posted so can the permissions for that folder and its content.
    This is how you find the Adobe Illustrator settings folder
    1. Quit Illustrator.
    2.Go to User/username/Library/Preferences/ Adobe illustrator CS4 Settings and trash the settings folder, the whole folder not just the contents of the folder..
    3. Start Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.
    4. Also you may on occasion have to trash the com.adobe.illustrator.plist file also in the same User/username/Library/Preferences/ directory but a little further down.
    Then check the permissions you do that by using the disk utility and then manually checking it by right or control clicking on the Illustrator icon and going to get info to the bottom you will see where you can change the sharing and permissions you may have to change the permissions for all the users listed though on my Mac it works fine this way.
    However if it is a question of the fonts not showing up it may not be the settings for Illustrator depending on what font manager you are using it maybe the font manager or something wrong with the fonts or the system itself.
    i have had this happen to me as well after updating software but for sure I do not recall what software it was that causes this.
    But I use Font Agent Pro and by quitting and restarting Font Agent Pro seemed to always fix it.
    I suggest getting a font manger other than Font Book though some users are happy with Font Book.
    If you add your fonts with font book they will show up in your applications.
    Trying to load them yourself is probably not so helpful as you might think best to use something like FAP or Linotypes free type manager I think it is called font Explorer.

  • Can't find iPhoto font on hard drive

    I have Bradley Hand in iPhoto. I can use it when I send an email or make a slideshow. However, I can't seem to use it or find it anywhere else on my computer.
    Spotlight doesn't find it and it is not available to me in other programs. Any information to solve this issue?
    I'm using iPhoto 11 on Lion.
    Thanks...

    Odd. On my System it's in
    HD/ Library / Fonts
    But you should access via the Font browser built into the apps only.

  • ASDoc Error: Can't find Embedded Fonts?

    Hello,
    I am working in Flash CS5 Professional.
    On my stage, I have a dynamic TextField (my_txt) that uses a basic font, we'll say Arial. However, I want to format some of the text within the field with a custom font.
    I've embedded the font and exported to ActionScript as per Adobe's documentation, so now there is a Font item in my library named "MyCustomFont".
    The properties of the Font are -
    Class: MyCustomFont
    Base Class: flash.text.Font
    So, I've written a custom class file and I want to format the text, so the AS code within the class looks something like this:
    var my_font:Font = new MyCustomFont();
    var my_fmt:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
    my_fmt.font = my_font.fontName;
    my_txt.setTextFormat(my_fmt, 5, 15);
    This is pretty much like the examples I've seen in Adobe Docs. And, it works swimmingly when I test the movie; however, when I try to document the class using the ASDoc command line tool, I get the error:
    /Path/To/Project/And/The/Classes/SomeClass.as(221): col: 27 Error: Call to a possibly undefined method MyCustomFont.
                var my_font:Font = new MyCustomFont();
                                       ^
    I THINK I understand why ASDoc isn't finding the "method" MyCustomFont... the "method" is actually a Class contained in the Library within the .fla.
    So, is there a special argument I need to write in the ASDoc command line so that it will recognize embedded fonts?
    Or, am I supposed to use an "import" statement in SomeClass to import the embedded fonts somehow?
    Thanks!

    Ahhh...found the answer, do the same thing as I would do for any project that uses the built-in AS3 components (such as FLVPlayback):
    Put the Font items into a new .fla library and export a SWC.
    Then use the "-library-path /Path/to/SWC" argument in the ASDoc command line tool.

  • [SOLVED] Web browser won't use (or can't find) Helvetica font

    I'm currently using Gnome 3.6.2, Firefox 17.0.1, and Chromium 23.0.1271.97.
    Many sites that I visit use a Helvetica font variant: Helvetica, Helvetica Neue, or Helvetica World.
    However, it seems as though the actual names of these fonts vary depending on where they were purchased.
    For example, you will find the following names scattered across the internet:
    - Helvetica Std
    - Helvetica LT
    - Helvetica LT Std
    - Helvetica LT Com
    and so forth...  and this includes the variants as well.
    Nowhere, including the Adobe website, have I found just "Helvetica" alone.
    However, I'm not a font expert and this may not matter.
    The family "Helvetica" may be specified within the font itself.
    Yet, this does not seem to be the case because although I have Helvetica LT Std installed, no browser will render it for just "Helvetica".
    I tried creating the following font alias:
    <alias>
    <family>Helvetica</family>
    <prefer><family>Helvetica LT Std</family></prefer>
    <default><family>fixed</family></default>
    </alias>
    But that does not work.
    Where am I going wrong?
    I'd also like to note that Firebug on Firefox is the only web developer tool that will show which font is actually being rendered on the page, as opposed to just listing the css rule.

    Excuse me, do you mean you have not any Helvetica typeface installed yet? What is the output of

    No, that's not at all what I mean.  If you read the first post, then you'd realize that I'm struggling with getting Firefox to use something like 'Helvetica LT Std' in place of 'Helvetica' or 'Helvetica Neue LT Com' in place of 'Helvetica Neue'.  I'm now resorting to simply copying over 'Helvetica.ttf' under the assumption that it will provide simply 'Helvetica' without the 'LT whatever...' .

  • How to do apps groups? I can't find the "fonts windows" TIA!

    THNAK YOU

    Yes, you can add music into Windows Media Player, and since your using Windows Vista (correct me if I'm wrong), it should support iTunes music (aac, m4a)..... If you opened Windows Media Player for the first time, you should see a pop up, follow through, and then the player will open, you should see a second link, of which it will search your folder on your computer and then add it to your Windows Media Player.
