Can't find attachments sent to me

Although I have designated the Downloads folder for my attachments, they never show up there. They are only inside my incoming email so if I delete the email, I lose the attachment.
Unless I'm doing something wrong this is a very bad system.

1. I am not sure what you have for hardware, but right click can be done on an apple mighty mouse. Click on the left side to use Mighty Mouse in its simplest, single-button form. Click on the right to access contextual menus within applications and edit, copy, label or download from your mouse.

2. Correct. Like any mail application I have used on either windows or mac, attachments are the exclusive property of whichever mail app one uses until the user decides to save the attachment to somewhere specific on the machine.

  • Sometimes can't find a sent email in Lion - any idea why?

Since upgrading to Lion I sometimes can't find a sent email.
    The pattern seems to be:
    1. It's with a Gmail account.
    2. I think it's when I reply more than once to the same mail.
I want to look back over the mail and just don't see it anywhere within Mail. I know to whom the email is sent and I try looking for all mail sent to that person (even checking everywhere) and I can't find the very last email I sent.
If I go into Gmail and look at All Mail I do see the mail there. And the person does receive the mail. It's just not showing up in my sent mail in my Mail app.
Any idea why this might happen?
    Thanks,
    doug

    Hmm....
I'm thinking now that maybe it could be cases where I sent the reply from my iPhone Mail app instead of my iMac Mail app...
The email I was just talking about does show up on my iPhone Mail app, even without going into Gmail.

  • Can't find photos sent on iPad Air

I questioned how to send photos from my ipad & received an answer that worked - I believe - but answered my phone & when I came back to my ipad I can't find that email anywhere!  It is like it never existed!  Am sure I didn't hit send.  IiWhere do they go if you don't send immediately?  I hate to appear a real fool & have to call the recipient & ask if they received that email - or send it twice.  I am NOT computer savvy!!  Obviously!  Any ideas?
    AnnieDee

    Hey AnnieDee,
In the Mail app on your iPad, check your Sent and Draft folders. If you didn't hit send, it's most likely saved in your "Draft" folder. This functionality ultimately depends on what type of email service you use (gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc).

  • Where can i find the sent emails from iphoto?

    Sending emails from iphoto works.
But where can i find the history of my sent emails from iphoto. I can´t find it in mail.
    Thanks for help!

iPhoto and Mail are two entirely separate apps, so Mail keeps no record of what iPhoto does and vice versa.
iPhoto's mail feature is aimed at folks who use web mail generally, and who wanted templates. It's a handy way to send photos to Grandma, it's not an email client. It doesn't have a history or sent mail box.
    Workarounds:
You can set iPhoto to bcc yourself automatically
    or
Use Mail. It has templates too, and more of them.

  • Can't find photos sent to mobil me

I've being trying to upload photos to my mobile me account from the iPad Photos program. So far it appears like they are going to the iDisk but when I log in via the iDisk utility I simply can't find them from then a second issue appeared . I tried to change the account to which the Photos uploads but I found my self totally lost. How to change this account? It tied changing the default account forthe iPad but this doesn't change a thing.
    Any thoughts?

For Apple is currently rolling out iCloud, some problems might occur. Have you checked a specific folder, or anything alike?

  • In Mail where can i find my sent emails? How do I open this send box?

In Mail how do I open the send box? I need to find and forward my sent emails.

If you hold the iPad in landscape orientation you should see your email account id (or Mailboxes if you only have one email account set up on the iPad) shown top left. Tap on your account id (or Mailboxes), and then tap on Sent to show your Sent emails. You should then be able to select an email and Reply/Reply All/Forward/Print them via the arrow icon top right.

  • Can't find my sent mail

I typed a long detailed e-mail a couple of hours ago and sent it. Later I went back to check for a reply and noticed that it didn't seem like Mail was "Getting Mail". There were no new mails, whereas on my iPhone there were new mails. I looked in the Sent Mail, etc and there is no sign of my long detailed sent e-mail. I had to Force Quit Mail due to Mail being non-responsive, and then started it again, when it did get my new mails, but still no sign of the sent e-mail. Can anyone please help? I'm just using the Mail application and my regular .me e-mail account. Thanks in advance for any help. The info in the e-mail was important, and I can't remember all of it now. My ISP is AT&T.

    Mail/Mailbox/Rebuild - may work.

  • I can not find my sent emails on iPad2 and the icon is no longer on the screen.

I have an Ipad2 under accounts I have the icon inbox and under it a trash can but there is not a sent email icon. How can I locate sent emails? On my first Ipad there is a sent icon.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account and restarting your router.
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

  • HT201320 Can't find my sent e-mail messages

    Hello All-
I have my e-mail set up, but, I cannot see my outbox, or drafts, only my inbox.
    Thanks,
    Dee Anna

Scroll down in the Mail app to the Accounts section and tap on the account name.
Note that unless you have an MS Exchange, iCloud or IMAP account you will not see messages sent from your computer, only those you send from the phone. And even for those there will be nothing there until you open the folder, which causes it to sync with the server.

I also can't open up one of my company web sites since downloading.

Below is the contact info I found starting at the support link I posted above.
Click the Contact Us link at the top, then click the Support Phone List link on the middle-right of the resulting page and finally select United States from the drop-down at the bottom of the last page.
    Hope this helps a bit.

  • Lost all my Sent Messages / How can I find them?

I lost all my Sent Messages and I need them very much!! How can I recover them?
    CRISMADRI

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
Are you using Mac Mail or internet based like Yahoo or GMail?
If it's Mac Mail, with the Mail application open, from the Menu Bar click Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors. You will see Drafts, Sent, Junk and Trash. Where it says Sent, do you have the button selected where it says: Store sent messages on the server. ???
This from the Mac Mail Help Viewer:
I can't find email messages stored on the mail server
If you have an IMAP email account and you set the account preferences to store copies of messages (draft, sent, junk, or trash) on the IMAP mail server, you might experience situations in which your messages are not stored where you expected.
When Mail attempts to store messages on the server, it looks for specific mailboxes, by name, in which to put the messages. If Mail doesn't find those mailboxes on the server, it tries to create them. If Mail can't create them on the server, it can't store the messages. For example, Mail looks on the server for a mailbox called Sent Messages in which to put the sent messages. If Mail can't find a Sent Messages mailbox on the server, it tries to create one. If it cannot, it doesn't save copies of messages you send. You might be able to address this issue if there is another mailbox on the IMAP server (for example, Sent Items) that contains the messages you're looking for. You can have Mail use that mailbox to store its sent messages. To do so, select that mailbox (listed under the account's name and icon) in the Mail viewer window, choose Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For and then choose Drafts, Junk, Sent, or Trash, as applicable. You can select any mailbox on your IMAP server to use to store draft, sent, junk, or deleted messages.
If you change the account preferences to no longer store copies of messages on the mail server, you'll see that messages aren't where they used to be. To use sent messages as an example: If you were saving sent messages on the server and then change your settings to save those messages on your computer, the Sent mailbox will change to contain only messages stored on your computer; messages that were stored on the server will no longer appear in that mailbox. Instead, you'll see those messages are now located under the account's name and icon at the bottom of the list of mailboxes, in a mailbox called Sent Messages. Similarly, if you change from saving sent messages on your computer to saving them on the server, the Sent Messages mailbox will change to contain only messages stored on the server. You'll now see the messages that were saved on your computer in a mailbox called Sent Messages, followed by the account name in parentheses, such as Sent Messages (.Mac Account).

  • Can't find sentbox or deleted items, or forward to a Group

We are 70+ and need some assistance: We can't find a Sent box in our email set-up. We can't find a Deleted box either. We can't work out how to forward an email to GROUPS set up in our address book. This is new to us. We have been using Windows XP on our old computer.

Sent and Deleted may not come into existence until you need them. Have you sent or deleted a message yet?
Maybe you can't see the folders.
First of all, I recommend you set up the regular menus, and the toolbars.
    http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/13_Menus_in_Thunderbird.html
Then check '''View|Layout|Folder Pane''' is selected
Then check '''View|Folders|All''' is selected too.
If by "groups" you mean a Mailing List, you just enter the List's name in place of an email address. (I don't think there is any easy way to import Groups from other email programs.)
Here are some words from [http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/10_Thunderbirds_Address_Book.html my website] about using the address book in Thunderbird:
There are several ways to use Thunderbird's Address Book.
Open the Address Book, select an address book, select a Contact (or several Contacts) and click the "Write" button (in the Address Book). This will create a new message, with the selected Contacts added to the To: address boxes. This approach has two major disadvantages; it can only be used to start a new message (it's of no use when replying or forwarding) and all the addressees are placed in the To: box, which is undesirable, unless you know for sure that all of these addressees have consented to their addresses being shared amongst them. This is fine between colleagues in the workplace, but unacceptable with friends' private email addresses.
If you select a Mailing List and click on "Write", then again a new message will be created, this time with the Mailing List's constituent Contacts all filled into the new message's To: boxes. This might be useful if you wanted to omit a Contact from a group mailing.
As mentioned above, there is an autofill system. Another way to use your Address Book is to start a new message (it could also be a reply or forward). If you don't want to send using To:, click on To: and alternative sending modes – Cc:, Bcc: etc, will appear. Select one, then just start typing a name or address into the address box. Suggestions that match what you've typed will appear. Move to the correct address and click it or press return, the address will be filled in and the cursor will advance to the next line. Even though there are, typically, only four address lines on show, Thunderbird will keep adding new lines and offer a scroll bar to allow them to be seen. You can grab and drag the top edge of the message text pane down to make more room for the display of addresses.
If you prefer a visual prompt, then when composing a message, use the F9 key, or via the compose window's menu:
    View|Contacts Sidebar
and a sidepane will show you a compact view of one of your address books. You can now select Contacts, and use the Add to... buttons at the bottom, or drag-and-drop Contacts into an address box, or right-click and select an option from the context menu.
Mailing Lists will appear intermingled with your discrete Contacts, and can in principle be used in place of a Contact to stand for all the member Contacts stored in the Mailing List. The sending mode will be applied to each of the member Contacts within a Mailing List, so if you send to a List using Bcc:, it will act as if each of the Contacts named in the list was individually addressed using Bcc:.

I can't find my sent message folder..help! Please

  • Fire Fox sent not all the data in text form. Reached only piece of information. Where can I find the cache of sent text?

Fire Fox sent not all the data in text form. Reached only piece of information. Where can I find the cache sent the text?
For example, I posted an article on a news site, but found that only a small part of my article was posted.

I'm not sure whether Firefox saved that information. There is a chance that it is in the session history file, especially if you haven't closed that tab yet. To check that:
Open your currently active Firefox settings folder (AKA your Firefox profile folder) using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Find all files starting with the name sessionstore and copy them to a safe working location (e.g., your documents folder). In order to read a .js file, it is useful to rename it to a .txt file. Or you could drag it to Wordpad or your favorite word processing software.
The script will look somewhat like gibberish, but if you search for a word in your article that doesn't normally appear in web pages, you may be able to find your data.
    Any luck?
For the future, you might want to consider this add-on, although I don't know how long it saves data after you submit a form: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lazarus-form-recovery/].
