Can't find audio

Have tried twice to encode a piece using compressor. Video turns out nice (turns it out s l o w l y but nice)
Don't know how it turns out audio because I can't find it, twice.
Selecting entire project in timeline submitting it to compressor. Simple setting under 60 minutes, SD, Audio AC3. Press submit, go to bed, wake up next morning, go to IHop, eat breakfast, come home compressor says "successful".
Liar liar pants on fire. There's no audio. I'm sure it's pilot error. Help?

The way I do this is to Export a QuickTime Movie and choose a location on my media volume. Then close FCP and open Compressor, drag the QT file to the Batch window, sending the MPEG2 and the AC3 files to a location on my media volume, and start squishing.
You can also make the QT movie a reference movie, but even though it takes longer, I like to create a new QT movie because it helps to ID the genesis of any problems later.

Can't find audio file

Hello-
Using Logic 8 here on OS 10.5.8. I'm working on one project on two computers (at work during the day, and at home, during the night). While working I'm adding audio files to the project (audio files are being copied into the audi file folder for the project). However, when I move the project (with the entire folder, I mean copy the entire project folder including audiofiles to the other computer), when I open the project up on the new computer, I always get an error message saying that it can't find the new audio I had added while working on the other computer. The problem is, it changes the name of the files it wants... what happens is while working on computer 1 I add a file called "car" to the arrange and the file car is in the audio folder. Everything seems fine. However when I open the project up on the new computer (having copied the new "car" file as well) when it opens it says that it can't find the file called "car#F2EAE"... a file which I cannot find existing ANYWHERE on either computer (computer 1 or 2)... when I try to manually link the file "car" to "car#F2EAE" I get different results, usually something is changed, or I get an "invalid region" error and the audio file wont link. Does anybody have any idea what this is? I mean if I did something like timestrech the "car" file and it would create a new file then I could understand that, but still I copy ALL of the files that Logic is creating... it doesn't seem to be throwing any files anywhere else... I really don't understand. Any ideas why this is? The only big difference I can see is that the work computer is power PC imac and my home is an Intel Mac Pro... but still they run the same versions of the OS and Logic.

You have fallen victim to the atavism of Logic: it cannot handle filenames longer than 31 characters, it will rename those files in the style of your example. I bet the file was named carspeedingdownemptyhighwayandbraking.wav or something like that...
Sadly, the only way to avoid it is to keep filenames shorter than 31 characters.
There have been quite a lot of rants about this. And rightly so. It is a major omission that this restriction from the days of 40MB harddisks is still there.

I can not find audio books on itunes.

Can anyone help me please, I have purchased several Audio Books from itunes and now I want to sync them onto my iphone but i can not find them on itunes.

Sorry, but unless you're willing to pay for them again, you're out of luck unless the iTunes Store is willing to grant you an exception. As RG said, Apple has not been granted a license to allow redownloading of audiobooks. You can contact the iTunes Store here and ask:

but don't be surprised if they say "no", and it may take a couple of days before you get a response at all other than the automated acknowledgement of your submission.

Can not find audio video file

I created a dvd proj. burned it to a disc. all worked very well. I copied the dvd. proj file to an external drive. Now when i access file i get an error message that it can not find two files. C audio and C video files.
Any suggestions?

It created the DVD proj file ok and I could play it through dvd player and burned it to a disc. The problem occurred when I copied and pasted it to an external drive. When I open the dvd proj file on the external drive I get an error message that it can not find the audio and video file. It is looking for the file on the hard drive and not the external drive. i deleted the original dvd proj file on the hard drive.

i bought an audio book a while back and can't find it in my library anymore. how can i get it back in my library?

Logic Can't Find Audio Files After a Time Machine Restore

My hard drive crashed so I was forced to restore by using Time Machine. Now when I open some of my old projects they cannot find certain Audio FIles. These Audio Files seem to be files not ordinarily found in the Audio Files Folder inside the project folder, these files have the same names as the "Undo Data" Folders. These files are not physically there when I search the older backups in Time Machine. Im assuming that these are Virtual files created by Logic within the Undo Data. How do I get them to become recognized again???

"audiofile.caf" means an audio file (surprise!) in Core Audio Format. IOW, a generic term for anything you might like to deal with in Logic. The implication is that it thinks you want to do something with a file (it understands you are attempting a drag-&-drop operation), but it doesn't know anything about the file — not even its name.
There are other ways to get audio files into your arrangement, so you should try those ( e.g.: +Audio > Import Audio File+ ). Drag-&-drop is just one method; the others are equally good, & if they work, we can take it from there. Meanwhile — you are sure you are dragging the actual file, & not an alias? Or some other 'not-the-actual-file' type thing?

Using trial- can't find audio & can't make post roll

I am trying PPro CS5 and have two things I cannot figure out. First I would like to create a video with the following flow:
Title > Transition > Vid Camera shots > transition > Post Roll
I made the title and imported the video. The video has been copied to my hard drive and was shot in AVCHD, which means it is an MTS file. When I double click on the file (outside of PPro) it plays just fine. When I preview it in the source monitor, there is no audio. (1) How do I get the audio? One thing I thought was strange is when opening a new project, there is no choice for AVCHD. So, i assume it is not available in the trial. Is this true? Surely it is in the finished product.
When I try to make the post roll, the title slide pops onto the screen and I cannot get rid of it. When I made the title, I selected "default still" and when I try to create the post roll, I selected "default roll". How can I make this work without automatically getting the title slide?

I see now that there are some things that won't work with the trial. That was my assumption all along.
A post roll is like the credits at the end of a movie. You create some text that scrolls from top to bottom. You can have it start on-screen or off-screen, etc. When I try to use this, my title pops onto the screen and it will not go away. I cannot select with any of the selection tools. It may just be another limitation of the trial, though I didn't recognize it in the list. BTW, I have used this function in CS4, and it works perfectly.

Can't find audio driver for L45-S7423 on XP SP3 platform

I am from Ukraine and my English is no perfect)
I have installed properly chipset driver for GM965 series, sound driver REALTEK High Definition Driver. Also all other drivers was installed. Everything is work perfectly accept sound - no audio deveice is present.

"Can not find Audio or Video"

So I finished a movie on iMovie, and started a new iDVD project with it. After setting up the drop zones and finishing everything up, I previewed the movie and it seemed fine. So I saved the file on my external harddrive and closed it out (because I don't have a DVD burner on my iBook so I have to do it all on my friends Powerbook). When I tried to open it up again, it told me that it was missing the audio link and video link for the movie. I searched my original iMovie project and it found them, but everything now shows up as plain white. There is no sound or video at all.
I am also having a problem where I can't even watch the preview of my movie on iMovie. Everything is still there, but on preview it's all blank. Anybody know what's up with that?

Hi, I encountered the same problem of missing files when I tried to open an archived iDVD project. I do not remember now but I must have changed the name of the file.
Is there anyway I can open and view the project again! I do not have the orginal video clips. I am left only with this project which seemed to contain about 300 mb footage. Guide me on the possibility of opening and playing this project!!!

Garageband can't find audio files for each instrument

Every time I try and load a software instrument I get a message that says the wav or aiff file can't be found. It asks me if I want to search again but it doesn't let me search manually. Where are these files?

Thats weird. I can understand getting that message if you are trying to load a 'blue' audio loop, but not a 'green' software instrument.
The audio loops on my machine are in two places
1. Machintosh HD>Library>Audio>Apple Loops>Apple>Apple Loops for GarageBand AND JamPack 4 Synphony Orchestra.
2. Machintosh HD>Library>Application Support>GarageBand>AppleLoops>JamPack 2 & 3.
If you have not loaded any JamPacks or 3rd party loops and are just using the standard loops that come with GB then option 1 will be where your want to have a look.

Windows Vista can't find audio device

I successfuly installed windows vista Beta 2 on my macBookpro, but I don't have sound. windows says No Audio output device is installed. Any suggestions? Help!

Did you use BootCamp? Paralells? Something else? I
heard that it cannot be installed with any of these...
I used bootCamp, but I had a problem after full installation
( windows vista was complaining about a missing file), then I read in some post that if I deleted the 200 MB partion (that shows up at the begining of the vista istallation) I would be able to dual boot, so I did that. Then after booting a second time and using the recovery option on windows vista. It worked.There is a downside to doing that though( boot camp won't be able to make your hard drive one partion any more).If you want to make your hard drive one partion you would have to use the disk utility and reinstall tiger( may be there is some other solution. Don't know)
Some of the Mac drivers that I burnt using boot camp worked but not all of them, but over all I had no problems after installation ( wireless worked from the first time)
I still don't have the eject button working yet( but I don't really need it)

Audio in QT Movie in Mac, Can't Find Audio in QT Movie on PC

I've got two movies that playback with their embedded MP3 audio that I created.
On a Mac I posted it on an FTP site then downloaded it, double-clicked, and it all played back fine.
But two clients could not play it back *on their PC*, where the prompt said that the mp3 file could not be found within the movie.
Now, on a PC, I have loaded both the .mov file and its separate .mp3 file to my desktop from the FTP. I double click on the movie, and the audio plays fine.
SO QT files with sound don't play embedded sound in the file, but if you extract the sound and downoad them separately (audio.mp3) and (audio.mov), it seeks out the right file and plays it.
On a Mac, when the audio is embedded with cut and paste and saved to the file, it's all there. One movie file, one click, movie starts. Easier, organic, they way it should be. What process is at work separating these audio and video tracks in PC when they play back fine in Mac?

Based on the original problem and the fact that it plays on your original Mac platform and a PC to which you have downloaded all resources, it appears you may have saved the "uploaded" file in the "reference" mode rather than as a "standalone." Check the size of the merged uploaded movie and see if it is just a few KBs in size or check the "Resource" entry in the "Show Movie Properties" window. If the movie does not reference itself in its current stored location, then you will have confirmed that this is your problem. The solution is to then resave the file but select the "Standalone" save option in the process.

Can't find audio book at itunes store

I've downloaded the first 6 Harry Potter books but haven't seen book 7 (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) in the itunes store. Am I missing it or is it not available from the itunes store?

I don't see it and I doubt that they are hiding it, so I would guess that it is not available yet from the itunes store.

Since yesterday my Mac Book Air can not find audio output device anymore

My MBA is now 13 months old. Apple wants to charge me $170 to fix a defect that has over 50,000 users asking Why?
I have read the cable is the problem and have ordered a $29.00 cable to repair the issue. But why would Apple want users to suffer and risk the integrity of the MBA? Why not offer to fix the defect and keep customers happy? Or is this planned obsolescence? I for one am not a happy apple customer.

I could not worry about how long it would take the 5th Ave apple store to fix the defective cable. I spend $29.99 and $19.99 for shipping and replaced the cable. It WORKS. Changing the flex cable was medium hard and I was not sure I got it right until the sound came back.
WHat a shame Apple would not fix this issue. next machine I buy I am getting the apple care extension.

Mini DVI to HDMI with audio. Where can I find it?

I'm looking for a cable adapter (mini DVI to HDMI with audio) to my mac book air (2010). Where can I find it?

DVI and miniDVI only transmit video-signals but no audio-signal.
Regardless of the cable adapter you get (I don't have any recommendation) you always have to make a audio-cable connection between the MBA and the TV.
