Can't find fan header - G62 b29SA

My friend owns an HP G62 laptop. He said that the fan stopped working and I couldn't hear or feel it so I got a new fan and we opened the laptop up. It turned out that the fan I'd bought was not compatible. Later, I tested the fan using a 3 V supply and it worked just fine. I went to plug the fan in and I can't find the header! Could it have been knocked off the motherboard? I don't see it and I don't know how to proceed.

  • Can't find fan???

Hey, sorry for double posting (sort of) since this is also heat related (as is my 'How hot is hot' thread)
but I can't seem to find my fans on my MBP. That is to say I NEVER have heard them turn on, not once, even when the CPU was running at 80C. And I have an iStats Pro widget that doesn't recognize that I have any fans either.
Is there anyway to confirm I do infact have working fans on my machine?
    Thanks for any help guys.

update: okay so I figured out that whatever the /dev/null command does, it makes both CPU cores go full throttle (2.17Ghz) and they heat up pretty quick.
My fans turned on at about 80+ degrees C, but they werent really doing anything. That is to say, it was getting hotter, and not cooling down at all. Which is really odd....Im worried to now to do anything to CPU heavy in hopes of overloading the machine....am I just being really paraniod? I hope so...

  • Elitebook 8570w hot to the touch, can't find fan sensor data

Hi, I am having issues with a HP Elitebook 8570w and its functioning. When using a lot of the cpu the heat builds up to the point that it can get slightly painful to the touch on the left side. This includes the left most keys of the keyboard. The fan itself is nearly silent and there is barely any airflow through the exhaust. But can be heard to be moving. The laptop itself is inclinded and the fan doesn't look blocked when inspected through the service latch. The only physical block I can imagine is with the side exhaust but I can't examine that without taking apart the entire thing. So I am trying to diagnose the situation. However I have not been able to find any way of monitoring the fan speeds and utilisation. (SpeedFan and its ilk appear to be unable to find a fan) Do I need to go into the bios for this? As I'd rather not send it in just for a software issue.  But with temperatures around 90-120 degrees celcius I'd really like to do something about this.

MY suggestion would be to send the unit for service if it is under warranty and get it fixed. If the unit is not under warranty then please check the vents and clean it since i belive it should be blocked . I am a HP Employee. Hello Riverlim,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums, since this is a commercial product. You can click here for the link.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Can't find "insert header" on CS6

Where is the "insert header" on the Insert tab in CS6?  The tutorial (for cS6) says it's "In the Insert panel, click Header (it's the fifth item from the top)".  There is a Head, with several options, but no Header.  I find the terminology in the tutorials does not match what's on the screen in CS6, which creates frequent frustration.

You must be reading an older tutorial for DW CS6 12.0.  In the Cloud versions of CS6 (12.1 or 12.2), you'll find it under Insert > Layout > Header.
In DW CC, I believe it's under Structure.

  • How can I find out this person who has been emailing me every few months. I have one of the emails full header that I retrieved on my iPhone.

How can I find out this person who has been emailing me every few months. I have one of the emails full header that I retrieved on my iPhone. I omitted my email address for privacy, but mostly it is original. Is this email a scam? I don't know who this person is. Thanks in advance!

  • Where can i find header files for DAQ PPC Library

    Hello,
First sorry for my english (I am french so ...)
I try to develope in eVB a PDA application to acquire a signal from a DAQCard-6062E (for PCMCIA), so I download card drivers (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/12704BA4C93584D886256F1E007135AD) but I doesn't find any header files, help files for librarie file (nirplid.dll).
Can you give me some header file (in C or in VB) or maybe a list a functions and parameters of this labrarie.

    Hi,
You will find a list of all functions which can be used in LV PDA applications.
Il vous faut le module LAbVIEW PDA pour avoir accés à ces foncitons(ci-joint le lien). Sino, vous pouvez créer votre propre driver.

  • Can't find where to update SOAP header request on a Web Service

    Hello,
I am consuming a certain Web Service from a remote Server and succefully created a client proxy for it.
This Web Service requires a String parameter (which is the licence key) to be inserted in the SOAP request header. I've searched at the client proxy I created under Virtual Interface, Web Service Definition and under Web Service Configuration but couldn't find an option which allows me to modify the SOAP header request.
    At this link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/a2/99af4e693dee43a0519e029549647b/content.htm
There is an explanation on how to transfer existing request parameters from the SOAP body to the SOAP header, but I want to add the header new parameter except the exsiting parameters the Web Service request expects.
I can of course write the request myself but than I loose the whole wizard advantage...
Can someone please tell me where can I find it?
    Roy

Ralph Landry1, your link just sends them to the links I provided.

  • G62 can't find drivers for USB mouse

For some reason I can't get my wired mouse OP-35D to work with Windows 7. When I plug it in ti the USBslot the PC can identify that its a USB mouse but can't find any drivers. I've downloded drivers from the manufacturers homepage but it's still not working. Tried four different USB mouse both wired and wireless, same result. USB-memorysticks, USB-harddrives are working fine.
    Solution anyone?

Open Device manager and Expand USB Controllers, right click on everything labeled as device or hub and select uninstall, do this one at a time. Once this is done restart the notebook.
Do Not uninstall anything labeled  Controller.

  • Can't find heading on blog page to delete...

Hello, working on a web page for my church. I used one of the "my travel" blog templates for our Pastor's Blog site. However, when you click the RSS button it takes you to the page to subscribe. At the top of that page is still says, "My Travels" I can't find it in IWeb to Delete. Any Suggestions? Here is the link.

The only place I see "my travels" is in a text box on the main blog page in Iweb to the right of the first photo in the template.

  • Screwing down motherboard in HP G62 b29SA - unused holes in motherboard?

I've been fixing a friend's G62 b29SA laptop (just replacing the fan). There was some time between taking it apart and putting it back together (had to get the right fan) so I can't remember whether all the holes in the motherboard had screws in them. In quite a lot the screws just turn and turn - there's no thread behind the motherboard or the screws are too small (but I don't think I have any larger screws (or at least none that aren't from another section (e.g. the battery compartment or whatever). Should all the holes in the motherboard have screws?

    Hi,
No, some of them do not have screws BUT all screws must have holes. Please check the following manual to see all screw locations (check page #79):

  • Can't find 'vgaswitcheroo' (Can't compile asus-switcheroo)

    Hi there!
I'm new to archlinux which I've installed recently on my ASUS UL50VT. It features a now abandoned concept of hybrid graphics which is why I tried to get asus-switcheroo to work. But somehow it won't compile which is why I'd like to kindly ask you what I've done wrong. I'll list what I've done so far:
I've installed both x86-video-intel and x86-video-nouveau package in this order.
I downloaded the latest version of asus-switcheroo with git to /opt:
    git clone https://github.com/awilliam/asus-switcheroo.git /opt/asus-switcheroo
But while compiling as instructed within the README by simply calling make, I get many errors from which I managed to correct some, but not all of them.
    First error
*** No rule to make target 'modules'
This could be fixed by installing linux-headers.
    Second error
    implicit declaration of function DEVICE_ACPI_HANDLE
This could be fixed by replacing all DEVICE_ACPI_HANDLE calls with ACPI_HANDLE since both functions do the same according to this source: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kerne … 14915420ac which I managed by calling
    sed -i 's/DEVICE_ACPI_HANDLE/ACPI_HANDLE/g' /opt/asus-switcheroo/asus-switcheroo.c
    Third error
/opt/asus-switcheroo/asus-switcheroo.c:326:3: error: too few arguments to function vga_switcheroo_register_client
    vga_switcheroo_register_client(discrete dev,
    ^
    include/linux/vga_switcheroo.h:47:5: note: declared here
    int vga_switcheroo_register_client(struct pci_dev *dev,
I have no idea what's wrong here. Maybe vga_switcheroo.h was updated and thus asus-switcheroo won't work? I can't find any vga_switcheroo.h file in my /usr/include/linux/ directory, maybe it's just missing?
I'd be grateful for any answer!
    Best regards,
    Tomatopaste

    Hi Lone_Wolf,
here are the requested logs. I hadn't installed a desktop environment until now, so here you'll get the first Xorg log from my machine.
I somehow saw a warning that the 'aic94xx firmware' is missing, but I don't know how to reproduce this message and how it is involved with this topic (if at least).

  • Z77 mpower cpu fan header "control" no longer working

CPU fan header now only works with 3 pin fans, 4 pin fans turn off when placed on header, do not turn on. I had been running a hub off of that port to a switch 8 port fan hub controlling all case fans and a pump. cable to header  only had sensor and control, power was through molex, pump which was master only had same.  I had hot swapping on, had added a HDD reported bad by raid in another tower in a hotswap drive tray (hot swap on in bios)  was going to check it out in seatools. tower crashed on add. rebooted, when running seatools noticed temps way out of line 70-90c normal temps even under load 60c or less. noticed tower was quite, noticed no fans turning.  booted to BIOS checked reported no RPM fans not spinning in health changed options, did not help thought hub may have died.  powered down unplugged and plugged pump into cpu header. power back up fans running, but still high temps cpu header shows 0 rpm. shut down move pump to sysfan 1, reboot powers up pump on temps good. pump running at 100%  speed had never seen it running like that on sysfan 1 even when told to. reboot try 4 pin fan in cpu tries to spin for jet a sec then nothing. reboot try 3 pin, fan powers up spins shows in pc health.  reset to default, tried 4 pin no good, switched to older bios, rebooted no good, reset cmos no good…. any ideas forum wizards? I would really like to regain control so i can throttle fans/pump.
note bad HDD was pulled before swapping headers….

    1) I find it strange it does not effect the other 4 pin headers do they just not use the control line despite it being there?
    2) i do find it odd that prior to this running the pump directly on sysfan2 i could never get it to go to 100% only 50%, since this happened it stays at 100% on sysfan2
    1) CPU_Fan has its own circuit.
    http://www.swiftech.com/8-WayPWMsplitter.aspx
We generally recommend to use the “CPU_Fan” connector of the motherboard, because most motherboard manufacturers usually allow a greater range of adjustments on this particular connector.
    2) probably the Voltage Contol is damaged too (if they get the max voltage (12V), they stay at 100%).

Where does one set space after paragraph in the new Pages 5.0? It used to be under text in the Inspector in the previous version, but I just can't find it in this new version. Paragraphs seem to only be dealt with in styles, and the Formatting window for text doesn't seem to have the space after paragraph contrtol that the older Inspector had. What am I missing?

Sorry I did this without looking:
