Can't find imported loops in my loop browser.

I upgraded my PowerPC G5 to Leopard and did a fresh install of Logic Pro 8 and I have been trying to import loops I had in the old install (I kept then in a back up drive) but even the loop browser shows that is importing the loops they cannot be found nor I can see the folders in my Library at all. What is happening here?

Found the answer for you today as I was looking for the answer myself. If you go to the menu you will see a option to "Show menu bar". Click this to get a few functions to show up. Click on file and in the drop down menu you will find "Library". Hover over that to get the import option to show up! Hope this helps!

Ensure that you have not selected "My Computer" in the sources tab (on the extreme left). If this is selected then only Up and New are available. Select PC Music Library and the Import and Export buttons should appear across the top.

You cannot drag the effects themselves to the timeline. You add them to a clip in the Viewer, just as you have done.
If the clip was already in the timeline when you opened it in the Viewer (by double-clicking it in the timeline to open it in the Viewer) and then added the reverb effect, there is nothing further to do, you have added the effect to the clip. You don't drag it back to the timeline.
You only have to drag the clip to the timeline if the clip was not already in the timeline (for example, if you opened the clip from the FCE Browser; or set different In and Out points in a master clip to use a different portion of the master clip in a different location in your timeline).
Depending on the effect you add, you may have to render the timeline after adding the effect. But I don't think reverb requires immediate rendering. One other note, you said you were working with an audio clip ... audio clips need to be AIFF (not MP3 or something else) and preferably 16-bit stereo.

Can't find my loop in the broser

I imported a whole guiro track in the loop browser and I can't recall it in the browser, I can't find it.
1) The little search on top right of the browser doesn't let me type in it.
2) Is the file too long, I imported into the browser before and the files are there, what happened this time. I tried cutting just one bar and bouncing it to create a short loop and can't find it after importing it, I didn't get any error messages either.

Pages ’09 will not let you delete templates from within the Application. Although you can highlight the template in the Template chooser, the delete or backspace keys, or other key combinations are not recognized.
By default, any template that you save in Pages ’09 will reside in your original post Library destination within My Templates. I have a Journals folder as a peer to My Templates, and both appear in the Template Chooser. Technically, it is possible to save a template to iCloud from Pages ’09, but the Template chooser won't see it.
The path that I provided into your Library/Containers/.... is navigable with the Finder. When you get to the com.apple.iWork.Pages folder, right click on it, and choose Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Then continue clicking through the folders as I revealed earlier.

Can Not Find Apple Loops files that came with Logic 7

I recently reinstalled my system and upgraded to leopard but am still running Logic 7.
My problem is that all of the apple loops that came with the application are no longer accessable for some reason.
I can view all of the loops in the loop browser, but any time I click on one to preview, it comes up with this error message: "Club Dance Beat 038.caf" - what kind of file is this?" It seems like all of the files are .caf.
When I search my system to try and find the loops, I cant find any loops that seem to go with logic. There are apple loops for garage band and soundtrack pro but not logic.
Can anyone help me in accessing my apple loops for logic? Shouldnt these things just come with the application when I install it? That does not seem to be the case here for whatever reason.

Your "problem" is that you now own the Garageband Loops, which are in the new .caf format.
Your version of Logic cannot open these files.
These .caf files were introduced with Logic 8. You would do good to upgrade Logic, if you really need to use those files.

Can't find a loop i want to delete

I created a loop that i now want to delete. The loop shows up in GB but i can't find it in the loops folder or anywhere on the HD in order to trash it. Shouldn't all created loops appear in the GB loops folder?

it's not stored there, it's in a similar location within your home directory (note: deleting it that way is not a good idea)

Had to reinstall OS, and now GB can't find my loops

I had a problem that forced me to reinstall my OS (Tiger 10.4.10), and now GarageBand can't find my Apple Loops although they are clearly there in the root Library in the Audio folder. What can I do to get it to "see" them? I have dropped them on to the Loop Browser and it looks like it's reindexing, but nothing shows up int he Loop Browser window. Help!

Can't find imported ringtones on phone

I give up. I don't know what else to try. HELP
I made a couple of ringtones with mymxr (converted mp3 to m4r). I got the ringtones to show up in the "tones" section of iTunes (although at one point one of them appeared in the "movies" section). ITunes seems to sync ok but I can't find these ringtones listed with the tones that came with the phone (iPhone 5s). I'm a newbie at all of this apple stuff and while I've read of others trying to do something similar nothing I've tried over the last three days has worked.
I believe it's possible to convert some of my favorite tones from my Blackberry to the iPhone but I'm not having any luck accomplishing this. Any insight as to how to make this happen would be gratefully received.

Highlight the file in iTunes and open "get info" by cmd+click or right click>>get info.
Make sure that the extension of the file is .m4r
Since you are not able to drag it out of iTunes on your desktop, it tells me that the extension could be something else other than what it should be i.e. .m4r. Also, hence, when you try to add it to your iPhone the file is being treated as a music file thereby trying to replace what you have in your music section of your iPhone.
If the file extension is not .m4r, this is what you need to do -
1. Locate the file on your macintosh hard drive for this -
2. Click your finder>>music>>iTunes>>iTunes music and then look for a folder called Unknown.
Note - If your iTunes library is not "clean" with random songs without artists, albums, etc. you might have more than one folders by name "Unknown" or some variant of it. So look around and locate the file on the hard drive.
3. Drag it out on your desktop
4. Right click and change the extension to .m4r
5. Save and double click so that it gets imported back into iTunes and starts playing too on your mac
6. You will find it under Ringtones. Sync in back on your iPhone.
Hopefully it will go well for you this time around.

System can't find apple loops (accidentally pressed Re-index button)

Hi, I installed some new loops lately but because the installation was not successful, when i tried to listen to one of the loops (which was not properly installed) an option came up asking me if i wanted to re-index my loops. I accidentally pressed it, but when system prompted me for my password to continue, i clicked cancelled.
Now, when i next startup Logic Express a window pops up saying There are No Apple Loops installed on your system, please re-install the apple loop package.
What should I do now?
Please help. I am feeling so exasperated

Thanks so much for your prompt response. This is really bizarre.. now when i open Logic Express, I see some loops in there and the msg that appeared earlier (that no loops are found) no longer shows.
I havent done anything since my last post so i do not know why the situation changed on my lapto.
However I do notice some loops are missing.. when i look into HardDisk -> Library --> Apple --> Apple Loops, i noticed my Jam Pack Rhythm Folder is no longer there.. yet, when i play projects which utilize loops from Jam Pack Rhythm, they play ok, which makes me wonder if the folder has simply gone somewhere, or i have to reinstall them.

Can't find imported iphone photos in iPhoto

I phone pictures have been uploaded to iphoto on several occasions and they can not be found in the iphoto app.

what version of iPhoto and of the OS? Do they show in last import? How are you importing them (MyPhotoSream? USB sync? iTunes sync? Image Capture?)

Can't find imported files after crash

I'm using FCPX with a Macbook Pro 15" (2.8 GHz Intel Core i7). I've been importing old video on mini DV media for the past few weeks. Today FCP crashed during import. None of the material was in the project after reopening. So I imported again. Same thing happened. After a 3rd attempt to import failed, I noticed that my hard drive space was significantly reduced. I assume the imported material is on my hard drive, but I can't locate it. Does anyone have an idea where it might be found?

I downloaded a set called Golden styles from the exchange but I'm a novice and don't know how to access it in PSE 10 on a Mac.

Thanks so much Barbara I followed your excellent instructions and voilà. Now just to check. I put the file mediaDatabase.db3 in the trash but haven't emptied the trash till I check that this file's deletion won't effect PSE10 as a whole. Also not sure what you mean by don't start using it tilll the thumbnails reappear in the panels. After I restarted PSE it ook quite some time for "building content and effects". When this was finished I checked the effects drop down and there they were. Is this al i need to do?
