Can't find JAVA preferences in Finder

For a Realtor program I want to use it tells me to go to Finder-GO-Utilities-JAVA preferences. I am then supposed to change a prefence. The problem is I can'f find it under Utilities. Can anyone help me?

MadMAC0 posted at https://discussions.apple.com/message/20107182?ac_cid=tw123456#20107182 that:
Apple has posted (10/22/12) the approved solution for restoring the Java 6 plug-in:
Java for OS X 2012-006: How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 applet plug-in and Web Start functionality.

  • I can't open java preferences.

    I have a mac os x 10.6.8. I'm having this problem: I can't open java preferences. I get this message: it's not available any compatible version of java 1.5. What should I do?

    Run a software update and see if there are any updated versions of Java available for download.

  • Can't remove Java preference pane

    I recently deleted Java from my Mac (Yosemite) following Oracle's instructions. I can't get the Java preference pane deleted however. When I try I get this: "The “JavaControlPanel” preferences pane could not be removed because an error occurred."
    Any help is appreciated.

    Click on the Finder icon.
    Press cmd-shift-G. This opens the "Go to Folder" panel.
    Type
    /Library/PreferencePanes
    then click the Go button.
    Trash the icon

  • Can't open Java preferences

    Hi, first thing I should say is that I'm new to the world of Mac and not very technologically minded!
    From some time last week my Macbook (Mac OS X 10.6.3) stopped being able to access Facebook and Youtube. Today I searched online and after reading some information, decided to install software updates hoping this would help. Now I'm unable to access Facebook, Youtube or use Vuze. When I try to use Vuze it says I can't open it because there is no Java runtime on my computer. If I go Applications - Utilities, I can see Java Preferences but it does nothing when I try to open it.
    Any help is very much appreciated and needed as I have a video I need to upload to Youtube as part of my college work.
    Thanks,
    Fiona

    The Java update might cure this.  Do try it.
    I would encourage getting a second external disk and creating a full-disk backup using Disk Utility or analogous in general.  For what I'm going to suggest here, I'd prefer to have at least two external backups, to avoid data loss, and Time Machine restorations can sometimes be wonky.
    The suggestions?  Three-fold.  The first potential solution here is going to involve the download and reinstallation of a Mac OS X combo patch kit (the combo kit, and not the delta kit), then load the Java update and other kits.  (Have a backup.)
    Second, booting and installing a fresh copy of Mac OS X over the top of your existing disk, and that involves the need for a Mac OS X client installation DVD disk.  Then updating the new installation on the internal disk to current.  (And I'd prefer to have backups here, to avoid data loss.)
    The third and most involved suggestion is the nuke-and-pave reinstallation over the top of what you have here.  The use of one of your external backup disk image copies as a migration source, and booting and using the distribution DVD to wipe the existing internal disk, and then perform the import from the external copy.
    And do get yourself a copy of the Snow Leopard DVD.
    Computers fail, and installation disks and backups are your path back to operation.

  • How can i find java preferences on MAC 10.8.2

    I recently upgraded to the new Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.2 but I can't find Java preferences anymore. I need to go onto an online banking page but it needs me to adjust some settings through Java Preferences, kindly please inform where can I get to the Java Preferences page?

    The last Java update disabled Java plug-in and removed Java Preferences.app from your Utilities folder.
    You can re-enable Java by follwing this support article
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559
    Or, you can update to Oracle's Java 7 here

  • I need to apply for a job but I'm told I need to enable cookies and java script, how do I do that?  I can't find it in system preferences

    I need to apply for a job but I'm told I need to enable cookies and java script, how do I do that?  I can't find it in system preferences
    I just updated to the new operating system which i'm starting to think was a bad idea, because it reset all my settings and I don't know how to fix them.

    so when I go to safari>preferences>security>uncheck box labled enable java script  links on webpages don't work and pictures and links son't want to appear on websites.  this made it so webpages don't want to work past loading the content in text format.  I have to check enable java script to go the webpages to work right so images and links work again but when I try to apply for this job the error message pops up saying I need to enable cookies and java script.
    SO I GUESS MY QUESTION IS IF JAVA SCRIPT IS ALREADY ENABLED HOW TO I ENABLE COOKIES?

  • How can I find my custom panel in CS5 using java script

    -I made an empty panel using Adobe Configurator 2 and then exported it to /Panels folder.
    -My custom panel is now in photoshop and works.
    -I added a simple code to onPanelInit():
    function onPanelInit()
        var myWindow = new Window ("dialog");
        var myMessage = myWindow.add ("statictext");
        myMessage.text = "Hello, world!";
        myWindow.show ( );
    so far so good.
    Now instead of creating a new window like I did above, I want to use the new custom panel and add a text to it.
    The problem is, how do I do that in java? Where can I find the panel that I should assign the text to?
    I know that you can add the text in Configurator, or you can edit the .xml file and add the button there, but my
    plan is to create a panel where i can add and remove buttons dynamically and that's why I have to do that in java.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Petri J

    Use Runtime.exec() to run a OS specific command which retrieves OS specific info.
    Or use JNI to access a OS specific API which returns the info you want.

  • Can't find my Photoshop preferences file

    I KNOW this is stupid, but on Windows 7, 64-bit, with all the stuff turned on to show me hidden files and system files and everything, Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1?), and Lightroom 4.3
    I'm trying to follow the advice that everything I do in Photoshop should be backed up somewhere other than as part of Photoshop, I periodically move all the stuff in
    the Users/<me>/AppData/Roaming/Adobe...  folders to a backup drive...  And, by and large, I can find and figure out what stuff is.
    But, I can't find my preferences file.  I went to the Adobe help, and it says:
    General settings
    Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs.psp (32-bit version)
    Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs.psp (64-bit version)
    Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings
    I don't have ANYTHING called "Prefs.psp" in the Users stuff.  As near as I can tell, I don't have anything called Prefs.psp ANYWHERE on the disk..
    Do I get to pick where this file gets put?  Could I have put it somewhere ELSE?  Or, is it actually named something else?
    I wouldn't be much concerned about his, but my latest stupid human trick (we won't go into that please) has convinced me I should do a better job of making sure I can restore Photoshop and Lightroom in the event of a "small error in judgement"

    Thanks Noel.  It's nice to know that at least THIS time, I'm not crazy..........
    As far as backups, I've got a good setup, EXCEPT for the system backup...  I'm using Syncback to back up everything but the O/S, and I've recently added a backup that takes everything from the system except the Windows folder tree...  So, every night at 1 a.m. everything gets backed up to internal backup drives and a large external backup drive.
    What I'll do is add an (hopefully) automated Windows Backup to the other backups.  Given the appallingly stupid things I periodically do I figure I need suspenders and a belt.

    This can happen after modifying the calendar properties and not reloading the application. Try reloading or restarting the application. This could also mean the Calendar.properties file has been moved, deleted, or become corrupted. A default properties file can be found at:

    Hi Vijay,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
    I have gone through the notes 1535201  & now on 1606563  after your advise.
    Both the notes says the fix is available on 7.01 after SP 07 and we are on SP 14 already.
    Also just in case I did checked with our basis and they confirmed we are a head and we have the above notes in our release already.
    Unfortunately the notes are not the solution to the investigation till date.
    Thanks,
    Sai

  • Java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: ocijdbc9.dll: Can't find dependent librarie

    Hi all,
    I have written a simple code to connect to Oracle9i in WindowsXP.
    Oracle is installed and running on Linux machne on the Intranet.
    I have set 'classes12.jar' in classpath and placed following dlls in "C:\WINDOWS\system32" path
    ocijdbc9.dll
    ocijdbc9_g.dll
    heteroxa9.dll
    heteroxa9_g.dll
    Following is the part of code:
    public String dbName = new String("jdbc:oracle:oci8:username/password@sid_192.168.0.128");
    public String dbClassName = new String("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    Class.forName(dbClassName);
    conection = DriverManager.getConnection(dbName);
    statement = conection.createStatement();
    When I run this code got following errors:

    Please guide me, what I am missing? Thanks in advance...

    There are only a very very few and rare good reasons to use the oci8 driver with Java (and I can't remember any of them at the moment). Performance is not one of them. If at all possible, you should use the Type IV (thin) driver instead.
    The classes12.jar (or zip) is for use with Java 1.2 and 1.3. There are different versions of this jar for each version of the database, but they're fundamentally cross-compatible; all the post-8i drivers are supposed to work with all the post-8i databases (and the 8i stuff also mostly works too). There's been a succession of bug fixes and minor functional changes, as well as some very substantial perfromance improvements. If you are developing brand-new code, I very stongly encourage you to use the very latest driver (currently 10.2.0.1, I think). If you are using a Java version greater than 1.3, then you should use the ojdbc14.jar instead (and don't try to use both classes12.jar and ojdbc14.jar, they have the sameclasses in them). I think the 10.2.0.1 ojdb14.jar was the first one certified for Java 1.5, and it's significantly faster than the 9i drivers. Anyone considering an upgrade of drivers should plan to do a good regression test; as mentioned before, there are some very small functional differences. You can download the latest drivers here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
    If you insist on using oci, then you probably need to do an Oracle client installation on your Windows box. If you stay with the 9i driver, the full client install is huge; however, you can almost certainly use the 10g "Instant Client", which is a pared-down version, with just the minimal stuff to support an application. That's available here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/oci/instantclient/instantclient.html

  • Java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError.Can't find dependent libraries

    Hello,
    I call in an applet a library "ezmodJava.dll" in order to execute a native method. It works very well in my computer (Windows 98). I've put "ezmodJava.dll" and a dependent library "ezmod.dll" in directory C:\Windows. That works very well.
    Now , i try to run the applet in a station(Windows XP) (in a network). I've installed the libraries "ezmodJava.dll" and "ezmod.dll" in C:\windows, but it doesn't work. I've put them in C:\windows\system and in C:\windows\system32 but no way. The last error i had IS :

    on your computer you might have multiple copies of the dll. try temporarily renaming the dll...then run the program. if it runs, you know you have another copy somewhere. do a search and find the extra copy...rename it and run your program. your program should fail then and you will find which directory your program is looking in for the dll.
