Can't find movie I rented

I just upgraded my apple tv software last night. I started watching a movie and wanted to finish it today. However I exited out of the movie to show a friend my photo stream. Then I went back to play the movie. Apple TV doesn't give me an option to continue watching the movie. Normally in the pervious AppleTV IOS you would see the movies you have currently rented over to the left  but that's no longer the case. I tired re-renting the movie to see if it would just let me continue where I left off, didn't work either. I'm provided with a message when I try to re-rent it "You have already rented this item but it hasn't been downloaded. To download it, go ti the Settings menu, select Downloads, then Check for Downloads" When I go to settings I don't see an option for downloads. Also I did try going to settings and my iTunes account and selcting Check Rented Movies but the circle icon
What do I do?

    Hi!
I hope someone can help me out,
I rented a movie for the first time last night on the Itunes Store.
I'm on a different computer now and I wanted to watch it again, But I can't find it!
I decided to search for the movie on the Itunes Store and went it came up it gave me the options of either Renting it again or Buying it, but I still have three hours to watch it until the 24 hour thing expires.
Am I not finding the movie because its only on the laptop I rented it from last night?

How to find movie I rented and downloaded to play on my MacBook Pro?

If you rented it on your Mac's iTunes then it should have downloaded into the Movies part of your iTunes library - if you select that, then is there a 'rentals' tab on it with the film in it ?

    Paul -
I'm sorry you've lost files, but when you set up an account as Guest, there's a message that clearly states "When a guest user logs out, all information and files in the guest account's home folder are deleted". If you want an account where files are retained, you should create an Admin or Standard type.
You will need to use data recovery techniques to see if your file can be recovered. The more that you use your computer, the greater the risk that the file will be overwritten. You can contact a professional data recovery service such as DriveSavers (which will be expensive, but you can judge the value of the file) or try something like Data Rescue. The latter has a demo which you can install to determine if your file can be recovered, and then, on purchase, you can actually recover the file.
    Good luck!

  • Can't find Movies

When i go onto i tunes UK site version 7 there is no heading for movies in the i tunes store, however when i look on the US site there is a section for movies. The US site will not let me purchase anything as my account is for UK store only. Where can i find movies on the UK site or how can i purchase on the US site ??

Movies are only available in the US at present and unless you can show some form of residency there you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.
I believe the plan for the Movies is to roll them out to other stores in 2007. However whether or even if the UK store gets them in 2007 will depend on the negotiations with the film distributors for the region.

  • I can't find movies I have rented

How do I find movies that I have rented?  The only ones that appear are the ones I have purchased

    Hi Sophie1955,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Rented movies should appear in the Movies section of your iTunes library.  If you don't see a Movies section, check your iTunes > Preferences.  Here is some additional information for you:
iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1657
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you don't watch your rented movie, it will expire in 30 days and disappear from your iTunes library. You will need to rent it again in order to watch it.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Can not see movies I rented on my iPad

I rented movies from iTunes store and they say they are moved to my iPad, but they don't appear on my ipad. . I can see them on my computer as being on my iPad. Can anyone help.

    Hello arctichawk4,
If I'm understanding your question ... you rented a movie from the iTunes Store, downloaded it to your Mac, and then moved it to your iPad, is that correct?
The movie should be in the Video app on your iPad if it was moved correctly.  Take a look at the resource below.  I've highlighted the key information here for you.  Click on the article for complete details.
About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-is/HT201611
    Watch rented movies
Watch movies on the following devices:
    A Mac or PC.
An iPhone, iPad, iPod touch (with iOS 3.1.3 or later).
An iPod classic or iPod nano (3rd, 4th, or 5th generation).
    A TV through Apple TV.
Find your movie on the device you used to rent it.
On a Mac or PC: Go to the Rentals tab in the Movies section of the iTunes Library.
On an iOS device: Go to the Rental tab of the Videos app.
Using Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation): Look in the top shelf of the main menu.
If you rented the movie on your computer, but want to watch it on an iOS device, connect the devices and sync using USB. When you move a rented movie from your computer, it will disappear from your computer’s iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as often as you want, but you can only have it on one device at a time.
    Hope that helps ...
    - Judy

  • Can't find movie rental

I rented a movie on my laptop, thought it finished downloading (the last I saw the status, it was 'Processing Download') and now I can not find it anywhere, except in my windows back up files.  I've tired adding that file to my library but it doesn't work.  I've tired finding it in my recent purchases AND checking for available downloads but nothing comes up.  I've found the history of the purchase on my Account information on itunes and reported a problem but I don't have a solution. I would like to transfer the movie onto my ipad.  Any thoughts!?

This worked for me too! Thank you!  What bugs me though is it not appearing in the downloaded section where it should be.  I know now how to find it.  Thanks

  • HT2729 I can't find movie rentals on my iPad, even though in iTunes it says they are on my iPad.  Not in Videos, of course.

I rented movies from iTunes and although it says they were transferred on to my iPad, I can't find these movies anywhere!  And yes, I did look in Videos and also searched them on the search screen.

You dont just sync rental movies to the iPad - you "Move" them in the movies tab of iTunes while the iPad is connected, iTunes is running and with the iPad selected on the left side under devices and then you sync. You must be connected to the Internet as well in order for the movies to move to the iPad.
Therefore you can't auto sync movie rentals from iTunes to the iPad. Do you auto sync?
I found this from another discussion.

  • Can't find movie rentals on my iPad

We rented 6 movies through iTunes on my son's pc and they look like they are on his iPad when we look at it through the iTunes on his PC but when we go and look on the actual iPad, we can't see them anywhere.
    Am I missing something here?
    Marcus

I think somehow what I'm trying to say is getting jumbled up from my head to the keyboard lol
For some reason he had to plug his iPad into his computer and power up iTunes in order to be able to rent the movies - he chose HD
When iTunes is open on his deksktop and the device "Jacob's iPad" is selected we can see the movies on his iPad like you showed in the first example you showed via the 8:25pm response.
If we disconnect the iPad from the desktop we can't find any of the movies on it - not using the Video app or through the iTunes app on the iPad.
We've basically deleted almost everything off the iPad in order to have enough room (32GB iPad) so that isn't the issue - we just can't find the darn things on the actual iPad.
I'm tempted to just reset the unit to factory settings and start from scratch but worry I'll lose the movies he has already rented and paid for via a credit given to him by his mom.

  • How can I find movies with subtitles from iTunes for iPad?

    The problems are two:
    1) Using an iPad, can I find subtitled only movies? If were possible, how?
    2) Ever with an iPad, it's possible setting on/off subtitles in movie? If were possible, how?
    Thanks,
    Cristiano.

You turn it on by going to settings-video-closed captioning=on.
If a video has captioning, should have the closed captioning symbol on the video description screen in iTunes store.
You can get software to add captions to your own videos.
    Handbrake:
HandBrake can now include subtitle tracks that can be turned on and off, instead of rendering them onto the video track permanently (which also reduces video compression). This means you can include Closed Captioning data from DVDs and TV broadcasts, or find SRT text subtitle files on the 'net and include them. When using the Matroska container, you can also store the graphical subtitle images (VobSubs) from a DVD as a separate track. An added benefit is that multiple subtitle tracks can be included in the same output video.
