Can't find my previously purchased ringtones from itunes??

I have the new 3gs iphone and after I synced it to itunes I wanted to set my purchased ringtones but they are not on itunes any more@! Where did they go?? HELP!!

Ringtones (and audiobooks) are currently a one-time only download from the store, so they won't appear in the Purchased link for re-downloading. You cannot purchase shows through the ATV2 as you could with the original ATV. But you can still purchase them on your computer and watch them through the ATV2. All of my old content (except HD movie extras) works on the new ATV and well as the old ATV.

I bought a movie off the iTunes Store about 2 years ago and my computer had to be wiped and reset again. I obviously have the same Apple ID and everything and I wanted to have the movie on my phone, and i was quite willing to pay for it again, when it told me that I can just download it as I have already purchased this item.
So I thought, okay, I'll go into my purchased items and download it free from there instead! But when I looked in my purchased items it wasn't there and I am wondering where it is?

Welcome to the Apple community.
Not all movie studios have signed up to the re-download deal with Apple, it's possible that your movie is from one of these studios. It's also possible that the movie is no longer for sale in the iTunes Store.

Go to the Store menu item on the menu bar, and choose Authorize This Computer, as shown below.
If by any chance you don't see the menu bar (File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help), first enable it by using CTRL+B.

Purchased ringtones from iTunes store not in "Ringtones" Library

I purchased three ringtones from the iTunes store, from the Ringtones list. Now they appear in my "Music" and "Purchased" categories in iTunes, but not in Ringtones. They do not sync with my 3G iPhone. There is nothing in the Ringtones list when I try to sync. I called technical support and the guy said to change the file extension of each of the ringtones from "M4a" to "M4r", using Finder on my Mac. But that didn't do anything either. When I select the ringtone in Music, right click and try the "create ringtone" option, it asks me if I want to buy it - which, obviously, I don't since I already bought it. I use the US iTunes site.

To purchase a ringtone for the iPhone takes a few steps.
1. Find a song that is available as a ringtone. If you previously purchased it from iTunes as a song, you can skip directly to creating a ringtone if the distribution rights holder for the song has licensed it for being made into a ringtone. The song will have a bell next to it in your iTunes Library. If you need to purchase the song, purchase it from iTunes for 99 cents.
2. Select the song in the library, and choose create ringtone. You will then get to select the portion of the song you want as a ringtone (up to 30 seconds) to use as a ringtone when they do charge you more.
3. Purchase the ringtone for 99 cents for a total of $1.98, which is less than many cellular networks charge for a ringtone, and you don't get to choose the portion of the song you want to use.
It sounds like you purchased a song with a bell next to it, and haven't created the ringtone yet.

Have you tried checking specifically in Movies > Purchased or TV Shows > Purchased on the Apple TV?
Play previous purchases on Apple TV
You need Apple TV (2nd generation or later) to play content on Apple TV. Some features require the latest version of Apple TV software. If they're available in 1080p, you can play previously-purchased 720p HD TV shows and movies in 1080p.
Movies and TV shows
On the Apple TV main menu, choose Movies > Purchased or TV Shows > Purchased.
Select the item you want to view.
Choose Play.

If you are looking there and not seeing the episodes, I recommend verifying that you are signed in with the same Apple ID on the Apple TV that you are signed in with on your iPhone.

When I'm signed into Itunes and attempt to download from the cloud a text box pops up saying "I need to authorize the computer before I can download previous purchases". I'm using the same computer that I purchased all previous songs. So how do I authorize my computer?

If you're using iTunes 11 click on the box icon in the top-left corner to see the " Show Menu Bar "
and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
(In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.

When you download something from the iCloud, it is a brand new licensed copy. Your iCloud account just contains a notation that you have this app. It isn't storing an actual copy of the app from your Mac.
