Can't find my ringtones

Help,
I had to change out my iPhone but downloaded all my data from iCloud and laptop, but have lost previously purchased ringtones. What am I doing wrong?
thanks,
PLW

I read where there is a bug in 8.1.1 with ringtones.  Suggest you wait for an update.

  • Can't find imported ringtones on phone

I give up.  I don't know what else to try.  HELP
I made a couple of ringtones with mymxr (converted mp3 to m4r).  I got the ringtones to show up in the "tones" section of iTunes (although at one point one of them appeared in the "movies" section).  ITunes seems to sync ok but I can't find these ringtones listed with the tones that came with the phone (iPhone 5s).  I'm a newbie at all of this apple stuff and while I've read of others trying to do something similar nothing I've tried over the last three days has worked.
I believe it's possible to convert some of my favorite tones from my Blackberry to the iPhone but I'm not having any luck accomplishing this.  Any insight as to how to make this happen would be gratefully received.

It IS in my itunes as a ringtone but will not sync to phone. I cannot drag and drop either but can with songs.
When I click on the phone device in itunes and get the tabs on the top, I go to ringtones. If I check the sync ringtones box a window opens stating that if I do sync ringtones all of my music and videos on the phone will be removed. Why is this? I did it with my wife's phone because she only had a couple songs on hers but I do not want to wipe all of my songs off. Is this the only way? I don't even need the ringtone on my phone but I am trying to figure out what to do so i can do it on my wife's phone.
Highlight the file in iTunes and open "get info" by cmd+click or right click>>get info.
Make sure that the extension of the file is .m4r
Since you are not able to drag it out of iTunes on your desktop, it tells me that the extension could be something else other than what it should be i.e. .m4r. Also, hence, when you try to add it to your iPhone the file is being treated as a music file thereby trying to replace what you have in your music section of your iPhone.
If the file extension is not .m4r, this is what you need to do -
    1. Locate the file on your macintosh hard drive for this -
    2. Click your finder>>music>>iTunes>>iTunes music and then look for a folder called Unknown.
Note - If your iTunes library is not "clean" with random songs without artists, albums, etc. you might have more than one folders by name "Unknown" or some variant of it. So look around and locate the file on the hard drive.
    3. Drag it out on your desktop
    4. Right click and change the extension to .m4r
    5. Save and double click so that it gets imported back into iTunes and starts playing too on your mac
    6. You will find it under Ringtones. Sync in back on your iPhone.
Hopefully it will go well for you this time around.

  • Where can I find a ringtone I paid for but it is not appearing in my itunes account

where can I find I ringtone I purchased but it is not appearing in my ringtones on my phone?

Select Ringtones under Library left side of the iTunes window. If you see the Ringtone there, connect the iPhone to your computer,
select the iPhone under Devices on the left then select the Ringtones tab then click Sync.

  • HT1725 can't find a ringtone I purchased on my iphone?

I purchased a ringtone on my phone. I had to update some info.  Apple sent me a message confirming I am the correct person and now I can't find my ringtone.

Playlists only exist as part of the larger iTunes library listing so if you are not seeing it there it doesn't exist anywhere else.  I know with my older version of iTunes it is very easy to accidentally delete a playlist.  With newer versions it may be possible to recover it with the undo feature in the menu but this likely will only work immediately after the deletion.

  • I can't find my ringtones on my iphone

i add my ringtone file to itune, under library and then sync to my 4gs.
but i can't find those files under setting on my phone
how do i solve this problem

If you have added the ringtone file correctly to iTunes, it will appear under iTunes 'Tones' library.
If you don't find Tones library in iTunes, go to iTunes menu EDIT/PRFERENCES under GENERAL tab, check the Tones Box under Library source to display Tones library in iTunes.
iTunes accepts only m4r file as ringtone and has to be less than 40secs.

i purchase some beatles ringtones earier this year and just purchase a new iphone 5 trying to get these ringtones on the new phone but can't find them. they are in my history of purchase.

Ringtones (and audiobooks) are currently a one-time only download from the store. If you don't have them on your computer and/or on a backup then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • HT203167 Can't find my ringtone after having my iPhone restored to factory settings

I had a problem switching my Fone bk on after a software update and had to take my Fone to the apple shop to fix! They had to restore factory settings! I have managed to get my iTunes but cannot find my ringtone I purchased! Any help would b gr8!

If you have synced to iTunes before, check under TONES library in itunes and see if those ringtones are there.  If so, sync them over.
If not, you cannot re-download for free as Ringtones are not treated with fair use rules like music.

  • How can I find my ringtones that I bought on my IPhone

I had bought some ringtones for my IPhone 4S from the acutal IPhone itself. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was forced to restore the IPhone without backing things up because they would take forever to back up and I needed it fully restored. How can I get the ringtones back without having to pay for them again?

Assuming there is no backup your choices are limited, you can transfer purchased music from your iPod back to the new computer, or if you are in the USA you can redownload your purchases in iTunes.

  • Can't find custom ringtone on phone!

    Hello,
I created a ringtone in Garageband, "shared" it as a ringtone to itunes, synced to phone, see this ringtone under "ringtones" on the iphone in itunes when the phone is connected, but cannot find it or use it on the actual phone.
I have tried several times by re-syncing but no luck. All I see are the original ringtones that came with the phone.
    Help please
    Thx
    Jim

  • HT203167 I can't find the ringtones I've purchased in the past.

I have purchased several ringtones since 2011. However, I have not been able to get them on iPhone I purchased last year. I have all of my receipts for my purchases. Does anyone have an answer for this?

Ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them. Do you have copies of them in the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library so that you can sync them to your phone ?

  • Can't find any ringtone in iTunes Stores!!!

Is there a hidden section? I can't see any tunes with a bell displayed next to it... or did I get it wrong: do you need to purchase a song and THEN the bell becomes available (not very Apple like!!!).
I am just surprised there's no dedicated section I browsed through music -> Genre, and no ringtone there either.
Baffled, can anyone shed some light here?
    Cheers

    Hi there!
Are you using your iPhone in the UK? If so, I have had this issue raised with o2. Basically, ringtones from iTunes is NOT currently an available feature in the UK just yet. o2 told me this will be shortly once licensing issues have been agreed upon. Hope this helps.

  • Can't find purchased ringtones in itunes.

So I didn't know the rule about syncing your iphone to different itunes and loosing your music. So I lost all of my purchased itunes ringtones (via the app). How do I get them back? Where do I find them in my itunes? I checked the "download purchased music" section, but there is no tab for ringtones. Any help would be great.

To the left of the iTunes main page you should see on the top left Library with Music, Movies, Apps and Tones.  Your ringtones should be in there.  If Tones does not appear, go into Preferences (assuming your using a Mac) and tick the Tones check box.
