Can't find my sent mail

I typed a long detailed e-mail a couple of hours ago and sent it. Later I went back to check for a reply and noticed that it didn't seem like Mail was "Getting Mail". There were no new mails, whereas on my iPhone there were new mails. I looked in the Sent Mail, etc and there is no sign of my long detailed sent e-mail. I had to Force Quit Mail due to Mail being non-responsive, and then started it again, when it did get my new mails, but still no sign of the sent e-mail. Can anyone please help? I'm just using the Mail application and my regular .me e-mail account. Thanks in advance for any help. The info in the e-mail was important, and I can't remember all of it now. My ISP is AT&T.

Mail/Mailbox/Rebuild - may work.

Simply enter the configurations menu from settings, go to personal config and the account should be listed there, select options and delete.

  • Where can i find the sent emails from iphoto?

    Sending emails from iphoto works.
But where can i find the history of my sent emails from iphoto. I can´t find it in mail.
    Thanks for help!

iPhoto and Mail are two entirely separate apps, so Mail keeps no record of what iPhoto does and vice versa.
iPhoto's mail feature is aimed at folks who use web mail generally, and who wanted templates. It's a handy way to send photos to Grandma, it's not an email client. It doesn't have a history or sent mail box.
    Workarounds:
You can set iPhoto to bcc yourself automatically
    or
Use Mail. It has templates too, and more of them.

  • Sometimes can't find a sent email in Lion - any idea why?

Since upgrading to Lion I sometimes can't find a sent email.
    The pattern seems to be:
    1. It's with a Gmail account.
    2. I think it's when I reply more than once to the same mail.
I want to look back over the mail and just don't see it anywhere within Mail. I know to whom the email is sent and I try looking for all mail sent to that person (even checking everywhere) and I can't find the very last email I sent.
If I go into Gmail and look at All Mail I do see the mail there. And the person does receive the mail. It's just not showing up in my sent mail in my Mail app.
Any idea why this might happen?
    Thanks,
    doug

    Hmm....
I'm thinking now that maybe it could be cases where I sent the reply from my iPhone Mail app instead of my iMac Mail app...
The email I was just talking about does show up on my iPhone Mail app, even without going into Gmail.

  • How can I find out the mail server from email address?

    Hi:
How can I find out the mail server from email address?
for example: If I know the email address is [email protected],
how to find the pop3 and smtp mail server?
    THANK YOU

You can't tell by the email address since you can pretty much put whatever you want in there (especially if the SMTP server is not filtering anything).
The header may be able to tell you something. There is a Received header value which looks like it has the routing information although I am not sure if this is a complete trace or just the last hop the message took.

  • I can't find my 'incoming mail server' menu/buttons on my iTouch 4g

I mean from Home > Settings > iCloud > Account > Advanced Mail I can see where my Outgoing Mail Server is but I can't find my incoming mail server. My Mail does not work (it can only send emails, and cannot receive emails) and I think it's because I don't have an incoming mail server menu/button(s)?

No. That is not the reason.  I do not have any information/button for an incoming server and it works fine.I would delete the account on the iPod and then recreate it.

  • How can I find my iCloud mail on my iPad?

Can't find my iCloud mail on my iPad.

If you have Settings > iCloud > Mail set 'on' then it should appear in the Mail app. If you are in a different email account in the Mail app then you can navigate up by tapping on the account name at the top left of the Inbox column, and you can then navigate down.

  • Can't Sync IMAP Sent Mail on E72 and other issues!

Has anybody any idea why Nokia felt it a good idea to release a phone with a mail client, that supports IMAP, but DOESN'T sync your sent mail? It is such a ridiculous omition that I am lost for words. I actually recommended the E71 to our IT department a few years ago but the mail client was so poor, we ended up getting 15 phones and 15 Profimail licences. The IT department have asked me to recommend the next phone as the E71 was a big hit and I asked them to get me this E72 to test. It is with great reluctance that I am going to try the iphone instead and recommend that as I believe the mail client on it is very good and the E72's is totally hopeless unless you go through the Nokia Messaging server, which obviously a corporate isn't going too. Before I knee jerk though, has anyone else had this issue and found a way around it?
Also, the predictive text is shocking now, the web browser is so buggy and closes without warning due to memory issues all the time.
Oh, the optical control pad is dreadful and totally useless and the select key also doesn't work in off-line mode, so the E72 is useless on a plane.
Nice to see that Nokia took the very good E71, played with it, broke it, made it far worse and buggy, stuck a new case on then released it as the E72. I remember the days that a Nokia phone worked from the minute you bought it, but now with firmware updates Nokia feel they can release half baked phones by the dozen, monthly. Pathetic.
Oh, and this is the latest firmware, too!
And one other thing, OVI Suite, PC Suite and the umpteen other applications that all do useful things....can Nokia not just release one main PC support app that works and has ALL the features under one roof? I have to installed them all on my PC as well as loads of other sync and office apps on the phone (like OVI Files) just to do the obvious things that you use a modern smartphone for.
Nokia, there is a very obvious reason why you are losing market share at the moment, and it isn't because people trust Google or like DRM and fruit pictures on their phones. Get a grip will you?
If anyone can help primarily with the Sent Mail sync issue in Nokia Email (without suggesting I route all my mail through Nokia's unreliable servers and divulge all my passwords), I would be very Grateful Indeed.

I had a number of problems setting up Google Apps with my phone. Mail, Calendar and Tasks were not syncing.
    Mail
Ok here is the solution to your sent mails problem. I have spent far too long setting up google apps to sync properly with my new E72 (latest software installed). It really is a superb phone but if Nokia is not going to fully support integration with Google Apps with a simple app then Android and Blackberry will simply take over for Apps users. It really isn't up to Google to solve this its up to Nokia. Are you going to move from Google Apps or change your phone????
I have gmail and  business google apps accounts and both are now syncing properly with what seems to be pretty good Nokia email software on the phone. This is allowing me to receive, send, view attachments, view sent mail etc. Here are the steps I took from the beginning.
    1. Enable IMAP for the google accounts. Couldn't get anything to work otherwise.
    2. Follow this instruction https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78887
    3. Your inbox should now be working however you now need to map the folders you want to see on your mobile. While at your inbox go to >settings>mailbox settings>what to sync>folder subscriptions.
    4. Click on Gmail and highlight the folders you want to see
    5. Go back to your inbox and go to the dragdown list of folders and highlight 'More Folders'. Under 'Gmail' you will find your sent items along with attachments etc. Problem solved. Its not a pretty solution but at this stage like me you just want something that works.
    Calendar
This was a nightmare and I am now running a third party app called Googasync which is working fine. In 10 days time I will need to buy this so if someone knows how to setup calendar syncing properly without it please let me know.
    Tasks
Googasync will not sync Tasks and I don't know if there is any app out there that will. If someone can help please let me know. Surely this should be pretty simple!?!?!
By the way I mailed Nokia support last Thursday on the above but have not received a reply.
In summary its a great phone and I've moved from a Blackerry Bold to it but I shouldn't be spending days finding workarounds!!

  • Can't find messages in Mail

Our company uses GMail as a mail service provider. This is a professional account, so it's under our own domain. I use Mail to download these messages to my MacAir.
I consistantly can't find messages after they have been downloaded by Mail. Oddly, Mail does find information for them and includes hits in the find box at the top of the window.
For instance, I received a message from RingCentral on Jan 7th, and when I type "ring" into the find box, the first hit is a Person, the person who sent me the message.
But if I select that Person, I get no results.
So Mail is aware I got a message from this person, but can't find the actual message.
This is *very* common, it seems it can only find messages from the last two days or so.
    Any suggestions?

  • Can't see my sent mails

I am a recent user, coming from Eudora.
It's all working pretty well, but I just noticed that my sent mails are not being stored anywhere. I have searched in different ways but can't find them.
I have checked prefs, and all relevant boxes are correct, i.e. never delete sent mails, etc.
I am using several accounts, all IMAP.

    Hello,
What mail service are you using now? You can "cache" your messages on your computer. From Mail's help:
"You can choose to keep a copy of your mail on your computer so you can work with it when you're not connected to the Internet. This option, sometimes referred to as "caching," is useful if you sometimes use your computer when an Internet connection is not available. You can set up caching by opening the Accounts pane of Mail Preferences, selecting an account, and clicking the Advanced button. Choose which messages you want to cache using the “Keep copies of messages for offline viewing” pop-up menu."

  • Can't find photos sent on iPad Air

I questioned how to send photos from my ipad & received an answer that worked - I believe - but answered my phone & when I came back to my ipad I can't find that email anywhere!  It is like it never existed!  Am sure I didn't hit send.  IiWhere do they go if you don't send immediately?  I hate to appear a real fool & have to call the recipient & ask if they received that email - or send it twice.  I am NOT computer savvy!!  Obviously!  Any ideas?
    AnnieDee

    Hey AnnieDee,
In the Mail app on your iPad, check your Sent and Draft folders. If you didn't hit send, it's most likely saved in your "Draft" folder. This functionality ultimately depends on what type of email service you use (gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc).

  • Can't find new e-mails in the library

    Hi everybody
My wife has a MacBook running on 10.5.6. After a computer crash (even Time Machine couldn't save the data), everything had to be reinstalled. Only problem is, since then, e-mails sent or received do show up in Mail, but NOT in the library files. What gives? I need these .emlx files, so I can do some tests on them.
    Thanks in advance!
    Claude C

Hmmm that's a bit of a worry if Spotlight can't pick up any files with .emlx extension.
What puzzles me is that you say that Mail shows the email messages in the viewer but you can't find them on the disk. If they are showing up in the Mail viewer then they've got to be on the HD.
Open finder and then in the Search box type emlx.
Click on the icon that looks like a gear.
Select the option "Show Search Criteria".
Click "kind" and select "File Extension". I that is not listed as an option then click "other".
Scroll down the list presented and choose File extension and then click OK.
You should now see the heading "File extension" and a box you can enter text.
Type emlx in that box then click on the Spotlight field where you typed in emlx in the first step and backspace to erase those characters.
The lower window should now reveal your messages.
Click on one of them and then Ctrl+Click (right click) and select "Open in Enclosing Folder".
The path should be shown at the bottom of the Finder window but to see that more clearly change the view to Column and then you can scroll to the left to see the folder structure.

  • Why can't I see sent mail / outbox?

In my business, it is important to verify that I have sent a mail message. I just switched from MS Outlook, where it was easy to check the outbox. I can't seem to find the outbox in the Macbook version of Mail. How can I set this program up with a button that will automatically take me to my sent mail folder? What I've been doing is using my gmail account until I can figure out how to make this mail program work.
    Thanks much!

Under normal conditions there should be a Sent-folder after sending the first mail out. If not, try creating a folder named "Sent", quit Mail and start again.
Is the account requiring the Sent-folder of type IMAP or POP3?
