does the passbook app work on the iPhone4 because I downloaded the apps for it but I continue to see the original screen for the app and I can't find passbook in my settings.

Some time in the future (Starbucks Tweeted the other day "by the end of the month") the Starbucks app will be Passbook enabled. When that time comes, you will log into the app with your credentials, select your Starbucks card, and you should be given an opportunity to add that card to Passbook at that time. From there, whenever you walk into a Starbucks the alert will be displayed on the lock screen, just slide your finger across the the alert and show your card to pay.
Now, I have not seen the new app, of course, so I am just speculating based on how the Walgreens, Fandango and Target apps work. Also, I am not sure yet if this will work in any Starbucks, or just the one that you consider your favorite, or primary location. Again, that is just based on how the other apps seem to work. We'll see.

  • Can't find Display in Application Settings. Want to control brightness.

"Control screen brightness on Firefox OS
How Do I Control Brightness Manually or Automatically?
Adjust screen brightness by using the Display function in the settings application.
Tap the Settings app and choose Display."
Above are the instructions to control brightness in Foxfire. The Settings application appears under Options and does't have Display in it. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Hi TheWeav, the article you mentioned is for the new FirefoxOS phones. Is your question about one of those or about Firefox on your Windows XP system?
Versions of Firefox for desktop computers don't have a brightness setting. You can adjust your display brightness using the global setting for Windows, which may involve some special function keys on your keyboard or a Windows control panel.
If you only want to adjust brightness of pages in Firefox -- to tone down white backgrounds, for example -- you could try an add-on.
    * In this thread, the NoSquint extension was suggested: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/782931 how to change brightness].
    * Several independently developed add-ons are tagged with the keyword "brightness" and might be worth a review: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/tag/brightness?platform=windows
Can you find a good solution?

  • Trying to update OS can't find update in general settings

Friend gifted me his IPAD, trying to update OS, but can't find Software Update in General Settings.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

  • Remote debug instructions. can't find Toolbox, hence no settings, hence no enable remote, FF34.0.5

    FF34.0.5
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Remote_Debugging/Firefox_for_Android
instructions lead me to no "Toolbox". Can't find.
Developer toolbar has "Tools" but no "Settings therein.
    Tools>Edit Tools &/or Options>options not appropriate.

Thanx - I will try that wheeze, it may work on FF Portable 34.
in desperation I installed Firefox Developer edition because I was using Firefox Portable (34.0.5) as my main development engine on sticks & fast external HDDs..
    Hmmmmmmm
Let us just say that the Developer Edition can't give me working breakpoints (within functions) on my 600 line JavaScript, locally. When connected to the internet and running similar pages on the web I get erratic breaks where no breakpoints exist. Maybe it can't handle the other 500 code lines ( a lexicon) and it has exceeded some limit that was not there before. eg http://stroudvoices.co.uk/c/
The original problem was to do remote debugging on an Android phone. That failed completely. Worse - I can't run my pages on Chrome/Android now because FF/Android was defaulted and after removing that default Chrome is no longer offered.
Looks like I have to abandon all updates on Portable Firefox as a precaution. That at least behaves as a debugging environ. Or make IE &/or Chrome as my preferred SDK. I am not looking forward to future "improvements".

When I initially set up my IPad, I decided not to use ICloud.  Now I want it and can't find it in settings. How do I get it back?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your profile says you are using iOS 4.3.3, if this is correct you will need to update your iPad before you can use iCloud.

  • HT201272 Please I can't find my ios update settings, can you help me?

Please I can't see my ios update settings, can anyone help me?

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, as you are on iOS 3 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button
    Updating to iOS 5+ : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
An iPad 1 will be updated to iOS 5.1.1

  • I want to go to yosemite from 10.6.8 and i can't find download screen sofar?

upgrade from 10.6.8 to yosemite 10.10.2 but never find the download screen to do it at apple site.jim

Open the App Store on your computer. Locate the Yosemite installer and download it. It is very large, over 5 GBs, and will take a while to download. When it finishes it will launch automatically. To move forward you would click on the Install button on your screen. Before you do that here are some things to do:
Make a copy of the installer in your Downloads folder. If you don't then installer is deleted automatically upon completion. With a copy your won't have to re-download it should that ever be needed.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Can't find my screen shots that use to show up on the desktop

    Hello all.
Since installing the new update of 10.4.4 when I take a screen shot with either the apple+ shift+ 3 or +4 the camera shutter sounds but the file is not to be found ? any help ?
    thanks.
    -p

    Hey Guys,
I was having the same problem and even though none of you mention having used a utility like Tinker Tools or Onyx to modify the screenshot file type, that's exactly what was causing the problem for me.
I'd used Tinker Tools to change the screenshot to a .psd - resetting everything back to the default settings (in Tinker Tool) and then logging out and back in again repaired the problem... in so much as the screen shots work again (the are .pngs again) and appear on the desktop as they should.
If you've used TT or Onyx (or some other method) to change your screen shot file format you may want to enable invisible items in the finder and delete all the 'misfires' that have been created there - I found quite a few invisible (broken) screen shots on my desktop with names like: .Picture 1.psd-shytk and .Picture 1.psd-hdfl (all with random junk at the end of the file name).
    Hope this helps out.

  • Settings widget on iPad Air has 1 alert but can't find it anywhere in settings nor figure out how to remove it.

Update to iOS 8.0.2 on my iPad Air flagged my Settings Widget with 1 alert.  I cannot find the reason for the alert anywhere within Settings and have tried to restart (i.e., power and touch ID) several times to no avail.  Would appreciate anyone's help trying to ID the problem and instructions on how to get rid of the alert, please.
    Thanks!

OK. Got it. sounds like the alert is hung after updating to 8.0.2. Based on past experience, it will not hurt anything, and will likely go away on its own after a bit. However, a couple of troubleshooting steps:
Open Settings app > General > Software updates. Verify that you have indeed installed 8.0.2
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • HT4628 My Epson Artisan 725 prints just fine but, when I tried to scan it seems not to be connected. I downloaded the scanner driver but I don't see it. And I can't find where to verify settings.

I'm having trouble scanning with my Epson all in one. I downloaded the scanner driver and tried a couple of things through epson support. I can't seem to find the driver on my Mac anywhere. I tried to download it again but still can't locate it. My printer is an Epson Artisan 725. The driver for the printer looks to be a 720.

I have same issue - have you solved this yet?
