Can't find printer on airport or in 'add' under system preferences

Hi I just purchased an imac and also the printer recommended to me by apple that they included in my package. I've gotten the printer to work just fine if I have it plugged into the usb, however the printer IS connected to my wireless network and yet I can't seem to pick it up with my airport or the system preferences>adding a printer. What should I do? I looked at numerous other posts, but none seem to address if the printer simply isn't showing up. I know it is connected to my wifi (set up through the printer's controls) because I have a green light on the printer, so why can't my imac pick it up? any help would be great.

I keep getting to that point...pushing the + sign, but then there aren't any printers there either. I've looked all over...the airport program, the different settings within adding a printer...just doesn't seem to be there. although the printer can print a page confirming its connection to my wifi. other things in the house have worked, such as setting up the wii with netflix, configured that through this imac. Just doesn't seem to see the printer. anyways, perhaps I will have to call. gotta say, I thought getting the printer in the package through apple would eliminate this situation...

I am having problems with my AirPort Express. It is listed in AirPort Admin Utility (with an IP Address), but does not show up under System Preferences > Network > Show.
How can I get the AirPort recognized?

In System under "Network" it shows "AirPort Card" with "No information found"
Your Mac does not have a wireless card installed or it is not working.
However, I would like to set up a shared printer and instructions I have for this say that I need to get the IP address of AirPort under System Preferences > Network > Show > AirPort.
That information should have nothing to do with a printer since the information there relates to your Mac... not to the AirPort Express (AX).

I can't sign into MobileMe from my Mac Desktop in system preferences.
It states "Unknown Validation Error Your MobileMe member name or password may be invalid. Please enter a different name or password."
I can sign in from the internet and from my phone with no problem so I know I have the right user ID and password. Does anyone know what would be causing this? Very frustrating...

You are technically way ahead of me, so I can't argue with what you did.
How about an even simpler WiFi network consisting of only the AirPort connected by an Ethernet cable to the printer? If the iPad still can't find the printer when connected to this network, then something is broken!
(Also try a different Ethernet cable.)

Unfortunately I have already rebooted the router and that did not fix the problem. The weird thing is that the computer is connected to the network, it just won't connect to my computer. I have printed the network configuration page to confirm this, and it says the wireless signal is strong.
I have not changed anything at all recently in terms of routers, networks, etc. The printer stopped working completely randomly.
Is there a part in the printer that like emits a signal which computers, phones, etc are supposed to detect? I don't know enough about the mechanics to really theorize about what is wrong, but it seems like that is the only thing that stopped working.
Do you have any other suggestions?

Yes, I did try resetting the printer system.
Obviously something is wrong because I can't add the printer. When I hit the plus sign it is not there unless I set up a Mac to share it.

You can use the table TTXFP to get the name of print program by entering the Script name.

Eric, I'm sorry not to be much help. As I'm not technically minded I was finding it hard to follow Paul's questions and he sorted it himself, but did say that it was to do with configuration.

Printer software will not finishing loading/can not find printer

received a Canon MX922 as a present. Attempting to connect and install printer to my HP Pavilion 17 notebook.
The software stops loading in the final 2 to 3 minutes of completion. Using printer on my wireless network.
All messages say can not find printer!!

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with installing your Canon printer on to your Windows 8 computer. I see that the computer is an HP. I suggest that you contact Canon for installation instructions. They will troubleshoot the printer on the Operating system NOT on the make of the computer.

Hey,
if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders. You can then navigate all the contents as normal.
