Can't find purchased audiobooks in iTunes 12

Hello-I purchased 3 audiobooks back in 2012 and somewhere along the line they are no longer showing up in iTunes. It says it needs to find the original copy. I tried going to Purchased in the iTunes store but there isn't an obvious way of locating audiobooks. Movies, yes. Music, yes. So how do I go about downloading them again? You must transfer all audiobooks as well as ringtones purchases to computer iTunes for safe keeping, they cannot be re-downloaded again for free.
You have to buy them again if you forgot to save them.

Can't find purchased ringtones in itunes.

So I didn't know the rule about syncing your iphone to different itunes and loosing your music. So I lost all of my purchased itunes ringtones (via the app). How do I get them back? Where do I find them in my itunes? I checked the "download purchased music" section, but there is no tab for ringtones. Any help would be great.

To the left of the iTunes main page you should see on the top left Library with Music, Movies, Apps and Tones. Your ringtones should be in there. If Tones does not appear, go into Preferences (assuming your using a Mac) and tick the Tones check box.

Can't find downloaded audiobook in itunes

Hi All:
I bought and downloaded an audiobook from the iTunes store. The download finished and then stated it had an error. When I went to find available downloads I received a message saying that all downloads had been completed. The audiobook does not show up anywhere in iTunes. Help please!

I have and nothing. On my iphone, if I click audiobooks and then history, it shows in the history and shows me the price (unlike the other things ive downloaded, which as downloaded) When i click on the price it say download this book. Ive continued through that process just to see what happens even though I was already charged, but it tells me that I already have downloaded it, yet I cant listen to it.

Depending on which device you used to purchase the audiobook, you may have to specifically enable its sync.

When you say they are displaying in your iTunes library, are you talking about the Audiobooks section of your iTunes library and not the audiobooks section indented under the iPod in the left pane of iTunes under Devices?
Is the iPod Shuffle configured to sync audiobooks or do you manually manage the iPod's contents?

My account shows the purchase history, but the apps are no longer displayed in itunes or on my ipad or iphone. I'm not very savvy with using iTunes - I don't think is very intuitive (unlike me:)). Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

It sounds like you essentially have a new computer and unless you restored from a backup your iTunes library would be empty. You can transfer your iTunes purchases from your iPod to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
SInce you changed syncing computers. after you move the stuff you need to restore the iPod to factory defaults and sync the stuff back to your iPod. If you had the iPod backup file you could restore from backup.
If you have non-iTunes pruchases you can copy them to your computer by using one of the third-party programs discussed in this previous discussion:

Make a playlist or lists for all of your audiobooks, then in your iPod preferences, change to sync the iPod to only those specific audiobook playlists.

I don't know how, but this problem resolved itself for me. If you don't see the downloads go to Documents, My Music, iTunes and then scrounge around to see if you can find a file with new downloads in there. Then you can drag them to the iTunes icon.
Then try shutting down iTunes, and your computer and restart to see if this issue fixes itself. I know, only a Mackie would think that a computer could fix itself.
