Can't find sentbox or deleted items, or forward to a Group

We are 70+ and need some assistance: We can't find a Sent box in our email set-up. We can't find a Deleted box either. We can't work out how to forward an email to GROUPS set up in our address book. This is new to us. We have been using Windows XP on our old computer.

Sent and Deleted may not come into existence until you need them. Have you sent or deleted a message yet?
Maybe you can't see the folders.
First of all, I recommend you set up the regular menus, and the toolbars.
http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/13_Menus_in_Thunderbird.html
Then check '''View|Layout|Folder Pane''' is selected
Then check '''View|Folders|All''' is selected too.
If by "groups" you mean a Mailing List, you just enter the List's name in place of an email address. (I don't think there is any easy way to import Groups from other email programs.)
Here are some words from [http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/10_Thunderbirds_Address_Book.html my website] about using the address book in Thunderbird:
There are several ways to use Thunderbird's Address Book.
Open the Address Book, select an address book, select a Contact (or several Contacts) and click the "Write" button (in the Address Book). This will create a new message, with the selected Contacts added to the To: address boxes. This approach has two major disadvantages; it can only be used to start a new message (it's of no use when replying or forwarding) and all the addressees are placed in the To: box, which is undesirable, unless you know for sure that all of these addressees have consented to their addresses being shared amongst them. This is fine between colleagues in the workplace, but unacceptable with friends' private email addresses.
If you select a Mailing List and click on "Write", then again a new message will be created, this time with the Mailing List's constituent Contacts all filled into the new message's To: boxes. This might be useful if you wanted to omit a Contact from a group mailing.
As mentioned above, there is an autofill system. Another way to use your Address Book is to start a new message (it could also be a reply or forward). If you don't want to send using To:, click on To: and alternative sending modes – Cc:, Bcc: etc, will appear. Select one, then just start typing a name or address into the address box. Suggestions that match what you've typed will appear. Move to the correct address and click it or press return, the address will be filled in and the cursor will advance to the next line. Even though there are, typically, only four address lines on show, Thunderbird will keep adding new lines and offer a scroll bar to allow them to be seen. You can grab and drag the top edge of the message text pane down to make more room for the display of addresses.
If you prefer a visual prompt, then when composing a message, use the F9 key, or via the compose window's menu:
View|Contacts Sidebar
and a sidepane will show you a compact view of one of your address books. You can now select Contacts, and use the Add to... buttons at the bottom, or drag-and-drop Contacts into an address box, or right-click and select an option from the context menu.
Mailing Lists will appear intermingled with your discrete Contacts, and can in principle be used in place of a Contact to stand for all the member Contacts stored in the Mailing List. The sending mode will be applied to each of the member Contacts within a Mailing List, so if you send to a List using Bcc:, it will act as if each of the Contacts named in the list was individually addressed using Bcc:.

WHERE CAN I FIND MY OLD DELETED APPS ON MY IPHONE

First of all, please stop typing in all capital letters.  It is the same as shouting.
App makers issue updates.  When an app updates, you should always use the latest version.  The latest version replaces any older version.

Sometimes simply restarting your iTunes, the computer and the iPad is all that it takes to correct an issue like this so try that. Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, and restart the iPad. Then try the sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • How can I find and save deleted messages on my Mac?

i am searching for ddeleted messages on my Mac and I can't find them.  If they are attainable, how do I save them?

    Hi,
Presuming the Post is about the Messages app and iMessages.
If you delete them they are gone or the Mac.
An iMessages arrives  and is displayed in the App.
there is a setting in the Preferences > General section about Saving on Close.
The iMessages are also stored in the chat.db items (unless deleted) and this provides the "history" when you reconnect to a contact who is not currently on display in the main window.
In Mavericks Saved Chats and the chat.db items (there are three in total) are held in different places.
The app does not work like Mail where the emails can be left on the Server and "read" by other devices.
The iMessages are pushed to the devices that then accepts them.
After that the "sync" function ends (What you do with the iMessages on one device is not seen or changed on another)

  • In which tables can I find the sales order item texts?

    Experts,
In SD, we have texts on sales order item level. These texts can be filled manually or automatically via access sequences. My question is very simple: in which table can I find these texts? I want to extract them for a big number of sales orders.
    Reward points if helpful answer.

  • How can I find and permanently delete an address card?

Bought a new MacBook for my wife. Our server informed her that it could not send an email out with this address <tomjones-comcast.net>. Obviously a error. She corrected it but because she was unfamiliar with the process, she created a new address card as well. Now, however, when she addresses an email, the old one still shows up in scroll. She deleted the card but the old address still showed up.
I used the find command under the File menu with the old email address and discovered where it was located: Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBook/MetaData
where it was identified: 11C34DF1-16DA….etc etc.
I found it in MetaData and dragged it to trash. (later I emptied the trash)
It still shows up, however, but neither Spotlight or Find can locate it.
How I can find it and delete it?

Since the address was incorrect, the email was never sent. The name doesn't appear in the recipient file.
Since I entered my question at the group, my wife lost all - mail program and alll addresses. I've rebuilt it all with the correct address this time and all is well.
    Thank you.
By the way I found all the addresses in the Trash in 5 "recovered" folders. Quite neat.

  • My 500gb mac mini disk has 2mg available because something called "backup" is using 451 gb. I can't find where to delete this backup?

My 500gb mac mini disk space is being used by something called "backup" (451gb). I have nothing left to work with. I can't find where this file(s) is so I can delete it.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside a photo or iTunes library will corrupt the library. Changes to such a library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install the app in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    For ODS:
    security execute-with-privileges /A*/OmniDiskSweeper.app/*/M*/* 2>&-
    For GP:
    security execute-with-privileges /A*/GrandPerspective.app/*/M*/* 2>&-
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password.
The application window will open behind other open windows. When you scan a volume, the window will eventually show all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Using latest version of iMovie.  Have two external harddrives for my movies.  Decided to finally allow "generate thumbnails" run.  While running, it says it can't find a couple clips and gets hung up - have to force quit.  What can I do?.  Also, anyway to speed things up?  Loading takes forever.  Thanks for any help!

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

  • Table entries got deleted  ,how can we find who has deleted these entries

    Hi Team,
We are using ECC6 /Oracle,few days back 2000 entries got deleted from one table.
How can we get the log for deleted entries with all the details like User ID ,Date and time of Deletion.
I have already checked STAD and DBACOCKPIT for SQL queries of deletion of records but could not find any log .
Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Yes, under controlled situation, you can find some information(at least date and time with what was deleted) even if deleted from SQL level.
You can use ORACLE's log miner - Using LogMiner to Analyze Redo Log Files
Or have a look at this note: 1128990 - Using Oracle Logminer with Oracle >= 10g

  • How can I find and retrieve deleted mail?

I made a big mistake yesterday---I renamed a mailbox folder containing multiple sub-folders of all my online and business account emails from two different servers. Then I deleted the old one, but it took all the sub-folders with it! I figured it was in the trash, but it's not. (I haven't emptied it.) I read Ernie's emails and turned Mail off, and went to library, but my pop mailboxes there were empty. I used a Smart mailbox function and went to each server, said include trash, and got two lists of hundreds of old emails. If I can download those again, I could rebuild my files. But how?
I spent a long time online today with a Roadrunner technician, and I can SEE my mail on the server, sitting in my inbox, but I don't know how to download it again to my computer and mail program, and neither does she. If I try to open this mail from my Smart mailbox list on my computer, it insists I cannot open without downloading. Similar situation on AOL.
Is there a chance that the emails the Smart mailbox is indexing are somewhere lost on my own computer?
Thanks for whatever help you can provide!

    You’re welcome.
First of all, messages deleted as a result of deleting the mailbox that contained them don't go anywhere, not even to the Trash. Rather, they are permanently removed from the filesystem.
If the messages are from a POP account configured to leave mail on the server for some time and they are still on the server, you can tell Mail to download them again as described in my first post.
If the messages are not on the server and you don’t have a backup, you may try to salvage as many deleted .emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II or FileSalvage. Of these, the only one I know for sure that can currently recover deleted .emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.
AOL automatically purges your mail from the server after some time, which causes the messages to disappear from Mail as well the next time Mail synchronizes with the server. There is nothing you can do about it other than moving/copying your messages somewhere else to avoid losing them and maybe specify a greater number of days somewhere in AOL’s (not Mail) settings. You can create custom local “On My Mac” mailboxes in Mail, for example, and move/copy your mail there manually or set up rules to do it automatically.
Also, AOL doesn’t let IMAP mail clients such as Mail to create or manage mailboxes at the root level of the account directory on the server, only as subfolders of Saved, which means you should turn OFF Store messages on the server for all the mailboxes in Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors, so that Mail stores those mailboxes locally on your computer instead.
Interestingly enough, none of these AOL idiosyncrasies would a problem if AOL accounts could be set up as POP instead of IMAP...

  • Help, I didn't follow directions and I now really have 1 million+ garbage contacts in my address bk and can't find how to delete except one at a time.

I had a large address book when I quit my 20yr job. Was under the gun to get info off the computer and leave and rather than go to the website (DUH) I tried some made up 'copy' to a stick, and when I went to 'paste' it into my new thunderbird personal addresses on the new home laptop, I created some mess in the address book that LITERALLY created over a million entries in the personal address book. I had to disable the start typing and match function to be able to enter an address in a new write email, and I cannot open my address book tab because it defaults to trying to open this huge file, and it goes into not responding now. I actually got it open once, highlighted first entry (blank) and scrolled to last entry and shift highlight and entered delete. but an hour later it still was working so I ended task, and now I can't even get it to pull up the list. I admit I'm an idiot, but can it be fixed???????

  • How can I find out who deleted my data

I think my soon to be ex husband deleted my phone data through my iCloud account..how can I know for sure???

No way to tell.  If he accessed your account using your ID/password (assuming he knew those), then there's no way of knowing that.  If he doesn't know your ID, then someone else has deleted your data.  But again, there's no way of knowing who, if anyone.

  • Where can I find how to delete duplicate photos without manually deleting one at a time?  Photos were duplicated when I did a sync with my phone and iPad.  Thanks.

How can I easily delete all duplciate photos from my entire library?  I really don't want to do this manually as I have many photos.  When I did my sync with camera and photos using my iPhone and iPad many of my photos were duplicated.  Thanks

Photos does not have a built-in duplicate remover.
Try to restore the Photos library from before you synced and duplicated the photos from your backup.
Most third party duplicate cleaners do not yet work with Photos, but there will be soon one that works with Photos:
    ttp://www.fatcatsoftware.com/comments/announcing_powerphotos
Also, Duplicate Annihilator is now available for Photos.

I was videoing a band rehearsal last night on my 4g, front camera, about an hour, usually a 2gb file
I may have turned off the phone instead of stopping record and the video isn't in the pictures folder, but about 2gb of data has beed used and shows up in orange as other data (instead of pics/apps/music etc)
    1. anyone managed to recover a file like this?
    2. can i delete the buffered data without a full restore?
    iP4

    Lion

When you turned your phone off, rather than properly stopping the recording, you corrupted the file, that's why it's not recognizable. There is forensic software that could probably recover this data, but that is an expensive route. I know of no, readily available, third-party software that could extract this data. Looks like your best choice is to first restore your phone from backup. If that doesn't get rid of it, you'll have to restore as new.

At the bottom of the pane is a button labelled Account Actions, which when clicked will reveal an option to Remove Account. You can select and remove as many accounts as you wish, but note that you won't be permitted to remove the default account. You'll first need to make one of them or create a default account.
