Can't find serial number on Acrobat X

Question

I purchased a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner that was bundled with Adobe Acrobat X Standard.  The serial number for activation of Acrobat was not on the CD envelope or anywhere else in the packaging.  Fujitsu says that they do not keep track of the serial number of the Acrobat disks included with each scanner.  Is there anything I can do to get my software activated?

Each and every Fujitsu machine or item we ever bought from their business line of products here in Germany has a tracking code/ serial and can be traced via their website to download drivers and track build, repair and order statuses. It can even be used to order replacment media for OEM software. That being so, I would strongly assume they know the serials of these OEM versions and keep records of them because naturally someone has to put those stickers on there in the first place. Even if this is merely a retail version, it has a serial number and though their consumer business surely runs differently, each device still has a serial number. I'd definitely poke at them a bit based on that. What would it matter to them to provide a replacment media with a new serial, anyway? In my view this situation is no different than if the media or product was damaged or the DVD not in there in the first place. In the grander scheme of things this is peanuts. The rest is between you and them and whatever legal regulations may apply.
