Can't find "Signatures" in Mail

"Mail Help" says I can go into Mail Preferences and click on signatures .... nothing there to click on. Then it says I can go to the "customize" pop-up menu in lower left corner of header and choose Customize. No such pop-up menu except if I open up a new message. I can go to "customize" but there's nothing about any signature options. Can anyone help???

There's a row of icons (General, Accounts, RSS, Junk Mail, Fonts & Colors, Viewing, Composing, Signatures, and Rules) at the top of the Preferences window, just below the horizontal area with the three colored buttons at the top left and the window title at the top center. Immediately below that are the details for the selected icons. In the case you're talking about, you're seeing the Accounts details, with the list of Accounts on the left, and the three tabs for Account Information, Mailbox Behaviors, and Advanced to the right.
If you don't see the icons at the top, something's wrong with your Preferences pane. Have you tried running Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities) to Repair Disk Permissions? Perhaps, a file permission is damaged and not displaying the complete window properly. You could also go to the ~/Library/Preferences folder (the Library folder in your user account, not at the root) and move the com.apple.mail.plist file to the Desktop, then restart Mail to see if anything's changed. If you see the icons, you're done, if not, put the com.apple.mail.plist back where it was (select the Replace option when it asks). A more severe option would be to move the Mail application to the Trash, and rerun the MacOS X installer to have it rebuild the Mail application.
To see if the issue is strictly with your account, and not the System, go to System Preferences (under Apple Menu, top left of screen), select Accounts, and create a new Administrator account by clicking the + at the bottom left of that window. Then, log out of your current user account and log into the new account you just created. This account has all the operating system default configuration options. Go to the Applications folder and startup Mail again. You'll have to enter your email info again, but that doesn't hurt anything, this is just temporary. After the Mail app tests your email credentials and gives you the standard Mail window, go to Mail/Preferences again and see if the window looks the same as it does in your normal user account. If it does, the problem is with your Mail application and it will have to be reinstalled.
At that point, you could move your Mail application to the Trash, insert your MacOS X Installer disk, and run it again, this time selecting the Archive & Install option, preserving your data, account settings, and network settings, and let it rebuild your System and the now missing Mail application. Of course, after doing that you'll have to rerun Disk Utility to Repair Permissions again, then run Software Update (System Preferences) to get all the operating system updates again.
Let us know how your diagnostic progresses.
Sorry for the partial double post. I had a problem editing the previous post.

Simply enter the configurations menu from settings, go to personal config and the account should be listed there, select options and delete.

  • How can I find out the mail server from email address?

    Hi:
How can I find out the mail server from email address?
for example: If I know the email address is [email protected],
how to find the pop3 and smtp mail server?
    THANK YOU

You can't tell by the email address since you can pretty much put whatever you want in there (especially if the SMTP server is not filtering anything).
The header may be able to tell you something. There is a Received header value which looks like it has the routing information although I am not sure if this is a complete trace or just the last hop the message took.

  • I can't find my 'incoming mail server' menu/buttons on my iTouch 4g

I mean from Home > Settings > iCloud > Account > Advanced Mail I can see where my Outgoing Mail Server is but I can't find my incoming mail server. My Mail does not work (it can only send emails, and cannot receive emails) and I think it's because I don't have an incoming mail server menu/button(s)?

No. That is not the reason.  I do not have any information/button for an incoming server and it works fine.I would delete the account on the iPod and then recreate it.

  • How can I find my iCloud mail on my iPad?

Can't find my iCloud mail on my iPad.

If you have Settings > iCloud > Mail set 'on' then it should appear in the Mail app. If you are in a different email account in the Mail app then you can navigate up by tapping on the account name at the top left of the Inbox column, and you can then navigate down.

  • Can't find messages in Mail

Our company uses GMail as a mail service provider. This is a professional account, so it's under our own domain. I use Mail to download these messages to my MacAir.
I consistantly can't find messages after they have been downloaded by Mail. Oddly, Mail does find information for them and includes hits in the find box at the top of the window.
For instance, I received a message from RingCentral on Jan 7th, and when I type "ring" into the find box, the first hit is a Person, the person who sent me the message.
But if I select that Person, I get no results.
So Mail is aware I got a message from this person, but can't find the actual message.
This is *very* common, it seems it can only find messages from the last two days or so.
    Any suggestions?

  • Transf fr explorer & can't find my e.mails, icons, favorites etc

my hp quit working, internet explorer too faulty, mother board faulty, Best Buy cancelled explorer and Geek Squad inst. Firefox and now I can't find any of my icons, shortcuts, e.mail, contacts, email addresses, I am lost with this Firefox, and I don't want windows mail. I want Yahoo mail, I guess. This hp laptop had factory faults, so hp says, but they never repaired it, have made 27 trips to Best Buy traveling 60 km ea. trip. Hp kept this laptop for 15 days and said it had factory faults, but never fixed it. Sound never worked, start up button doesn't work. As of July 13/11 Best Buy writes on work sheet "known motherboard problem" I am 76 and need my e.mails to keep in touch with family, charities, world news and educ. research etc. I liked internet explorer but Best Buy said it was too corrupted and gave me Firefox, and I find it complicated. If Geek Squad wanted to inst Firefox, why didn't they transfer all my files etc. so that when I opened Firefox, it was all there. I'm disappointed.

    Mail/Mailbox/Rebuild - may work.

  • Hi! where can I find the apple mail address to contact the company

Hello!! I desperatly need to contact by mail the Apple Store of the 5th Avenue, New York. Where can I find the email address??
    Thanks

    This is the mailing address...
    Apple Store

  • Can't find the custom mail stationery folder since upgrade to Lion

I have some custom mail stationery items I created in Leopard and have since upgraded to Lion when it was released.  Today I went to edit one of my custom ones and the folder was no longer present in the old location at
    User folder/Library/Application Support/Mail/Stationery/Apple/Contents/Resources/Custom
I have searched everywhere looking for the 'custom' folder but can't find it.
Problem is that mail still is showing them as if they still exist (and can use them) but I can't find where they are.   I decided to try creating a new template to see where it stored it but I can't find it anywhere and definitely not in the usual place.
Can someone please point me in the right direction .. I'm pulling my hair out!!!!

Binaut's answer is great.  However, how I was able to successfully move and place my custom stationery packages so they would show up in the "CUSTOM" category in a new mail using stationery took a different path. I had to place it in the SYSTEM Library FIRST. Of course I made the changes to the Table of Contents.plist and all that. AFTER I placed the package in the System/Library/Application Support etc. (the traditional place for templates) Mavericks Magically created the CUSTOM folder automatically and everything worked.
If I'm off on this, please let me know.
Below is a link to a new discussion I've started.
Hope this works for you!  There's also a link to a good tutorial on creating your custom stationery in the first place.
    Best to you!

  • Can't find new e-mails in the library

    Hi everybody
My wife has a MacBook running on 10.5.6. After a computer crash (even Time Machine couldn't save the data), everything had to be reinstalled. Only problem is, since then, e-mails sent or received do show up in Mail, but NOT in the library files. What gives? I need these .emlx files, so I can do some tests on them.
    Thanks in advance!
    Claude C

Hmmm that's a bit of a worry if Spotlight can't pick up any files with .emlx extension.
What puzzles me is that you say that Mail shows the email messages in the viewer but you can't find them on the disk. If they are showing up in the Mail viewer then they've got to be on the HD.
Open finder and then in the Search box type emlx.
Click on the icon that looks like a gear.
Select the option "Show Search Criteria".
Click "kind" and select "File Extension". I that is not listed as an option then click "other".
Scroll down the list presented and choose File extension and then click OK.
You should now see the heading "File extension" and a box you can enter text.
Type emlx in that box then click on the Spotlight field where you typed in emlx in the first step and backspace to erase those characters.
The lower window should now reveal your messages.
Click on one of them and then Ctrl+Click (right click) and select "Open in Enclosing Folder".
The path should be shown at the bottom of the Finder window but to see that more clearly change the view to Column and then you can scroll to the left to see the folder structure.

I can't find the path /usr/share/caldavd/share/email_templates/invite.html (or any equivalents) described in this Thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3371815. Maybe the path has changed with OS X Mountain Lion Server, but i nearly searched the whole Filesystem. Does anyone know where the Templates are located?

  • I downloaded iCloud and now I can't find my e-mails

Where do I find my e-mails after I downloaded ICloud.

I don't know what you mean by "downloaded icloud" - perhaps you signed into your accout at settings>icloud.  At any rate, you need to go to settings>Mail,...   and create an account for the mail app using your icloud ID and password.  Be sure to choose iCloud from the choice of types of email accounts.

  • Firefox can't find my Yahoo mail, though it shows in Overview

I don't know if this is a valid url, but it's what Search is telling me it can't find.

If you are using a bookmarked link then go to the main Yahoo site and navigate from there to the wanted email page.
