Can't find slide show project

I was working on a slideshow and saved it when I quit.  Now I can't find it. (elements 6)
Any tricks?
thanks

In Organizer click on the display button (near top right) and change to folder location view.
Saved projects are usually stored near the top of the folder structure unde ProgramData.

  • New to iMovie - Slide Show project

I've been lurking in the iMovie discussions for a couple of months now, and I'm trying to absorb the knowledge of the community. I'm also working my way through "The Missing Manual" which is invaluable. I have two projects in mind, so I'm starting two threads to ask for advice.
First is my "Slide Show" project. I have around two thousand jpeg pictures from my daughter's wedding, and I'd like to put together a DVD of the wedding. This sounds fairly straightforward to me, but I'd like your advice on my plan.
The project starts with an outline on paper of the structure of the project - starting with David Pogue's "22 Shots for Your Wedding Video" from the Missing Manual.
Question 1: I'm thinking of a 20 to 30 minute show, with each slide on screen for 3 to 4 seconds, and a simple cross dissolve between most pictures - maybe a Ken Burns Effect thrown in as a transition between sections, say between the church and the reception. Is this a reasonable length and plan?
Question 2: I'm thinking of using a series of approximately one-minute music clips for the sound. Many years ago, in a different forum, I read a comment that the sound track was more difficult than the video, so I was thinking of putting the music together first, and laying the pictures over it. I'm planning to use Amadeus II to build the audio track, with fades from song to song. Then maybe just import the 20 or 30-minute sound track into iMovie and fit the video by adjusting each picture's duration. Is this a reasonable plan? Would I be better off to feed iMovie smaller chunks at a time?
Question 3: With no disrespect to iPhoto, I've grown up using Graphic Converter and so I plan to use it to shuffle through the 2000 pictures, sort and select those I want to use, and then crop them to 720 x 528 (or 1.364:1) for use without the Ken Burns effect. I realize that part of the elegance of iMovie is it's integration with the i-Suite, but is there any other downside to this plan?
Question 4: I also understand that I do not want to let iMovie render my stills, but to let iDVD do it. To do this, I would just quit my project without letting iMovie render it, and then open it in iDVD, correct?
Sorry for the length of this post - I've been thinking a lot about this project, but it's time to start doing rather than just thinking!
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi Joe
Q1: About 300 to 600 slides sounds OK when there is a line in the story and
some nice music also will make it easier to appreciate.
Q2: I would import the 300 to 600 photos I need and work with them. Putting in
the Music first is the way I think animatours usually do it. I would at least.
Q3: I would Create a new folder "Photos" and with GraphicConverter™ convert
them to high quality jpegs and into the new folder. I wouldn't do anything about
size but let iMovie do it's job. If some photos showes up flickerings premiary
in thin lines. (You need to connect Your miniDV camera to Your Mac and to
a TV-set to be able to judg final quality). Then I would manually open each of
them in PhotShop and add a little "Gaussian blurr" to them.
Of course crop to right size first.
I-sight - I have no experience of it - sorry.
Q4: I do it another way.
    a) Close iMovie
    b) find the project icon/folder
    c) Ctrl-click on it and Show package.
    d) in this there are a folder -> Shared Movies -> iDVD
    e) in this there is a QT movie nnnnnnn.mov
    - You can test this with QT-player to see that it is OK -
START A NEW iDVD project - so that old material will not interfere.
    f) drop this into an open theme in iDVD (just inside the edge of the
window) and save it as a desktop image
(if iDVD prior HD/5 You have to add a hack to make this possibly
    named HPfurz and install it)
Test this with Apple DVD-player - OK then burn it with iDVD
or Toast if You have and don’t want to re-code the movie.
(in iDVD 5 You can drop Your iMovie project icon directly into a theme window)

  • How can I change the order of photos in iPhoto so I can create the slide show I want?

How to change the order of photos in iPhoto on my iPad, so I can create the slide show I want.

Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac.  I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album.  Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu.  Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number.  Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder.  Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window.  The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc.  There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder.  Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name.  001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad.  Click on your iPad device in the list at the left.  Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right.  In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are.  Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right.  The slides will be copied to your iPad.  Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding.  Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad.  But this worked and gave me several options.  I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV.  TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.
    Hope this helps!

  • How i can create animated slide show?

How i can create animated slide show to my web sites listed bellow? Is Adobe PS suitble for it ?
    My websites are
    http://insurance-helpz.blogspot.com/
    http://www.autoinsurance-helpz.blogspot.com/
You knowladge will help me to develop my sites with attractive slide show
    Thank you

JJMack covers some possibilities, predicated on the embedded player in your Web site.
You might want to look at another pair of Adobe programs, that work well together: Adobe Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements. They are available in a bundle, and, if you do not have Photoshop Extended (up through CS 5.5), or Ps CS 6, or Ps CC, they cost MUCH less.
One can create the SlideShow in the Organizer (sort of like Bridge, but with some differences), then can Send to Premiere Elements for final editing, such as the addition of Narration, or a Soundtrack. From PrE, one can then output to many, many different formats for linking to the player on the Web site.
Now, if you have Ps Extended, Ps CS 6, or Ps CC already, you have video-editing capabilities, but some of the output options (and even Import options), will be limited.
If searching for a program (or bundle of programs), then the Elements duo will do exactly what you need. Also, both of those programs have their own, very active forums, so you will have two communities to offer you support.
    Good luck,

  • Can't find my book project after migration to iPhoto 09. Help please?

I'd worked for many hours on a book project in iPhoto '07. Then I updated to '08 and now to '09. I can't find my book project listed anywhere. Is there a way to get it back? Many thanks. Robinbigbird.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
You backed up before each of those updates, of course? So the simple thing is to restore from one of those.
When you updated, what exactly did you do? Did you import a Library to a new iPhoto?
    Regards
    TD

  • I can not find tv show purchased in my library

I can not find tv shows previously purchased in my library how do i get them back?

i have repeatedly done that. I get an error of "The disk can not be read from or written to". This has now happened on all TV downloads in the last two months. When i play on my IMac, they play fine. The same on my Apple TV.

  • Can't find TV shows in 7.6.2.9

I can't find TV Shows in this newest version of iTunes in the Store, under Power Search, Genre, etc. I'm using Windows Vista. Anyone else having this problem?

Have you confirmed that iTunes is still set for one of the countries that has TV shows? Check the My Store setting at the bottom of the main iTunes Store window.

  • PSE 9 Organizer Slide show can't find the slide show project files after moving from XP to Windows 7

A bad computer virus forced us to move all our files and programs from XP to Windows 7.  The PSE Editor seems to be working properly, but the Organizer Slide Show can't find the project files.  The structure of each of the 15 slide shows (blank slides) is there and any text I had added, but the pictures and music are missing.  Our computer Tech is not too familiar with PSE and may not have the files in the right spot.  Evidently XP and Windows 7 are organized a little differently and use different names.  He still has all the PSE files from our old hard drive in a folder and probably just needs to know where to put them.

+Windows Vista has different file locations than Windows XP+
This is the problem - the iTunes ITL file from XP is using XP paths, which don't exist in Vista. Here are some directions that have worked for others:
    - Copy your entire iTunes folder --- not just the iTunes Music folder but basically everything under "My Documents" - to external storage
    - Copy those files to your "Music" folder on your Vista system. The end result should be that you have "Documents\Music\iTunes" on Vista, where you had "My Documents\My Music\iTunes" on XP
    - Put a fresh install of iTunes on the Vista system.
    - When you run iTunes for the first time, hold down the Shift key. If it asks you to select a library file, pick the one you just transferred over.
    - The end result should be your library, including all ratings, play counts and play lists, sitting on the new system.

  • Need Basic advice on save format & slide show project

I have started a project to scan and save approximately 5,000 color slides and 5,000 plus Photos  of  Family and Friends over a 50 year period.
My goal is to use Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 to edit and save files to hard drive and then use PSE 9 to Organize, add tags etc.
and then produce slide shows  to view primarily on big screen (52 inch plus) HDTV sets.
The equipment I will be using 1ncludes: 1. Epson Perfection V600 Photo Flatbed Scanner
    2. Nikon Cool Scan IV  Slide & Film Scanner
    3. Dell XPS 8300, Intel i7 3.4ghz processor, 12.0gb installed memory, 2 each 1tb hard drives.
      4. Windows 7 OS
I have been working on scanning and saving pictures for over 2 months and the deeper I get into this project the more questions arise.
I am looking for advise now rather than later so I won't have to re-do hours of work later. I have visited Forums and viewed all the Tutorials I could find for help.
Some things I don't entirely understand and really need help and advice on are: 1. What is the best sequence of workflow?
    2. What format, size and resolution would be best to" save as" for my purpose?
I see no need to save in high quality PSD if I am not going to Print Photos later?
    3. Should I do re-sizing to 1500pi X 1000pi (Or ??) during the initial edit or later in Organizer?
I have been cropping and saving photos in a multitude of sizes and resolutions.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.  I have a lot to learn. Thanks, Donald

There will be lots of opinions and your mileage will vary. Get the book ScanTips - www.scantips.com.  It da bomb
I had a similar Epson flatbed and number and my workflow was like this:
    * Use the Epson scan software
    * Set to 2400 bpi and save to TIFF (I now wish I had saved most to high quality JPEG.  Sigh).
    * Use Digital Ice where it mattered (Ektachrome) and not where it didn't (Kodachrome)
    * Organize belt and suspenders -- directories (and Organizer tags) identical to the date stamp on the slide.  It will help you a lot when you correct the EXIF date later and if you ever want to find the slide again in  the tray or a more compact box storage (I threw away a lot of trays)
    * Expose the slides to air as little as possible.  I found it better to go direct from carousel to scanner with only enough time to dust carefully and orient
(it takes less time to throw away losers on the scanner display than on a viewer box)
    * Throw away the loser
    * Start with a stack and as I lay them on the flatbed, dust carefully.  I used an old-fashioned StaticMaster - saved lots of time versus a blower brush
    * Learn the histogram on the scanner software.  It does a good job on bottom and top values but the mid-tones almost always benefit and it will save you oodles of time
    * set the correct date (as close as you can) in your organizing software
    * If I cropped, it was to a 12x9 ratio (good for prints and not bad for conventional TV)
    * I found Microsoft Photo Story 3 did a nice job and handled resolution and cropping fine.

  • Why Won't PreE Burn my Slide Show Project to a DVD?

I created a slide show using PE 6 and sent it to PreE 4. However, when I try to burn it to a DVD using PreE 4 it just quits on me? Then I can't even open PreE?? I really don't know what's happening?? My complete slide show is saved in PreE 4 and I can find it at  adobe\Premiere Elements\4.0\ project name. However, when I try to open it nothing happens. I thought perhaps my slide show was too big for PreE but that doesn't appear to be the problem. My saved PreE 4 slideshow is 8.29 MB and PE 6 slideshow gives a play time of 56:43 Min after creation.
A standard  DVD is at 120 minutes and 4.7 GB
Can anyone tell me what the devils happening here or at least give me some direction to solve this dilemna.
    Thanks for any help provided.

The slideshow created in Photoshop Elements Slideshow Editor exists there as a creation and goes no where until you output it to something else. If your goal is a DVD-VIDEO version of your slideshow and you want to use Premiere Elements to generate the DVD-VIDEO, before Photoshop Elements 5/Premiere Elements 3, you had to output your slideshow as a file sized .wmv video and import that into Premiere Elements. The use of the .wmv limited the possibilities for further edits of the slideshow that arrived on the Premiere Elements Timeline as one whole video rather than individual photos. Further, there were those that questioned the use of the .wmv version for quality reasons. I never found that to be the case.
But, if you have the specific combinations of Photoshop Elements 5/Premiere Elements 3 OR Photoshop Elements 6/Premiere Elements 4 OR Photoshop Elements 7/Premiere Elements 7, you obtain the perk of being able to send your Photoshop Elements slideshow to Premiere Elements in a non wmv form which can be broken apart allowing for further significant edits. The keys to doing this are:
    a. Specific sets 5/3 or 6/4 or 7/7
    b. Use of the Photoshop Elements Slideshow Editor Output option of “Send to Premiere Elements” which then makes available the “Break Apart Photoshop Elements Slideshow” command in Premiere Elements (right click video on Timeline, select “Break Apart Photoshop Elements Slideshow”). If you had some mismatch of Photoshop Elements Premiere Elements versions, like 6/7, the Photoshop Elements Output option of “ Send to Premiere Elements” would be available, but once the slideshow got to Premiere Elements, the “Break Apart Photoshop Elements Slideshow” would not.
Immediately after the output is completed in the Media panel you will see:
    a. Folder containing the individual photo and video assets
    b. A file representing the intact slideshow in video form
On the Timeline you will see your intact slideshow video form.
The Time Stretch Tool is used to change duration. You can use:
    a. (less precise) The Time Stretch Tool Icon above the Timeline. Click that, watch your mouse cursor turn into a vertical bar with a cross (diagonal arrow and red bar) superimposed, then click on drag end of image.
    b. (more precise). The Time Stretch feature via right clicking the image on the Timeline, selecting Time Stretch, and typing in the duration.
    c. in either case, any gaps created on the Timeline are gotten rid of by right clicking the gap and clicking on the “Delete and Close Gap” pop up.
When you go to decrease the duration or when you are changing the duration of an image at the end of the Timeline, everything will be going as you expected. HOWEVER, when it comes to increasing the duration or changing the duration of an image in the middle of the Timeline, you will need to move the images to make room for the expansion and then close the gaps.
Before I go on to some other things, I should go back to the Media panel and its contents immediately after receiving the Photoshop Elements Slideshow. You can open the folder with assets (photos & videos) in the Project Media View. If you right click one of the files, select Time Stretch, change the duration of the image, the duration of that file will be changed and be reflected if you drag that file from Project View Media area to the Timeline. BUT, this will not change the duration of that image which is already on the Timeline.
There are so many other aspects of this that I will save for another time. One of the things that we could talk about is creating slideshow and the DVD-VIDEO slideshow all within Premiere Elements and bring into play:
Premiere      Elements’ Create Slideshow feature to set image duration OR transition      duration all at one time
Changing      the Premiere Elements default duration (5 sec) via Edit      Menu/Preferences/General
Pans & Zooms with Edit Menu/Effects/Presets/Horizontal and Vertical Pans or Zooms as well as creating Pans & Zooms with keyframing.
I am probably running into the Flash Player and Premiere Pro Forum space by now. Please focus me in on your specific issues and I will continue with my what works for me comments.

  • How to save and later edit slide show projects ?

To create a slide show, photos are rearranged in a desired sequence.
The project can be saved in a pdf file. If changes are desired, such as adding images or rearranging, how can this be done without starting over from the beginning?
    Photoshop Album, starter edition

Colin, thank you for your response, but I cannot change the sequence of pictures in a collection.
Is there any way to do that other than changing the dates?

  • Can't delete slide show from catalog in PSE 6

I am a fairly new user of PSE working in a Windows Vista environment.  When I right click on the thumbnail of an unwanted slideshow in PSE 6
and select "Delete from Catalog" I get the message "An error occurred while reading files or writing files to disk.  The disk may be full or there may be a problem with the source media".   My disk is NOT full.    The same thing happens when I try to do a full backup of my catalog.  It seems to complete the backup, but then gives me the same error message.
Also, I cannot go in and edit a slide show and then save it - the "SAVE" option is grayed out and I am forced to use the "SAVE AS" and save it under a different name thus creating a duplicate.
I am VERY FRUSTRATED as I have spent much valuable time creating these slide shows.  Can anyone help???

I didn't use it because of comments I've read by developers who've had problems with the Linked function.  You don't need to select the Linked function to edit an imported slide in Captivate, though, do you?  I thought unlinked slides were imported into the project library, and that you can edit them there.  Have I misunderstood how this works?

  • Where can I find iMovie (2013) projects?

I missed one and I can't find it in Time machine... Thank you for your help.

In iMovie, there are 8 themes and 15 trailers and no 3rd party themes/trailers are available.
To preview the themes and trailers, open iMovie and click on File > New Project.
A window will open showing you all the availables.
You can play with these by clicking on any of them for a preview of how they will look and work.
I suggest in your case you have a look at either the Holiday or Travel movie trailers.
Remember you will be adding your own video and text so you can give these a China look and feel.
    Best, Z.

  • Premier 10 can't find Premier 8 project pictures

Last summer I upgraded to Premier 10.  I just tried to open some old projects I created in version 8 and it asks me where my picture is.  One would be fine but it can't find anything, even though it hasn't been moved.

First, I would see this article to get a background on what is contained in the PREL (Project) files: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3397716#3397716
Next, I would look over this article, on the linking of Assests, and the "Where is file ___ ?" dialog: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4598705#4598705
Last, if you have "Media Offline," then this article might give you some background, and tips: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3561281#3561281
Good luck, and hope that those articles are helpful.
