Can't find the backup from iPhoto library in TM

I had 10.5 Leopard installed, and I seriously screwed it. So I got 10.6 Snow Leopard, formatted the Hard Drive and started it all from scratch.
The thing is, after installing Snow Leopard I got all my files back from TM, except the iPhoto library. I can find it nowhere! And I've looked over the 2 different external hard drives I had used to backup my data. In any of them I find the iPhoto Library under the images folder.
I've got no idea what happened. Why in the world wouldn't TM back up my iPhoto library, once I didn't add it to the list of folders TM wouldn't backup in the Pref Pane?
Does that mean I lost I may pics?

When you launch Time Machine and go back in time to you see the iPhoto library in the pictures folder (default location) before the upgrade? If so select it and click restore to bring it back

    You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.
    Unless you've iPhone 4S (looks similar to iPhone 4)

  • Updating to iOS 5 wiped my ipod clean, can't find the backup from the update. Please help!

    So I updated my ipod touch 4th generation on my old Windows Vista computer. It's been the same iTunes computer that I used to sync with when I first bought the device when it came out. I wiped the old backups inside iTunes before updating because it was taking space. While updating it was backing up my iPod. But then when it finished updating and said I was at iOS 5, it didn't restore my iPod touch. I went into the mobile sync>backup folder in my app data but couldn't find the backup from the update. Apparently iTunes doesn't save the backup from the update. I had 20gb's of my apps on the iPod. I know that I can download back the apps because of iCloud. However, I lost all my photos, notes, contacts, and all the app data in the 140+ apps that were in there. I am pretty sure there is no solution for this problem but I'm just putting it out there. This is my last sliver of hope.

    hello, i have the same problem as you, did you back up before iOS 5? so, you your situation is, that you have an empty, iOS 5 ipod, with the apps, but no game data, no notes, contacts, photos etc. ? ive got the same problem, did any of your apps disappear by any chance? if you backed up before update, use that, if not, i suggest restore to the oldest back up you have, but the newest back up you had before iOS 5, its better than an emptry ipod, hope i helped.

    I can't find my pictures from iphoto. I was downloading Iphone pictures and the library disappeared. How can I recover them?

    Restoring a backup is specific to the backup program you are using to do your daily backups - consult it's manual, help file or author's support site
    Back up your iPhoto library, Depress the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library starting with the first option and trying others until you are succesful

  • I have Iphoto library in Aperture.  Can I move the projects from iPhoto to aperture project by dragging?

    I have Iphoto library in Apeture.  Can I move the projects from iPhoto to aperture project by dragging (within the apeture program)? Is this making a duplicate of all the photos? It seems to work??  It then leaves my Iphoto library in apeture empty.  I would like to do this just to reorganize the photos between the two.  I feel that I may have doubles and would like all pictures of one year in same project in Aperture instead of going between both.

    Tell us more, please. I am not quite sure, what you want to do and how you are using Aperture and iPhoto?
    Which versions of Aperture and iPhoto are you using?
    Do you have separate photo libraries for Aperture and iPhoto, or are you opening your iPhoto libraries in Aperture?
    I have Iphoto library in Apeture.
    Did you import an iPhoto library into Aperture?  And now you are seeing a section "iPhoto Library"  in the Aperture projects list in the Inspector?
    Events and albums you imported from iPhoto (Import > Library > Some iPhoto Library) will be imported as Aperture projects and albums, and they will behave exactly as other Aperture projects and albums.
    Can I move the projects from iPhoto to aperture project by dragging (within the aperture program)? Is this making a duplicate of all the photos? It seems to work??  It then leaves my Iphoto library in apeture empty.
    You can drag images from any project in Aperture to other projects and that will move (not duplicate) the images and all its versions to that project. And when you drag all images from the project to another project, the remaining project will be empty and can be deleted.  (Caution: Photos that you have hidden in iPhoto will not be visible in Aperture. If you are not sure, if you have hidden photos, open the library again in iPhoto and unhide all photos).
      I feel that I may have doubles and would like all pictures of one year in same project in Aperture instead of going between both.
    There should be no problem with moving all photos from the same years to the same projects. You can also drag projects in "Projects" view on top of each other. That will merge them.
    You could also define smart albums in Aperture to search for images taken at a specific period of time:
    File > New > Smart album:
    Then, in the Smart Settings HUD, click "Add Rule" and add a Date or Calendar rule.
    For example, to find all images taken in 2010, use a rule "Date > Capture Year is > 2010"
    To search for Photos taken at a specific date or at several dates, use a "calendar" rule. This way, you do nat have to type the date, but can pick it from a mini calendar.

    Don't you just love changes in interfaces?
    I found the answer to my question.
    When you attach a device (iPhone, iPad) to your Mac, in iTunes 12 in appears as a tiny icon in the second "row" of the iTunes display. Click the icon and the familiar iTunes display for the device appears. From there, on the Summary screen, you can see the dates of the backups of the device (iCloud and backup to the computer). You can also use the button to backup to the computer.

    I am still on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and do not have iCloud in my System Preferences. I have registered with iCloud online and backed up my iphone5 last night to my iMac. Where can I find the backup on my iMac?
    Below is what comes up when I sign into iCloud - where are all the other applications that I need to backup?
    Appreciate any answers to this query?
    Rachel

    Your question is unclear.  If you're backing up to your iMac, (via iTunes, with cable or WiFi), this has nothing to do with iCloud and the backup is stored on your iMac here:
    : ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

  • I don't have very much space left on my iCloud backup. I had a previous iPhone, my current iPhone and my iPad that are all connected to one cloud. Can I delete the backup from my previous iPhone? Will it delete in the cloud AND on the phone?

    I had a previous iPhone, my current iPhone and my iPad that are all connected to one cloud. Can I delete the backup from my previous iPhone? Will it delete in the cloud AND on the phone? or does it just delete from iCloud? or does it just delete from the phone? Someone please help!

    You can delete the backup without any problem. Only the backup will be deleted from iCloud and nothing else will be deleted, so you can do it without worrying about losing data on iCloud or your devices

  • How can I use the photos from iphoto to display in contacts?

    Contacts has a space for a photo.  At one time I knew how to populate this space with photos from iPhoto. Currently my choices are to use an icon or take a pic with the camera.
    How can I add the photos from iPhoto to the choices for populating the "Contacts" image space for individual cards?

  • How can I find the index from a specific container?

    How can I find the index from a specific container?
    For example, if I'm traversing through textframes like so (an example, not tested):
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var story = doc.pages[0].textFrames[0].parentStory;
    for (var i=0, l=story.textContainers.length; i<l; i++) {
         var textFrame = story.textContainers[i];
         if (textFrame.constructor.name == "TextFrame") {
              var lastPara = textFrame.paragraphs.lastItem();        //How can I find the index of this in relation to the story?
    How can I find the index of "lastPara" in relation to the story rather than the current container?
    I tried:
    var newPara = story.paragraphs[lastPara.index];
    but this results in an invalid object. . .
    alert(newPara.isValid);      //returns false

    The .index property is the character offset. So lastPara will begin at story.characters[lastPara.index].

  • How can I get the photos from iPhoto copied to a disk in the order I want?

    How can I get the photos from iPhoto copied to a disk in the order I want??

    To ensure a custom ordering, sort the files in an album and rename the files with a sequentially numbered filename.
    File > Export > Version/Originals
    Then use "Filename > Sequential"
    or "Filename > Album name with index"

    where can i find the backup files stored on my mac?

    If you are asking about where iTunes stores backup files, see this knowledge base article for the info.
    If a general statement of backups, then then you have to look at each application to see where it saves according to its preferences window.

    right click on the folder that shows with the red negative sign, and select to "get info".  In the long skinny window that appears, look in the "sharing and permissions" section.  In the "name" column, you should see your current user name.  Ensure the "privilege" is set to Read and Write.  If your user name is not in the name column, click the + sign, and add it, ensuring the privileges are set to Read and Write
