Can't find the photos I think that I imported into iPhoto

I think I just imported photos from an SD card into iPhoto. I clicked the "Import" button, for several minutes it appeared they were importing, I removed the SD card, the photos seem to remain in iPhoto, but I can't find them on the hard drive anywhere. Where does iPhoto save the photos it imports?

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Can't find the photos anywhere, still they show up in iphoto

I moved the iphoto library to an extternal hard drive. It worked beautiful. While importing pictures from the camera, it placed them in a new "library" (which I didn't create).
I then unlogged from the hard drive to see what happened.
While no hard drive is connected to my computer pictures show up and I can mail them, manipulate them, etc, on iphoto. However, I cannot find them anywhere in my computer. I have tried via spotlight, and nothing shows up. I have searched for another iphoto library and there is nothing, and I can still see the pictures only via iphoto.
    Where are my pictures?

    Silverspoon:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you have keywords, comments and albums that you want to preserve in merging the two libraries try the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager. It will preserve those attributes when copying from one library to another.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • HT4858 My iPhone was stolen and I can't find the photos...

My iPhone was stolen and I can't find the photos I took with it of a certain day from last week, only from the day before and the day after. How can I retrieve them?

If they are not on your 'My Photo Stream, you only other option is try to restore an iOS device from a backup of your lost iPhone (either via iTunes or iCloud, where ever you were backing up to).  Obviously you will need ot inherit and iOS device to do this.

How do I turn on My Photo Stream?
After your devices are up-to-date and you have set up your iCloud account, it’s easy to turn on My Photo Stream on any of your devices:
iOS devices: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos (Photo Stream in iOS 6), then turn on My Photo Stream.
Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud, then select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream). Click the Options button and verify that the My Photo Stream checkbox is selected. Open the application you want to use with Photo Stream (iPhoto or Aperture) and confirm that My Photo Stream is turned on in that application. You can also adjust your My Photo Stream settings in iPhoto or Aperture Preferences.
PC: Open the iCloud Control Panel for Windows and select the checkbox for Photos (Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.x). You can click the Options button to verify that My Photo Stream is enabled and adjust the settings. Be sure to click Apply when done.

    Restore from an iCloud backup
If you have a new iOS device, or if you need to restore your iOS device to resolve an issue, follow these steps.
Follow the initial steps in the iOS Setup Assistant (select your language, and so on).
Select Restore from iCloud Backup when the assistant asks you to set up your iPhone (or other iOS device).
Select the backup you created earlier.
You can restore a backup only by using the iOS Setup Assistant.
If you've already set up your device, you can erase all current content to go through the iOS Setup Assistant again. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Do this only if you already have a backup, because this step will remove all current content from your device.
    Restore from an iTunes backup
If you have a new iOS device, or if you need to restore your device to resolve an issue, follow these steps:
Connect your iOS device to the computer that has your backup.
Make sure this computer has the latest version of iTunes.
Choose File > Devices > Restore from Back up.
If you're using iTunes 10.7 or earlier, right-click the device from the list and choose Restore from Backup.

Where can I find the System Mac 9 that would be in the (original release) factory shipped iMac's prior to 2010?
What are you refering to here? Mac OS 9 came out around 2001 ( or about ).  Mac OS 9 last run  in an emulation mode in 10.4.11 -- Tiger.  Mac OS 9 ran on PPC machines that were last produced before 2004 or so.
I think your conclusion you need Mac OS 9 is incorrect.
I'm missing key system data and cannot update to iPhoto app past 6.0.6; any advice will be helpful, thank you.
iPhoto '11, Mac OS X (10.6.8), need to upgrade system to 10.8
We need to verify some information.  Are you really running 10.6.8?  What hardware?
Here is how to find out what version of Mac OS you are running:
Click on the blue apple in the upper left hand of the screen.
    click on this icon
Click on the first line, "About This Mac"
Most of these are numbers & that's what we want.
What version & Processor do you have?

I can't find the photos after I have saved them from a text message, It says attachment saved, where do they go and how do I get there? Thanks

Here to help shed some additional light on this case, jdondr. I also own a Maxx. With your phone, if you access the Gallery, there should be a folder named: Messaging.  If you look at the upper left hand corner, you should see a drop down box. Is it currently set to Albums?

  • Where can we find the % of diamentions to that of fact table?

Where can we find the % of diamentions to that of fact table? To decide whether to make a diamention as Line Item.

    Hi,
To see the disk space used from an InfoCube you should see TCode DB02 and should sum all the involved tables (Detailed Analysis -> Object Name "<IC_NAME>"), so E, F and DIM tables.
You can use RSRV -> All Elementary Tests -> Database -> Database information about infoprovider tables to get the rows in the fact tables and dimension tables.
You can also use the program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS.
    Check this link:
Re: RSRV not showing number of records
I would rather advice you to relook at the design than go in for "line-item" dimension. You can go in for line-item dimesnion only if you feel the design is correct. The disadvantage of a line-tem dim is that you can have only 1 char in the dimension and you cannot revert back a line-item dim to a normal dim unless you empty the cube.
    Bye

New Pages is double spacing after enter again- can't find the area in inspector that allows you to change paragraph format...help?

The "new" Pages is missing just about everything.
Your best best is to go back to the old Pages (mavericks puts in in your applications folder in IWorks.
Apple told me that based on input from users they will add back some missing features back but I suspect that will take a long time if ever.
They (Apple) say they created a new Pages to make it work seamlessly on various devices.
But in doing so they've dumbed down the programs to where they're nearly useless.
Any new users who don't know what "old" Pages could do will probably be satisfied.
But those of us who use this program to do real publishing should send feed back to Apple.
Apple has decided that we are "heavy" users and not representative of the majority of their customers.
That's why I suspect that putting back the features in Pages will not be top priority.
But just in case they really do read the feedback send them your opinions and feature requirements and just maybe if enough people squawk they'll at least put the old Pages back in the App Store (it's gone now).
One possibility crossed my mind. If the new OS Yosemite can mirror devices, perhaps we'll be able to mirror the old pages on to our IOS devices than you could have the full capability of Pages and the connivence of an IPad or IPhone.
    Wouldn't that be awesome?
At least in the presentation, it looked like it could work, we'll see.

My IPAD was stolen in Cairo Egypt on Monday.I came home to Virginia without my IPAD..Is there away to find my photos that I took using my IPAD?...I do not know what was the set up to store the photos  and it that happen automatically?

I folowed your instruction for obtaining photo stream but there was no photos even thought I took lots of pictures during the last 30 days . I never had to recharge my IPAD during the last 30 days . Does that mean these photos never were uploaded to ICLOUD ?
In order for photos to be uploaded to iCloud your iPad has to be connected to wifi, have the camera app closed, and have at least 20% battery life remaining.  If those 3 conditions were not met, the photos would not have been uploaded.  If your new iPad is signed into the same iCloud account in Settings>iCloud and you have My Photo Stream turned on in Settings>iCloud>Photos, any photo stream photos that were added in the last 30 days will download to the My Photo Stream album inside the Photos app when it's connected to wifi.  If no photo stream photos download, there must not be any.
I checked ICOUD & I found out that my IPAD was storage 1.43GB of 5 GB was available but the last update date was 7/31/2012 . Why the IPAD quite the backup at that date ? Did this mean I ran out of storage capacity?
In order to back up to iCoud, the iPad must be connected to wifi, your charger and have the screen locked.  The best way to do this is to make sure it's connected to wifi when you go to bed at night, then connect it to your charger and lock the screen.  Then it will back up every 24 hours.  It's hard to say why your old iPad stopped backing up.  If it wasn't connected to wifi and your charger, that would explain it.  It's also possible that there was something corrupt in the backup which caused it to stop backing up.  It's always a good idea to check occasionally to be sure your backup is current.  If you go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, you can always see the last backup data/time at the very bottom under Back Up Now.
I purchased a new IPAD AIR and I was happy to download the available backed up photos into my new IPAD . Now I got a pop up message on my new IPAD that new photos are not being backed up , Why ?
Check Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, then tap the name of your new iPad under Backups at the top, and check the Backup Options to be sure Camera Roll is turned on.  That will ensure that your camera roll photos are included in your iCloud backup.

  • I recently installed vista to my mac (32bit)...my headphones are not working. I can't find the 3.5mm jack that apple suggests using. I have tried installing/unistalling several different audio drivers. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I recently installed vista to my mac (32bit). My headphones are not working on it. I could not find the "3.5mm jack" that apple suggests to "solve" this issue. And I have tried installing/uninstalling audio drivers. Can anyone help?

you don't need several drivers, you just need the audio driver for your Mac, which you didn't list, but would be Cirrus or RealTek.
Along with uninstalling programs, go to Dev Manager and uninstall driver, or even rollback driver.
some people have trouble installing or finding driver that will install.

I was trying to export my bookmarks to Safari and the instructions were to: Go to Bookmarks - select "Organize bookmarks" and "export to HTML". I can't find the "Organize bookmarks" tab on my tabs bar.
This came about because Firefox would not let me access my On Star account (kept getting error messages about a mis-direct).

Menu changes (wording), "Organize Bookmarks" under the Bookmarks menu has been changed to "Show All Bookmarks -- Ctrl+Shift+B" with the same keyboard shortcut. They didn't like the new wording either and it is expected to be changed in a later version (but no further changes seen yet in betas).
I always use the keyboard shortcuts anyway.
