Can't find the System spell checker custom dictionary
There's no /user/library/spelling.
Opened textedit and misspelled a few words.
Right click - Learn Spelling.
Red squigglies go away so it learned the word.
Looked for any file modified at this time and nothing shows up.
Where's the custom spelling dictionary?
Tried a different user and it's there.
And you've rebooted so we know it isn't like in a Cache?

What are you refering to here? Mac OS 9 came out around 2001 ( or about ). Mac OS 9 last run in an emulation mode in 10.4.11 -- Tiger. Mac OS 9 ran on PPC machines that were last produced before 2004 or so.

We need to verify some information. Are you really running 10.6.8? What hardware?
Here is how to find out what version of Mac OS you are running:
Click on the blue apple in the upper left hand of the screen.
click on this icon
Click on the first line, "About This Mac"
Most of these are numbers & that's what we want.

2 ways for accessing log:
1) browse portal filesystem : \usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\<server instance>\log\
2) use sap log applications
I suggest you to use logviewer or visual admin(it contains logviewer) applications. It will display formated logfile and you will be able to filter on severity / User Name / date / .......
if you are using visual admin, just connect with Visual Admin then browse to <server name> / services / log viewer then again <server name> \usr\sap\J2E\JC00
j2ee\cluster\server0\log and then click on defaultTrace.trc
it is pretty the same navigation when using logviewer

One remark about the RoboHelp generated code: When you upgrade your RH7 project to RH8/9, this bulleted list will no longer work correctly. (RoboHelp is to blame for that.) You may want to check out http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/lists/lists.htm which tells you how to refactor your pre RH8 lists to make them work in RH8/9. I think it's very worthwile to fix it now in RH7 to make sure you won't encounter any problems if you upgrade. Especially since you just created the list and can make it right without having to fix hundreds of topics.

Where can I find the files for my custom amp presets?
I've gone through and created a tonne of custom amp presets in Garageband that I would like to manually backup. Does anyone know where these files are kept by Garageband?
I have located the presets that come with Garageband in Library / Application Support / GarageBand / Instrument Library / Track Settings / Real / Guitar Track
I need to find where all my tweaked presets are saved!

your own Track Settings are kept in your User Library in your Home Folder:
/Users/your user name/Library/Application Support/GarageBand
If you are using MacOS X 10.7 or later, your user library is hidden; probably that is why you did not find the files.
To reveal your user library in the Finder use the Finder's "Go" menu: Click "Go" in the main Finder menu bar, then hold down the "Alt/Options" key ⌥, until "Library" appears in the drop-down menu. Click "Library" to reveal it in the Finder and select the "Applications Support" folder, then the "GarageBand" folder. This will contain all your custom Instruments.

When I change the input source from one keyboard to another (e.g. U.S. to German) I would like for the dictionary used by the system spell checker to automatically change to the corresponding language, but I can't seem to find a way to do this. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be grateful.

I have a bit of experience in UCCX 6.0 and just began to use UCCX 8.0. There's a question that where can I find the system default scripts and prompts in 8.0? In 6.0, I can find them in installing directory, but 8.0 is linux based so I can not do that in same way.
Thanks.You can Login to CLI with either root access or remote user access and get default scripts by going to
CD /opt/cisco/uccx/Scripts/system/default
At this point you have to connect to ftp server and move these default script to yoru FTP server.

We get paid with cheques and organise, specialised coloured aluminium. I can not rid my apple devices, mac book pro, desktop IMac or IPhone of the american spell checker.
Everything, Numbers and Pages et al, always default back to US English. To cap it all we sell luminaires (yes this is a word used in our world of lighting design everyday) Mac and Microsoft always default - my docs have more words underlined in red that not. I once found a permanent solution for Microsoft that removed US english - and then the laptop died. Can anyone rid me of this irritation.GOT IT FIXED! WOW!
I did better than filing a bug report. I went to Apple support, chose chat support. When it wanted $15 or was it $19 I filed an exemption which was a choice on the page, based on the fact that I recently upgraded to Yosemite.
Got the chat fellow and here we go!!!! ;-) First off he sent me this app so he could see my screen. Then he had me do a few things like move the system configuration folder to the desktop and repair permissions. Then he had me reset the SMC and Pram. Nothing helped, all the ghost computers still showed in the finder.
As a last resort he had me reset my Apple Airport Extreme. Wala! Ghost Computers GONE! He said it was a combination of stuff but mainly it was the airport extreme when I installed Yosemite. Something to do with my network. We'll see if it holds or if the problem comes back but as of now there's no more ghost computers in the sharing part of the finder.
Thanks to all who offered suggestions. I hope maybe this helps someone else.
