hi guys i have my HP laptop and i tried to connect lmy iphone using usb cable into it .. but then it doesn't workand said FAILED what tips can u advice ..also i see my device manager under other devices >iphone with an yellow exclamation point then i tried to updated that driver but it says access is denied .your help will be very much appreciated ..

    Hello ramziman,
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand the iPhone is not properly connecting to the computer. Please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Go to the Start menu (or Start screen), and type "services.msc" in the search bar (without the quotes). When it appears as an option, right-click and select "Run as administrator". Look for the "Apple Mobile Device" which should be near the top. Ensure it is "Started" and "Automatic". If it is, stop the service. Then, close all Apple programs (iTunes) and unplug the iPhone and any other Apple devices. Then, go back and start the service. At that point, open iTunes and then plug in the iPhone.
Please try this and let me know what happens.
    Have a wonderful day!

  • Can I detect USB cable unplugged for USB 6229

I am using a USB 6229 to control a moving machine. As a safety mechanism, I would like to be able to detect if the USB cable becomes unplugged and stop the machine.
I thought maybe I could use the Watchdog functions in DAQmx to achieve this, but I get an error which says that watchdogs are not supported on the 6229. Does anyone know if there is a way to detect the USB cable is unplugged on the 'machine' side of the 6229, please? I could build my own watchdog timer and control it using digital I/O lines, but I wondered if I was missing something obvious?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
I don't believe you'll be able to do set this up with your USB 6229. There aren't any safety features like watchdog timers on that device and I don't believe there's a signal or anything generated when the USB cable is unplugged. Your best bet would be to build your own watch dog timer or perhaps look at a DIO device with this functionality built in.

  • Can't pull usb cable out easily

I just got my iPad 2 and when I'm ready to disconnect it after charging, the usb is very hard to pull out of the iPad.  Is there some trick here?  I have an iPhone, so I know how it's supposed to work, I assume.

    Hi,
Gently squeeze the sides of the connector where it slides into the iPad. See if that makes a difference
It shouldn't be difficult to disconnect. You assume correctly
If that doesn't help, if you are in NYC, (going by you user name) make an appointment at a Genius Bar and let Apple take a look at it.

  • K1 USB Cable

Can anyone please help me find out where I can get another USB cable for the K1 (The one that comes packaged with the unit) It is not available on their retail website or lenovo spare parts website. I have tried calling customer service but they have NOT been helpful at all.. I either get transfered between three different departments everytime because they are not the right department for that.. then I get someone who sort of knows what I am asking for but cant help me.. then I get someone who has no clue what it is or about their own product so they always end with "It's to new of a product and not in our system" I am so tired of this run around!!
I misplaced mine and would like to get a replacement.. I am not asking for a free one I will gladly pay for it if it's reasonable. Someone, ANYONE please help, THANK YOU

I think he actually posts the pin-out further down (with the 12V mod) but I can't see the full image and zooming in on the thumbnail is illegible.
I tried to create an account to message him but the security code pic(captcha) is in cyrillic (which I don't have on my keyboard ).  Tried cutting and pasting letters from the wikipedia of cyrillic alphabet but it's still not accepting.

  • How can I tether my Blackberry over USB cable (to sync info)? [SOLVED]

Firstly, I have to thank all of you for making this such a great community and excellent guide to getting almost anything working on Linux - this is what makes Archlinux the best distro IMHO.  I have hardly ever needed to post anything here because the answers are almost always either in the wiki or the forums.
Lately though, I received a Blackberry 8310 and wanted to tether it to use its data plan here in Ecuador.  After following http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Blu … GPRS_Howto using a small USB bluetooth adaptor, this has worked well and the connection stays up nicely, though very slow (to be expected).  Blueman is a great program!  Looking at improving my connection speeds (and reducing my latency), I am now trying to get the phone tethered via a USB cable to the phone, rather than over-the-air (Bluetooth).
The problem I am having is that I cannot establish which device exactly is the USB port connecting to?  Before this phone, this worked fine on my Nokia E51 setting the modem to be /dev/ACM0.  On Nokia, I would connect the phone, select PCSuite mode and 'sudo wvdial movistar' or my /etc/ppp/peers/movistar script would work fine.  Blackberry however is a whole different kind of animal.  I connect it with a standard USB cable, select 'no' to mass-storage-mode on the phone, and can see it in lsusb fine but the only device I seem to be able to use is /dev/tty2 but modem not initialising.
How can I be certain which device I am using?  Will post some lsusb and dmesg.log out put when I get home to give you more info.
thanks for any guidance you can give me,

Well, haven't got much further here unfortunately, though I have more logs and debug information now:
First, I connect the blackberry to the USB port and run 'lsusb':
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
so I have my blackberry device listed by the looks of things..
I then run (for more info):

Maybe the blackberry required 'usb_modeswitch' - though I could not work out how to use this command
Any ideas out there?  Is there a simple way for me to probe USB devices in use?  As far as I can tell it IS /dev/tty2 but I need to confirm this.
    Many thanks,

  • When I plug my iPhone in to my computer with the usb cable that came with the phone the screen says, "Charging is not supported with this device".  How can I fix this?

When I use the same cable with the wall adapter it charges just fine.

LOL     My situation is the opposite.  plug my iPhone 3GS with USB cable and attach to mini adaptor (or whatever the small one is called) and it does not charge. Connect the same iPhone 3GS to my MacBook, using same cable, an charging takes place for iPhone.  Then,  connected the iPhone to the AC power with the large Apple AC  adaptor and it always charges. Seems to be the small adaptor and sometimes a third party automobile adapter.
At first I thought this might be because I was using third party USB cable, but now wonder about that since there are so many problems that others are having.
Having scoured the discussions, it appears no definitive answer has been given.  Am I wrong. Maybe I never found the answer to what is happening here.
if you can help, please reply to help all of us with the issue still - June 2011.

I'm new to this and I think I typed a long heading!
Anyway the issue is I have iTunes and just updated it to the latest. I also have various Apple devices however my iPhone won't sync with iTunes. When I connect it using the USB cable it does not appear in the top right corner as does other devices. The cable is fine as it charges and also my PC sees the device. However it does not appear in iTunes so I can't sync music to it.
I've searched the web but all asume iTunes can see the device.
    Help!?

  • After I went to iOS 7.0.3 can't use hotspot with usb cable

    Hello All
After upgrading to iOS 7 on my iphone 4 I can no longer use my personal hotspot with a usb cable (wifi connection works)
    When I go to system preferences>Network>Ethernet (Macbook Pro ...0S 10.6.8 )
It says "cable unplugged " but it is plugged because I can charge and transfer data using this cable
Here is what I've tried so far on my Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6.8 and my iphone 4
Tried a  different cable  ..... did not work
Made ethernet setting inactive and active again .. did not work
Deleted Ethernet setup and  and created it again .. did not work
Reset the iphone network settings twice did not work
    So what now ?
I don't like the iOS 7 its slower and I am having another problem too
    Thanks All

I am having the same problem. I have a normal iphone4 and when I upgraded to ios7, suddenly no one can hear me on calls. It works with speakerphone and on a headset, and I can play music normally. It has to be software, or else why would speakerphone work? My phone also functioned just fine before this upgrade and now my phone is useless as a phone.

  • Can I use the same USB cable for both the iPhone and the iPad?

Brnad new user of the iPad - can I use the same USB cable for both the iPhone and the iPad?  The iPad does not charge when plugged into the computer or the wall (110V) adapter.  I've been able to sync in iTunes using the same cable on both.

Actually, the iPad charger works just fine with iPhones and iPods.  The iPod/iPhone charger will charge an iPad very slowly but no harm will be done.

  • Screen showing USB cable...what's wrong?  Connections are fine.

We were setting up our apple tv and everything was working well.  Then we did a system update and moved the apple tv and suddenly on screen the USB cable icon appeared on the screen and we can't go any further.  All connections are fine.  What next?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.
Do not disconnect your Apple TV's power cable during the restore process.

  • Second hand PALM Z22. Can't get it to sync. Wrong USB cable???

    Hello all.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.  I received a Palm z22 second hand and would like to sync it for the first time.  However, I notice the USB cable it came with is not the original. Seems the original has some kind of button on it you're supposed to be able to press.  Can I make it sync with a regular USB cord?  Everything seems to work fine just can't get it to syn.
    Thanks.
    Rebecca

If the cable doesn't have a button try these steps
    1. Plug in and connect to your computer
    2. Launch the "Hotsync" application on the device
    3. Tap on the icon on the screen
This should then initiate a hotsync operation.
