Can't finish my iPhoto book

I have a beautiful book that seems to be done and I can put in all my ordering info and then after a long time it finally says that there is afaulty agent. What is this and how do I fix it?

Before you try to reorder the book make a PDF copy of it according to this Apple document: iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it. Use the pdf to preview the book, typos, etc, and then use it to compare to the hard copy of the book when you receive it from Apple to make sure it matches the pdf file.

how can i transfer an iphoto book created on one mac to another mac. i am aware of pdf saving but it doesn't help! need to see the iphoto book on other mac.
and how can i view in slide-show double pages instead of single pages?
    anybody has an idea?

    Stephan:
If you want to be able to view the book with iPhoto on the other Mac you'll have to copy the library containing the book to the other Mac. You won't be able to import that book into the other library.
Make a duplicate copy of the library containing the book and rename the folder "Book Library". Open it with iPhoto and delete all of the files that are not in the book. Then copy the Book Library folder to the other Mac and open. You can also burn the Book Library folder to a CD as a way to archive the book in case you decide to order another copy at a later date. I create a separate library for each book I create and order and archive it to CD when I've ordered.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

in the iPhoto preferences  change the print products country to the UK and give it a try - there may be some restirctions on billing but it has worked for some people

  • Can I send an iPhoto book to my parents as a PDF? I need their input before I order the ibook.

Can I send an iPhoto book to my parents as a PDF? I need their input before I order the ibook.

You can create a PDF preview of your book, see this link:
iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040
The PDF will be too large to email to your parents - copy it to a USB stick or burn it as CD or DVD and send it as a letter.  Or upload it to a server for download, your Dropbox, etc.

  • HT204655 How can I access a iPhoto book from time machine without it being modified by Photos?

When I updated to Yosemite I didn't realize the ramifications for iPhoto (silly me). When I migrated my iPhoto library to Photos I have somehow lost a couple of iBooks I had created. I have a number of older iPhoto books under projects, just not the most recent ones. I have checked my other libraries and they are not there. I realized that Apple might have the book in their system from the print order I made a few weeks ago, which they did. And I was able to reorder the book from my invoice for the last order and with help from some very nice Apple support people. However they cannot migrate the book back to me. So now I need to try and find it so I don't have to recreate it. I think it must be in Time Machine somewhere but I am afraid if I find it and try to reinstall it, Yosemite will do something with it. I have noticed when I opened another book that Yosemite said the format was no longer available and reformatted it to another template. Help.

So when I try to uodate iPhoto from my applications folder I am told to uplate IT from the App Store and when I go there I am told the updae is not available in Canada.
You can no longer buy iPhoto from the appStore anywhere, and also not update it from the "Updates" tab of the AppStore. You can reinstall it, if it is showing among your Purchases at the App Store and associated with your AppleID.
Sign into the AppStore look at the Purchases tab.  If you do not see iPhoto there, try to unhide your Purchases as described on this page:   Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support
If iPhoto shows on your Purchases tab, reinstall as described in this User Tip:
Get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS... | Apple Support Communities
The main idea is to move the iPhoto app to the Trash, so Spotlight does not see it as installed, reload the AppStore, and then to try to download again from the App Store - from your Purchases tab, not from the main page, since you can neither buy iPhoto nor update it, but you can reinstall, if your AppleID is associated with it.
You may need to unhide your Purchases, if you do not see iPhoto on the Purchases page when you sign into the AppStore with your AppleID:
See this link:  Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support

  • Can I make an iPhoto book that is only 10 pages long?

I want to make a hardcover iPhoto book, but only have 15 photos to go into the book, so 20 pages is too many pages. Can anyone advise? Does iPhoto let you make a book that is less than 20 pages or do you have to fill that whole 20 pages in order to make the book? Thx

You don't have to fill those extra pages. Pick a blank page layout but not the all gray layout. That requires a photo for the background and you can't order the book unless it's been filled with a photo. Most of the themes have a layout that is essentially blank. Some, however, have the theme's colors which might not look good as a filler page.
If you have such a theme you can select a page with a photo background and use a blank, white image file to make that page a blank, white page or whatever you would like on the page. Create the page, landscape, in a text editor or other applications and use the Print->PDF->Save PDF to iPhoto menu option. This will create a jpg image file of that page and it's layout and import it into iPhoto where you can add it to the book.

  • Can I ship an iPhoto Book from Australia to China?

I have made an iPhoto book for my friends in China, detailing the good times we had over the years.
Can I order it and give the address in China, in Chinese?
It seems a waste to have it mailed to me and then for me to mail it again.

    That option is not available.

  • Can I send an iphoto book to someone else's computer?

Greetings! I am so frustrated! I have created an iphoto book for a student and purchased copies of the book online. No problem. The problem, now, however, is that he would like the techno version of his book. Makes sense to me. Perhaps he'd like to modify it, or whatever. But I cannot figure out how to send it to him. The only thing I can do is purchase it (which I've already done). Any help with this would be oh so gratefully received.
    Wendy

Well, thanks so much all of you!  I'm so computer illiterate that I guess I'll need to find an in-person  mac expert to help, if help is to be had. After all of your advice, I  have tried 'printing' as a pdf. What I actually tried was emailing as a  pdf. No go. File WAY too big. I tried 'printing' as a pdf and saving to a  flash drive. I THOUGHT that would maybe work, but it didn't.
This  is a tricky one since my student is international. We did the book in  southern Africa, he is currently living in the States, and I am  currently living in Canada. On my mac, which is where the book is in  iphoto, I can ONLY buy the book if I send it to a Canadian address. I  DID buy the book--several copies thereof--and had it sent to my Canadian  address and distributed it from there. No, however, this student would  like access to the iphoto file. Wow! I had no idea this would end up  being so difficult. Next time I create such a photo book I will try to  find another way to do it that is more flexible. I haven't tried  Shutterfly, etc...
But, BOTTOM LINE, thank you so much to all of you who tried to help me out!
    Cheers, Wendy

  • Can I share my iPhoto book?

I created an Iphoto book for my twins' 12th birthday and ordered copies for each; however, my parents and other family members may want to view or order copies. . Any way I can share it with them on-line?

Create a PDF file of the book as follows:
1 - in the book mode type Command+P.  In the print window click on the PDF button and select Save as  PDF from the menu.
2- email the PDF file to those who might want to order a copy.
Another way to share the book is to create an iDVD video slideshow of it according to this tutorial: iP05 - Creating an iDVD Slideshow From an iPhoto Book and burn DVD video discs to distribute.  I do it with all the books I give away as gifts.  Lets the receipient view the book (with music) on their TV set rather than thumbing thru the book with family members.

  • Upgraded hard drive, can't find old iPhoto books

I upgraded the hardrive in my old iMac and my OS was upgraded at the same time. I'd produced 3 books in iPhoto and they no longer appear, even though all the data was transfered from the old HD. I assume that the new version of iPhoto has lost the Books, although all the photos are there.
My question is - can I retrieve these old books in any way?

I too have "lost books" in moving from one computer to another in a different location. Thanks to this post I've "found" them in the database but my question is how to restore them so that they are visible in iPhoto and therefore available for reprints?
This makes no sense - books do not exist except in the database and the only way to see them is using the database access program - iPhoto - so if you can see them you are seeing them in iPhoto - you can not see them "in the database" any other way

  • How can I copy an iPhoto book from one Mac to another?

I'm wanting to copy an iPhoto book from one MBP (OS 10.7.3) to another (10.8.3). Is there an easy way to do it?

You will have to copy the entire iPhoto Library to the other Mac as the library is a virtual entity in the library recorece in the database files.
Once it's been copied launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the libary in the window that appears.  I
NOTE:  if the new Mac has  newer iPhoto version than the old Mac check to make sure it has the same theme that you used in the book.  There were some changes in themes from iPhoto 8 (09) to iPhoto 9 (11).  If your new iPhoto doesn't have the same theme you may want to complete the book on the old Mac.

  • Can someone help? Iphoto book problem

I am not very tecnical so any advice would be greatly appreciated.  just finished a 32 page book in iphoto. Pressed buy etc. It assembled fine but it seems to be frozen on the upload. No error messages but it's been almost 3 hours and still not finished.

Music or very extensive artwork take longer that pictures or jpg files. Which is what a picture is. 125 photo's should not take that long. You just might have to call apple to see what they can do. Once you stop the download, you get nothing. Since you bought it from them, they will help you. Call 1-800-692-7753. That is the sales department. They can help or direct your call to someone who will. If you have you sales order number that helps.

  • Can I move an iPhoto book to another iPhoto library  (which contain the photo's used for the book)

I have imported a lot of photos from a travel from friends in my iPhoto library. I created and ordered a beautiful book for them, but I do want to get rid of all the photo;s from my library. So I have used iPhoto Library Manager to create a library for all these photos. Unfortunately it did not copy the book itself. So I still cannot delete all the photos from my main library.
Is there a way to copy the photo book (it was a lot of work) to the new library or save it in any other way so I can delete their photos from my main library?

    no
Books are just databae entries and can not be moved independently - you can ony move the entire library - you can make a smaller library containing only the book for ease of moving and archiving - see Old Toad's Tutorial #9

  • Can I send an iPhoto book I've made in iPhoto 6 to my new laptop so I can print it?

    Urgent help needed!
I'm making my boyfriend a book for our anniversary, but I had to do it on my home computer that has iPhoto 6 because my laptop was being serviced. It won't let me order the book from iPhoto 6, and when I tried to upgrade iPhoto, it said I had to upgrade my desktop. I need to order this VERY soon and I would like to avoid upgrading my desktop if I can!
Is there any way I can send the book project to my laptop and order it from there? I really don't want to have to do the whole thing over again...
    Thanks for your help!

Copy your iPhoto Library to your laptop; best drag it to on an external disk and then connect the drive to your laptop. Double-click the copied iPhoto library to open it in iPhoto on your laptop. The laptop should now start to upgrade the libary to the current version.
Preview the resulting book carefully. Changing iPhoto versions may change the layout of he book because some themes have been upgraded to.
After your book has been ordered, you can switch back to your current library by double clicking it to open or launch iPhoto with the ⌥-key held down.
