Can't finmd Photo message
Hi,
In the recent past I've had to move iPhoto several times. First, I moved it to my new hard drive. Then I moved it back to my MC HD so i could properly format the new HD, then, back to it. Now, I keep getting CAN'T FIND ORIGINAL PHOTO messages. This is really dumb, since a quick use of Spotlight turns it right up in iPhoto originals where it should be. Since I'm not talking about this happening once or twice, I'm wondering if I ought start all over again: export all my photos, and start from scratch? Or, is there an easier way?

When you say you had to move iPhoto are you referring to the application or the iPhoto Library folder? Also are you running iPhoto in it's alias mode, i.e. not copying the files into the library when importing? Does your iPhoto Advanced preference section look like this? Additionally, does the message refer to photos in the library or the library itself when iPhoto launches?
If it's the latter, try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, from your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - launch iPhoto with the option key depressed and, when asked, select the option to locate your library and navigate to where it is and select the folder.
See if that will keep the library linked to the application.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. I saved my photos to iPhoto & iPhoto Library. I made some albums, arranged them.
I clicked the pictures on the Photos & in the albums, then i see "Can't find photo".
Even though, i tried to see them in Photos besides the new albums.
I still can't find the original photos.
I imported all my photos to my iMac 21" decktop.
I had no problems before with this.
I tried to share my photos through email & facebook, to few people.
Only couple of them recieved them. I don't want to have this problem no more.
Can anyone help me?

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

Like the title states, I use to be able to go to a text message and click the little camera image to the left of the text box and select or take a photo, now that option is gone. I tried going to my photo library and click on the options button to send as mms but I only have a print option, email, assign as contact ID or use as wallpaper.... No mms option.
Where and how do I send photos in a text message again. Seems like we're back to square one again.I still haven't gotten this issue resolved. I have the last generation 3GS if that helps. I updated the phone about a week or ago and I can't send or receive media texts. I had this option before I downloaded the update and now I can't send or receive media. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't open photo message online. (More details see below).
I received a text stating I had a T-Mobile photo/video message to pick up wtihin 7 days. (The person who supposedly sent it told me they hadn't sent me anything recently). However, I then received another text stating the messge couldn't be delivered and a notification on how to view the message would follow shortly and I was given a password. I then received another text later that day repeating the first message from the person in question saying "I have sent you a T-Mobile photo/video message" and where to pick it up. I have tried a few times with the code but it isn't it is invalid. Anyone help or come across this before? I am not very savvy tecchy wise with phones etc but I know I typed in the correct code. Could it be scam messages or an error perhaps? Any help gratefully received.

Thanks for posting, this would normally be sent if you have not fully activated your picture messaging service by sending your first picture message, by sending your first picture message it lets our systems know that you are ready to send and receive picture messages.
If you are unable to view the picture from the message you have been sent, you may want to call through on 150 to allow our technical team to take a look in that further for you.

i can not send photo message from my iPhone 5s. MMS, cellular is on but I can not send photo. I even reset my iPhone as new but it still does not working. Please, can someone help me?

Error message when compiling book "file is corrupt" referring to a photo. Or "cannot find original photo". Can you use photos that have been "edited" out of "Book Mode"?
I did copy it to my desktop, but it still won't let me open it. I think the file on the disc might be corrupt or something like that though the cd itself checks out fine as far as viruses go. I was able to verify the disc, but that's about it. My husband tried it on his iMac and we have the same issue. It's unzipping the folder, but won't let us open the folder on both the Mac Book Pro or the iMac by double clicking, going to file/open or right clicking. It just keeps saying the same message as I posted above. I think I'm just going to have the client put the pictures on either a memory card or a USB memory stick so she won't have to compress the files for zipping purposes. It's been too frustrating trying to open this folder on this cd she gave me. She said she created/zipped the cd on her Mac Book Pro but it sure won't open on mine.

I have upgraded to Yosemite and also updated the iPhoto application to version 9.6. I am no longer able to send a photo from iPhoto via email. I get an error message saying the server is not responding. But, when using the same server in Mail, I can attach the photo and send it. My wife is using the older version of iPhoto and it works fine.
I have checked the settings for the outgoing server, etc. and the Mail settings match those in iPhoto.
Could this be due to either the Yosemite upgrade or the iPhoto upgrade?This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:

Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).

I can use Mail at home, no problem. But when I travel, I can receive mail but not send it. I get a "server can't be reached" message. Yet when I send a photo using iPhoto, it gets sent. Help!!

I can't send photos to my friend it says "Not Delivered" my MMS Messaging is on , my Cecullar data is on , i reset the network settings and still my photo did'nt sent.
It is peculiar, that Chrome, Safari, and Skype can access FB, but not the iPhoto uploader.
Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:

I keep getting the message MobileMe has been discontinued - iPhoto willmove albums you have published to MobileMe Gallery. . . but I have not knowingly published any photos to MobileMe. How can I get this message to stop. It's getting annoying.
Also, how can I remove duplicate photos in an album without doing it manually?
Thanks!When the prompt pops up next time you start iPhoto select Learn more. Then click on iPhoto preferences and select the Accounts tab. Delete your MM account and the quit iPhoto. Next time you open iPhoto the problem should be eliminated.

Can't email photos directly from iPhoto (MBPro 2012) running OS 10.9.4 I deleted the email & passwords in the iPhoto Preferences since I was given an error message that my email and password didn't match???? reinstalled them and tried again with no luck I have done it before without any problem, does anyone know what's going on?

Since the new Photo download, I can't import photos from my Kodak C813. I get an "unreadable file" message. What to do?
See if Image Capture will let you upload the photos from the camera to a folder on the Desktop. If it will then check the photos by opening them up with Preview to make sure all of them are good. Then import the folder into Photos.
If that goes OK reformat the memory card in the camera, take some test shots and see if Photo will import. -
certain events in iPhoto will not sync to my iPad. No Error messages comes up and the photos themselves are ok. its like my ipad doesn't see them. Cause i can get some photos on there just not all. Photos are from the same camera and should all be in the same format.
What is the file name of the video(s) you want to sync?
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

I can't send photos through iChat/Messages?
Hello! I have a MacBook Pro and I can't seem to send photos through iChat to my friends. I am able to receive photos, though. I can drag a photo into the message box and I can click send and it looks as if I've successfully sent the photo. However, after a few seconds, the message bubble becomes blank and a picture is no longer there and my friend tells me she can't see anything. I've updated to Mountain Lion but I still can't send photos through Messages. Does anyone have any idea why? Thank you in advance!

The Messages app in Mountain Lion is a fusion of iChat (which uses AIM Screen Names and Jabber IDs to create Buddy Lists) and iMessages from the iOS side of things.
iMessages can be sent if you register your Apple ID for iMessages when opening Messages for the first time.
The same Apple ID is then used on your iOS devices (iPads, iPhones and some iPod Touch devices) so that you can sync the conversations you are having.
iChat is /was an app in Lion and earlier Mac OS version that could join the AIM or Jabber Service (And the Yahoo service in iChat 6 in Lion).
In those versions Buddy List were displayed by default.
In Messages the default is to display any Non iMessage Accounts (Seen in Messages Menu > Preferences > Accounts.) as one list, which can be brought to the front by the Keystrokes CMD + 1 keys together (See Window Menu)
You can separate the Buddy lists by going to Message Menu > Preferences > General section and unticking the items that say about gathering accounts into one list.

As you can see I have an Account callled Google talk (And another that logs in to Jabber.me)
The Names shown here are what you enter in to the Description field in Messages menu > Preferences > Accounts.
If you enter nothing and have one account that logs in to AIM and another that logs in to Google the Account Buddy List window will get titled "AIM Buddy List" and Jabber Buddy List as Google run a Jabber server.
If you have more, like I do, of both sorts then they take on the Screen Name or ID of the account if you don't fill in the Description field.
(The Partially Blocked out one is doing this as it is an AIM registered Name)
If your Apple ID happens to be your Google Mail ID and you have set it up for iMessages it also needs setting up for the "iChat" Google Talk side (it may be already there if updating from Lion)
However you cannot send iMessages to your Google Buddies or vice versa - sending IMs from your Google Buddy list to Contact's Apple IDs
So make sure the Messages window is saying you are using iMessages if talking to Contacts or your IM account type (or name/ID) if using Buddy lists.
If your Apple ID can also be used with the AIM or Jabber services then double check what you have set up in Messages > Preferences > Accounts and which you ware using.

Can't send photo stream messages on whatsapp
Hi,
I can't send 'photo stream' photos on whatsapp however I'm able to send ones from the 'Camera Roll' I've double checked everything and in privacy and restrictions everything seems normal.
I've recently updated to the latest iOS.
Any ideas?
