Can't forward messages to external address - it's impossible to choose e-mail from list

Hello colleagues! Faced with a strange problem... I have Exchange 2010 SP2, need to forward mail from domain recipient to mail contact (I mean - external e-mail address). So I created this external contact in "Recipient configuration->Mail contact" but
when I'm trying to select external address from list I see nothing in "forward to" field. I can choose domain recipients only. Does anybody know what is the problem?

Just curious, why do you need Mail Contact when it's External user. Simply specify email address of the user in
Forward To:
Go to properties of Mail Contact... Mail Flow Settings...Message Delivery Restrictions..Make sure that "Requires that all senders are authenticated" is not checked.
I'm trying to select external address from list I see nothing in "forward to" field.

How can I forward to an external URL from within a DataAction?

This is a very simple question I'd guess -- but what I thought was the obvious answer turned out not to be. Keep in mind I am using struts, and the URL is constructed dynamically, so I cannot place a struts forward action in the struts-config.xml file. Here is what I tried from within my DataAction's prepareModel() method:
actionContext.setActionForward(newURL);
actionContext.setRedirect(true);
This didn't work -- nothing happened. Anyone have any ideas?

In our application, we had a forward named Cancel, but for it to work properly we wanted a Redirect to occur to another page. The redirect was not working until we created a new actionforward and set th action forward to it as seen below. You can't programmatically change the forwards at runtime without error, from what I remember.

Can u mark messages as "read" in iPhone after reading them in apple mail?

As the title says. I'd like to find a way to have all my emails marked as "read" in my iphone mail after I've read them in my apple mail or vice versa. I belong to an email mailing list that I receive about 30 emails every day on that I'd like to not show up in my iphone but they're sent to my main account that I have linked to my iphone. Aside from just that email blast. I'd like to not have to go in and automatically delete or open then back out of all the emails that I've already read. And I dont want to delete them cause most of them I need.
Any help?

Got it, I did have to disable POP because my Gmail account in my apple mail was set up as a POP mail. I then had to create a new account with the same email address and it set itself up as an IMAP account. Was super easy. Now I have all sorts of folders for it too even. Only problem is, I cant rename the mailbox for some reason.
Anyone have any bright ideas on that? I want to rename the mailbox in my apple mail. Right now its just called "gmail"

Why can't I choose Apple Mail from Lightroom 4 Email Account Manager

I know that the built-in emailer in Lightroom is pretty half-baked but I'm having trouble even getting limited functionality out of it. While many people report you can send an email and leave the "From:" menu blank and that will take you to Apple Mail if you select it from the Email Account Manager. But I never get that option. All of my options are webmail: Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, Other... No matter what I do Apple Mail is never an option. Truth be told, what I'd really like is to find a way to automatically attach the image to a Gmail webmail session in Safari or Chrome so I could have use of my address book but that seems like a pipe dream. I'll settle for Apple Mail. Can anyone help?
Secondly, one of the other problems I have with the built in emailer is that Groups in the address book don't work at all for me. I've taken the time to input a bunch of addresses and then add them to a group. But I can find no conceivable way to automatically put that group in the To: field. It never comes up on autofill, can't drag it, nothing. I just have to manually type the addresses.

Apple Mail only appears if it's your default email client on the computer. For example, I have my default set to Postbox so Apple Mail never appears. It would appear in this pop-up:

I can reproduce the issue with the groups and I'll get that bugged, thanks. (There should be a checkmark in that Address Book dialog to allow you to check the whole group.

Email sent to your @me.com address doesn't need to be forwarded. It will arrive in the same inbox as your @icloud.com address. To forward email from other accounts to this address you will have to go the the webmail site for these accounts and set up email forwarding.

Can't move message to a newly created mailbox

I just created a new mailbox in Mail. The mailbox shows up in Mail, in MobleMe, and on my Iphone.
In Mail, when I try to move a message to the new mailbox, i get the following error "message could not be moved to the mailbox “(null)”
Now, when I go to MobileMe or the Iphone, I can move the message. But no luck when I try it in Mail
Never had an issue until now. No software updates lately.
I'm new to the Mac.. Any ideas ?

The problem seems to have disappeared! I was trying to move an incoming message from the inbox to another box by drag and drop and an error message said I couldn't do that. It was one particular message but now it seems to be working. Thanks for the interest.

Applescript for mail error can't get message id

I have an applescript (found on internet) for Mail 4.5 that deletes messages in "on my mac" mailbox "Deleted Inbox" that are older than 120 days. The script runs from an iCal daily event. I drag messages from Inbox to "Deleted Inbox" when I don't want the message in Inbox, but I want to save the message for 120 days before deleting it. The script sometimes runs successfully, and sometimes gives error "Mail got an error: Can't get message id xxx of mailbox "Deleted Inbox"". Then in Mail, I "Mailbox / Rebuild" that mailbox, and run the script manually without error. How can I avoid that error? The script is essentially:

          set OldStuff to every message of mailbox TheBox where date received of it < OldDate
          repeat with ThisMessage in OldStuff
delete ThisMessage
          end repeat
end tell

I don't actually know how you can avoid that error. However, maybe you can use a workaround and have the script rebuild the mailboxes automatically when such an error occurs. Try the following code:

Not receiving mails from certain email addresses

I am sending & receiving the majority or my mails without any problems but there are a few email address from which I am being sent mails that I am not receiving. They are not being notified that I am not receiving the mails either.
Could they be blocked on Mobile me? How can I unblock these addresses and retrieve the mail?

Yep, that's very typcial of mail from lists...
In Outlook open the message, click on File/Properties, and you'll see a box labled "Internet Headers". I usually copy that out and paste it to Notepad to make it easier to read...
You'll find that there are different addresses in the vairous headers.
This is NORMAL for some types of list mail.

i have a number of .mac email aliases set up on my email account, for instance for signing up to websites. when i send e-mail on my mac, i can select which alias i want the e-mail to be sent from. however, i don't seem to have that option on my ipod touch - mail is automatically sent from my main mac.com e-mail address.
is there anyway to send e-mail from one of my .mac aliases on my ipod touch?

Can you recover mail from deleted account?

Using Mail 2.0.5, I kept getting a message that port 25 was blocked, and couldn't receive mail from that account. I didn't think to check .mac for solution, but created a new mail account under a different name, with the same settings. When it worked, I deleted the original account...but didn't realize I'd lose all the mail associated with it in my mail program. Thought it would be stored someplace, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there any way to recover mail from a deleted Mail account?

Never did find a solution to this. However because we are using IMAP accounts most of the mail was cached on the client Macs. So I offlined them, loaded Mail, copied all the mail into local mailboxes, recreated the users, went online and copied the mail back into the new hierarchy.
Still can't believe I did such a daft thing!

You can't delete the address, but you can set up a Rule to move messages to that address to the Trash or another folder. Go to http://icloud.com and go to the Mail page, click the cogwheel icon at top right and choose 'Rules'.
It's a bad idea to post your email address - it's an invitation to spam - even though in fact you haven't posted them in full; I've asked the hosts to remove them.
