Can't found source system after successfully created in RSA1

I'm afraid that my orignal post will drown..
I put here for the new quesiton of my new upcoming issue
Background:
We are doing the ECC system refresh (ECC PRD to QAS)
ECC QAS has connection with BW QAS
The next step is to restore the Q23(ECC) source system in QBW RSA1
it is somehow missing, so i try to create it
I created it by clicking on the icon of "SAP" then it will pop up a "create" tab It takes me quite a long time around half an hour. Finally it shown in the end of RSA1 screen , Q23CLNT0** source system is created successfully.
BUT the strange thing is i refresh the RSA1 screen , i can't not find the Q23 apears in the folder of SAP!!!
And i try to recreate , it shows in the end " Q23CLNT0** "already exist (see attached), how could it be , can anyone come to help? thank you! Best regards,kate

Check in BW tab , it may be mistaken created there .
if it is so, delete it and recreate in SAP tab.

Why CreateNewFrame() returns as NULL after successful created 136 child frame window and trying to create 137th child frame window in MDI application

I am working on MDI application which was developed in VC++ in VS 2012. When my application is launched, it will display a Tree. Under a tree there are 254 nodes. Basically
these nodes data are read from Configuration xml file and loaded into the Tree. By double clicking on each node, first it will create object for document class ( By calling CreateNewDocument() method) after that member variables for that
document class will be initialized and then it will create the new frame window (by calling
CreateNewFrame(pDoc,NULL). New child frame window will show under Main window to the user.
User able to see the data from child frame window.
Similarly by double clicking on each node it will create another object for the same document class and new child frame window will be opened for that node. Each child frame window runs
in different data and showed under the Main window.
Existing requirement by double clicking on each node, node data shall show in separate child window and there is no requirement for all 254 child windows opened simultaneously.
But current requirement is , all 254 child windows shall open simultaneously by double clicking on each node one by one.
In debug mode I have tried double clicking on each node. I able to open up to 50 nodes. After 50th child windows are opened, I unable to access to the application
(Unable to open further node data window since application is getting hanged).
Each child window is having tree, multiple splitter window and some additional controls (static text, ...).
Same I have tried in release mode, I able to open up to 136 child windows. After that the application fail to create the new frame window in VS 2012. i.e CreateNewFrame() return
NULL after successful created 136 child frame window. Debug purpose I have added the code to retrieve last error code by calling GetLastError() method. I got the value as "0". By closing any existing child window then I able to open remaining nodes.
At any point of time I can reach maximum of 136 child frame window that can be opened under Main window. Failing to open all 254 child frame window
simultaneously, currently I fail to meet the current requirement.
current Requirement is all 254 child frame window are opened simultaneously. Please let me know what may be the reason fail to create new frame window after 136 frame window that are
opened already. In Microsoft site, mentioned that there is no limitation for creating frame window in MDI application. I have tried another sample MDI application having limited number of controls, in which I able to create "n"
number of child frame windows. why not able to create more than 136 child frame window in my actual application?
Is there any possibility by changing project settings allow me to create 254 child frame window??

Hi MuruganK,
Have you checked how much memory your application used? You could check it by Task Manager. Maybe your application reach Memory Limits for Windows.

Is it possible that there are some memory leaks in your application? It would better if you have made a simple sample to reproduce and narrow down this issue.

Test System (BQ1) Objects showing up wrong Source System after Transport.

Hi Experts,
We are working on IS-U BI7.0 Project. We have finished with our Development and have transported the DataSources, Transformations and DTPs from Development (BD1) into Test (BQ1) Systems.
We have entered values in the Conversion of Logical Source Systems correctly.
When we select the DataSource and Click Object Directory Entry from the Extras Menu, we found that the Original Source System is defined as BQ1 instead of BD1 (Development System), which is where the Object is getting Transported from.
We have implemented an SAP Note:1008633 (Incorrect Source System after Transport (RSTRAN 514) but couldn't resolve the issue.
We basically want all the Objects in the BQ1 (Test System) showing the Original Source System as BD1 (Development System) but only the DataSources and it's connected Transformations and DTPs are originating from the BQ1 (Test) System itself (The Transformations when Transported from BD1 to BQ1 are Transported with a different Technical Name which is very strange).
Had anyone faced similar problem and if so, what was the effective solution implemented.
Any help in this regard is very much appreciated.

Please! can anyone tell me if after I create a site with adobe muse, is there anyway for my client to edit and update text and to a lesser extent images on the website?
I don't care if the client text/image editing and updating doesn't update in my Adobe Muse, as long as my client can update the text online.
Please help me answer this question, I have used adobe for decades (2) and am a print designer. I want to use Muse for websites but if my clients can't update text and images, I don't see how I can make it work.
If I have to use Business Catalist too; I don't care. I just want to be able to use this great software.
Sorry if I soud desperate but I'm holding on starting a website for a new client and need to get this answered first.

At the moment you can't using Muse's widgets, though you can insert html! So, you could have photo galleries linked to flickr that the client can update to, for example. I'm sure there are other options for slicker slideshows that can be updated client side!

Reconnect R/3 source system after BW systemcopy ?

We want to copy our BW 3.0b development system as a BW sandbox system in order to try out the BW 3.5 migration.
Therefore, we performed a system copy of our BW DEV system to a new machine. On the BW-side we ran BDLS to get a new logical name for the system and defined a RFC connection to our R/3 Dev Source System (incl. appropriate RFC users).
On the R/3 side we also defined an additional RFC connection to the "new - just copied" BW-system.
While trying to reconnect our R/3 Devopment source system within the new BW we encountered the problem that the R/3 system recognized that there already exists a connection to a BW (the old BW dev). If we take this option, the old connection is deleted and a new one is defined. However, from the R/3 perspective we want two BWs connected. It seems the problem has to do with the IDOCs and TRFC port definitions, because the IDOC type ZRSBW010 seems to point to the wrong system.
Unfortunately, we are stuck at the moment.
Any kind of help or hints to relevant SAP documents would be much appreciated.
In the OSS we found some notes on this topic (325525 etc.) but we still not sure how to proceed.
However, in general, we think it shouldn't be a problem to have one R/3 connected to several BW's or is it?

It is possible to connect a copy of your BW dev. system to the same R/3 system. The problem you are experiencing is related to the connection ID from table RSABASIDOC. This is a unique ID in your system (normally the first two characters of your source system name). Tis ID is in RSBASIDOC in yuor BW and R/3 system. When you copy your BW and try to connect it to your R/3 system again, you will get the conflict you already noticed.
The solution is to run SE37 --> RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT in your new BW system (make a screen shot first of the RSBASIDOC entry!). This will be cleared by the function module. You will notice that the source system is not visible anymore is RSA1. However all the transfer rules etc. are still there (invisible). This would not be the case when you are doing a remove source system in RSA1 as suggested. Now you can create the source system again via the normal way. Use exactly the same name for the source system mas you made it via the BDLS. During this process the BW and R/3 systems are "negociating" a new unique connection ID for this BW-R/3 connection. This creation of the source system will also make all the related info visible again (like transfer rules).
Note in general: If you get a screen saying the connection ID is already used, ALWAYS choose DO NOT DELETE. After chosing DELETE there is no way of solving the issue other then restoring the system from backup! In this case you would delete everything in your R/3 system regarding the original BW system! When you get the message, check RSBASIDOC in both systems as there will be a conflict.

Can't recover my system after a hard drive crash.

My hp DV6-3123tx's hard drive crashed because of a collision
Steps i did:
Got a new hard drive and fit it in.
Using recovery DVDs tried to format it.
Everything was good but when the system reboots to install drivers it just gets stuck at the starting page (on which hp is written). I waited for hours together but it doesn't recover from that state
P.S: I had removed CMOS too after my hard drive crashed but restored and saved it's default settings in BIOS before the above mentioned steps.

Assuming this is just a problem with the recovery media, here's an alternative option you could try.
Before trying the following, make sure you can still read the 25 Character Product Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
An example of a COA Label can be seen Here.
You can create an installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the correct Disc Image ( this must be the exact same version that originally came with your notebook ) from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

Hi Ravi,
Log into your QA system. Go to RSA1 -
> Transport connection. Click on the icon Source system conversion or just press F8. Click on new entries in the next screen. Here just maintain the source system conversion. For example in Dev if the R/3 source system name is R3DEVCLNT100 and in QA it is R3QACLNT200 then in the original source system field enter R3DEVCLNT100 and in the target source system field enter R3QACLNT200. All the source system dependent objects like datasources, transformations etc which are assigned to R/3 dev system in BW Dev will be assigned to R/3 QA system in BW QA.
Similarly maintain entries for all other source systems defined in BI. Hope this helps.

Deletion of source system after an upgrade : consequences ?

I'm a sap basis guy.
We have a SAP BI 701 sytem mapped to our 4.7 Non Unicode source system.
I have now perfromed the unicode migration and upgrade to ECC6 of the source system on another server.
It means now, that I have two sourtce systems with exactly the same SID, and logical name.
Sicne the BI connexion in RSA1, is based on the logical system name , I have no ther choice than delete the old
source system, and recreate it with the same logical name but different connexion parameters (hosts, ...) and differentversion (
I have talked with the BI team, but thnigs are quite unclear about the consequences of deleting a source system in RSA :
Do all Transformations/ Transfer Rules between DataSources and targets are deleted ?
Does it mean that they have to be manually recreated after the new source system has been recreated ?
Is there any workaround ?

If you do not save the source system dependent objects to a transport request before you delete the connection then the objects will be lost , you can avoid this by saving the objects to a transport request and then release the transport before you delete the connection and import it in the new system, the steps in general are below:
RSA1
Transport Connection
Button 'Collection mode' set to 'start manual collection'
Press 'Source system assignment' button (it's the one left of the
'Request BEx' button)
Select the source systems you want to save the transfer rules for
Continue
Button 'Grouping' set to 'Save for system copy'
At the left border click on 'Object Types'
Extend tree 'Source system' LSYS
Double click on 'Select objects'
Select the source systems you want to collect objects for
the source system is now displayed in the right box
Press collecting button ('gather dependent objects')
this may take a while
Right click on the root of the tree and select
Transport all below
Expand the whole tree and check if there isn't an object which is locked
by an other open transport request !!
(the column 'Transport request' has to be empty (BEFORE deleting the corresponding source system
connection!)

Can deployment affect source system due to registering / deployment in owb

HI ,
We have one 3 source system and one target system. Through OWB 10 g r2 we have defined connections for all locations like source staging target repository, workflow manager...etc.
Target system IP address was going to change. So we did reset the IP in our all connection information and register them again. then deployed all the location with the objects like mapping process ..etc.
But Incident happened is,
There is one of source (production) system, which have 10-12 tables. and those tables dropped and create as replace action of deployment.
Ideally It should not happened through ETL tool.
what are the steps or process which will ensure that if any changes need to do at server side (like IP address changes) , will not affect the production source system by re-registration of locations and re-deployment.
needs reply on urgent basis.
any body can help on this ....

In the Runtime Audit browser you should find a Location Summary report. From here you can view and edit the connection information for the registered location. Note that this information remains in the runtime, and does not get pushed back to the design repository, so if you re-register a location you'll overwrite the changes.
The upgrade action will generate an upgrade plan for any changed objects - eg instead of dropping a table and then creating it again, it may just do an "alter table" statement. This ensures that the data is retained, and is the default deployment action for any data object.
Using hostname instead of IP address is the right way to go, and should mean that when you changed the IP address of a server, the hostname remains the same. Unless you also changed port numbers and service names then you should not need to make any changes to the locations, or perform any redeployments.
The Runtime Audit Browser is installed as part of OWB, so I'm not sure why it's not available in your environment. Could someone have removed the shortcuts from the menus? You could try reinstalling the OWB client and see if the shortcuts re-appear.

Can I trash "Previous Systems" after Archive and Install?

For details leading up to this question, please see my previous post entitled "Not recognizing password after OS install". Basically I want to know if I can throw out the "Previous Systems" folder that was created when I did an "Archive and Install" re-install of my OS.

For more information about the previous system folder and what is saved, you can check out Mac OS X: About the Archive and Install feature. Probably the most important piece of information is that the Previous System Folder contains a copy of the /Users folder. If you thought that something was missing from your home folder in the new system after the upgrade, you could copy it from the /Users folder. But, if you selected the option "Preserve User and Network Settings" when you did the Archive and Install, this should not be necessary.
Personally, what I would do is to leave the Previous System Folder be for a couple of weeks. If you don't find anything missing, then it should be okay to delete it.

I can't see my photos after successfully converting catalog.

After successfully converting my catalog from Elements Organizer 10 to 12, on my PC, I can't see any of the photos I converted. Any ideas on how to get them to show up?

Which operating system are you running on?
When you say you can't see any photos, I'm assuming that you are talking about the thumbnail grid. What do you see there, a question mark, an egg timer, or a message?
After the conversion of the catalog, when you next load the organizer it has to rebuild the thumbnails which can take sometime.

Wrong conversion of source system after transport

We ve got a a transport problem in our 3-3 Landscape. Connections for extraction are only between same systems ( f.e. dev to dev)
BI Dev BI Test BI Prod
R3 Dev R3 Test R3 Prod
The conversion of source systems is on the BI test:
BI Dev becomes BI Test
R3 Dev becomes R3 Test
The conversion of source systems is on the BI Prod:
BI Test becomes BI Prod
R3 Test becomes R3 Prod.
With this it tells me the after transport (BI Test to BI Prod) of objects with source system assignement that the R3 Dev System is not known.
The transport before from the BI Dev to BI Test worked well without any problems.
We`ve got the BI Test and the BI DEV on the same host.
Has anybody got an idea what is wrong?

Mapping of Quality System (Source System) after the Transport

Hi,
We have two quality source systems like 300,400 in sync with the development ,to extract the data . I am transporting Transfer rule mapping from the development .After the transport to Quality , the changes are reflected in 300 . But I want to change it from 300 to 400 i.e.Transfer rule mapping should be reflected in 400. What is the transaction code used to change this mapping in BW System?

When you transport - you have a transport mapping in your dev system that tells BI which system connects to which system in the QA system for instance
FLAT_FILE in DEV could be Z_FLATFILE in QA - accordingly the datasources are mapped. Also the transfer rules are source system specific which means that you change the source system - the transfer rules will have to be recreated.
Instead what I am asking you is to maintain the mappings for client 400 in DEV and then maintain the mappings as 400 - 400 in the qa system and then transport the same. If your dev systems are linked to QA300 and your mapping says QA400 the same will hold good.. however if you have QA300 in dev to be sent to QA as QA300 and then change the source system .. it will not work since this will be seen as a source system change and you cannot change the same. You could try BDLS and try changing the logical client name ( I am not sure if it is BDLS ) or change the RFC connection parameters in SM59 but am not sure if it would work....

Can't get Source System to come up for BBPGETVD

Hi Guys,
i can't get the source syst. visible in tx: bbpgetvd.
i have maintained the ERP system in table BBP_BACKEND_DEST with the following:
client: 010
log_sys: FD0CLNT903
dest: FDoCLNT903
sys_type: ERP_2.0
rfc_poss: X
fi_validation: 2
also table RFCDES has the entry for the RFC destination of the ERP system.
Any ideas where did I missed something?

make sure that you have maintained the SPRO setting for "definition of Back-End systems in SAP-SRM" inside the node SRM SERVER->technical basic settings->define system landscape
here, logsys, description, rfc name, description, sys type, flag for rfc, SDL name etc etc
the search help used in bbpgetvd is BBP_BACKEND_DESTINATION_F4 and FM BBP_F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_BACKEND_DES.
and the code used to pick the fields is below

so what you can check in you system are:
1. system type of you ECC is kept as a R3*** or ERP****
2. RFC_POSS thats nothing but the flag(checkbox) in the config table for RFC

yes, prior to that you need to make sure that the logical systems and RFCs are configured properly or not..
